1 V oi, cei drepţi, bucuraţi-vă în Domnul, căci lauda se potriveşte celor integri!

Sing, ye righteous, in Jehovah, For upright ones praise comely.

2 L ăudaţi-L pe Domnul din liră, cântaţi-I din harfa cu zece corzi!

Give ye thanks to Jehovah with a harp, With psaltery of ten strings sing praise to Him,

3 C ântaţi-I un cântec nou, sunaţi frumos din corzi şi strigaţi de bucurie!

Sing ye to Him a new song, Play skilfully with shouting.

4 C uvântul Domnului este drept şi toate lucrările Lui mărturisesc despre credincioşia Sa.

For upright the word of Jehovah, And all His work in faithfulness.

5 E l iubeşte dreptatea şi judecata; îndurarea Domnului umple pământul.

Loving righteousness and judgment, Of the kindness of Jehovah is the earth full.

6 C erurile au fost întocmite prin Cuvântul Domnului şi toată oştirea lor – prin suflarea gurii Sale.

By the word of Jehovah The heavens have been made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host.

7 E l strânge apele mării într-o grămadă, pune adâncurile în cămări.

Gathering as a heap the waters of the sea, Putting in treasuries the depths.

8 S ă se teamă de Domnul, toţi cei de pe pământ! Să le fie frică de El, tuturor locuitorilor lumii!

Afraid of Jehovah are all the earth, Of Him are all the inhabitants of the world afraid.

9 C ăci El zice şi ce zice ia fiinţă! El porunceşte şi ce porunceşte rămâne în picioare!

For He hath said, and it is, He hath commanded, and it standeth.

10 D omnul împiedică hotărârile neamurilor şi zădărniceşte planurile popoarelor,

Jehovah made void the counsel of nations, He disallowed the thoughts of the peoples.

11 d ar hotărârile Domnului rămân pe vecie, şi planurile inimii Sale dăinuiesc din generaţie în generaţie.

The counsel of Jehovah to the age standeth, The thoughts of His heart to all generations.

12 F erice de poporul al cărui Dumnezeu este Domnul, poporul pe care Şi l-a ales drept moştenire!

O the happiness of the nation whose God Jehovah, Of the people He did choose, For an inheritance to Him.

13 D omnul priveşte din ceruri, se uită la toţi fiii oamenilor.

From the heavens hath Jehovah looked, He hath seen all the sons of men.

14 D in lăcaşul Locuinţei Sale, El priveşte spre toţi locuitorii pământului.

From the fixed place of His dwelling, He looked unto all inhabitants of the earth;

15 E l, Care a întocmit sufletul tuturor, ia aminte la toate faptele acestora.

Who is forming their hearts together, Who is attending unto all their works.

16 R egele nu este izbăvit prin mărimea oştirii lui, nici războinicul nu este scăpat prin mărimea puterii sale.

The king is not saved by the multitude of a force. A mighty man is not delivered, By abundance of power.

17 C alul este o nădejde zadarnică pentru eliberare şi toată vlaga lui nu poate izbăvi.

A false thing the horse for safety, And by the abundance of his strength He doth not deliver.

18 I ată că ochiul Domnului veghează asupra celor ce se tem de El şi asupra celor ce nădăjduiesc în îndurarea Sa,

Lo, the eye of Jehovah to those fearing Him, To those waiting for His kindness,

19 c a să le scape sufletul de la moarte şi să-i ţină în viaţă în mijlocul foametei.

To deliver from death their soul, And to keep them alive in famine.

20 S ufletele noastre tânjesc după Domnul! El este ajutorul şi scutul nostru,

Our soul hath waited for Jehovah, Our help and our shield He,

21 c ăci în El se bucură inimile noastre, fiindcă ne încredem în Numele Lui cel sfânt!

For in Him doth our heart rejoice, For in His holy name we have trusted.

22 D oamne, fie îndurarea Ta peste noi, pe măsura nădejdii noastre în Tine!

Let Thy kindness, O Jehovah, be upon us, As we have waited for Thee!
