1 D umnezeule, Tu eşti Dumnezeul meu! Te caut cu ardoare; îmi însetează sufletul după Tine, îmi tânjeşte trupul după Tine într-un pământ uscat, sterp şi fără apă.

A Psalm of David, in his being in the wilderness of Judah. O God, Thou my God, earnestly do I seek Thee, Thirsted for Thee hath my soul, Longed for Thee hath my flesh, In a land dry and weary, without waters.

2 D a, Te-am văzut în Lăcaşul Tău cel sfânt şi am privit la tăria şi la slava Ta.

So in the sanctuary I have seen Thee, To behold Thy strength and Thine honour.

3 P entru că îndurarea Ta preţuieşte mai mult decât viaţa, de aceea buzele mele Te vor lăuda.

Because better Thy kindness than life, My lips do praise Thee.

4 A şadar, Te voi binecuvânta toată viaţa mea şi în Numele Tău îmi voi ridica mâinile

So I bless Thee in my life, in Thy name I lift up my hands.

5 S ufletul meu se satură de Tine ca de nişte bucate grase şi miezoase, iar gura mea Te laudă cu strigăte de bucurie pe buze.

As milk and fatness is my soul satisfied, And singing lips doth my mouth praise.

6 Î mi amintesc de Tine în aşternutul meu; în timpul străjilor nopţii cuget la Tine.

If I have remembered Thee on my couch, In the watches -- I meditate on Thee.

7 C ăci Tu eşti ajutorul meu, strig de bucurie la umbra aripilor Tale!

For Thou hast been a help to me, And in the shadow of Thy wings I sing.

8 S ufletul meu este lipit de Tine, dreapta Ta mă sprijină.

Cleaved hath my soul after Thee, On me hath Thy right hand taken hold.

9 A ceia care caută să-mi ia viaţa sunt sortiţi nimicirii: vor merge în adâncimile pământului,

And they who for desolation seek my soul, Go in to the lower parts of the earth.

10 v or fi trecuţi prin ascuţişul sabiei, vor fi prada şacalilor.

They cause him to run on the edge of the sword, A portion for foxes they are.

11 R egele însă se va bucura în Dumnezeu! Oricine jură pe Numele Lui se va lăuda, căci gura mincinoasă va fi astupată.

And the king doth rejoice in God, Boast himself doth every one swearing by Him, But stopped is the mouth of those speaking lies!
