1 D omnul a vorbit lui Moise şi lui Aaron, şi a zis:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, and unto Aaron, saying,

2 I ată ce porunceşte legea pe care a dat -o Domnul, zicînd:, Vorbeşte copiilor lui Israel să-ţi aducă o vacă roşie, fără pată, fără vreun cusur trupesc, şi care să nu fi fost pusă la jug.

`This a statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the sons of Israel, and they bring unto thee a red cow, a perfect one, in which there is no blemish, on which no yoke hath gone up;

3 S 'o daţi preotului Eleazar; el s'o scoată din tabără, şi să fie junghiată înaintea lui.

and ye have given it unto Eleazar the priest, and he hath brought it out unto the outside of the camp, and hath slaughtered it before him.

4 P reotul Eleazar să ia cu degetul din sîngele vacii, şi să stropească de şapte ori înaintea cortului întîlnirii.

`And Eleazar the priest hath taken of its blood with his finger, and hath sprinkled over-against the front of the tent of meeting of her blood seven times;

5 V aca să fie arsă subt ochii lui; să -i ardă pielea, carnea şi sîngele, împreună cu baliga.

and hath burnt the cow before his eyes; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, besides her dung, he doth burn;

6 P reotul să ia lemn de cedru, isop şi cîrmîz, şi să le arunce în mijlocul flăcărilor cari vor mistui vaca.

and the priest hath taken cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and hath cast unto the midst of the burning of the cow;

7 P reotul să-şi spele hainele, şi să-şi scalde trupul în apă; apoi să intre iarăş în tabără, şi să fie necurat pînă seara.

and the priest hath washed his garments, and hath bathed his flesh with water, and afterwards doth come in unto the camp, and the priest is unclean till the evening;

8 C elce va arde vaca, să-şi spele hainele în apă, şi să-şi scalde trupul în apă; şi să fie necurat pînă seara.

and he who is burning it doth wash his garments with water, and hath bathed his flesh with water, and is unclean till the evening.

9 U n om curat să strîngă cenuşa vacii, şi s'o pună într'un loc curat afară din tabără; s'o păstreze pentru adunarea copiilor lui Israel, ca să facă apa de curăţire. Aceasta este o apă de ispăşire.

`And a clean man hath gathered the ashes of the cow, and hath placed at the outside of the camp, in a clean place, and it hath become to the company of the sons of Israel a charge for waters of separation -- it a;

10 C elce va strînge cenuşa vacii, să-şi spele hainele, şi să fie necurat pînă seara. Aceasta să fie o lege vecinică atît pentru copiii lui Israel cît şi pentru străinul care locuieşte în mijlocul lor.

and he who is gathering the ashes of the heifer hath washed his garments, and is unclean till the evening; and it hath been to the sons of Israel, and to the sojourner who is sojourning in their midst, for a statute age-during.

11 C ine se va atinge de vreun mort, de vreun trup omenesc mort, să fie necurat timp de şapte zile.

`He who is coming against the dead body of any man -- is unclean seven days;

12 S ă se cureţe cu apa aceasta a treia zi şi a şaptea zi, şi va fi curat; dar, dacă nu se curăţeşte a treia zi şi a şaptea zi, nu va fi curat.

he doth cleanse himself for it on the third day, and on the seventh day he is clean; and if he cleanse not himself on the third day, then on the seventh day he is not clean.

13 C ine se va atinge de un mort, de trupul unui om mort, şi nu se va curăţi, pîngăreşte cortul Domnului; acela să fie nimicit din Israel. Fiindcă nu s'a stropit peste el apa de curăţire, este necurat, şi necurăţia lui este încă peste el.

Any one who is coming against the dead, against the body of man who dieth, and cleanseth not himself -- the tabernacle of Jehovah he hath defiled, and that person hath been cut off from Israel, for water of separation is not sprinkled upon him; he is unclean; his uncleanness still upon him.

14 I ată legea cînd va muri un om într'un cort: oricine va intra în cort, şi oricine se va afla în cort, va fi necurat şapte zile.

`This the law, when a man dieth in a tent: every one who is coming in unto the tent, and all that in the tent, is unclean seven days;

15 D e asemenea, orice vas descoperit, care nu va avea un capac bine strîns pe el, va fi necurat.

and every open vessel which hath no covering of thread upon it is unclean.

16 O ricine se va atinge, pe cîmp, de un om ucis de sabie, sau de un mort, sau de oase omeneşti, sau de vre un mormînt, va fi necurat timp de şapte zile.

`And every one who cometh, on the face of the field, against the pierced of a sword, or against the dead, or against a bone of man, or against a grave, is unclean seven days;

17 P entru cel necurat, să se ia cenuşă dela jertfa de ispăşire care a fost arsă, şi să toarne peste ea apă de izvor într'un vas.

and they have taken for the unclean person of the ashes of the burning of the, and he hath put upon it running water unto a vessel;

18 U n om curat să ia isop, şi să -l moaie în apă; să stropească apoi cu el cortul, toate uneltele, oamenii cari sînt acolo, pe cel ce s'a atins de oase omeneşti, sau de vreun om ucis, sau de vreun mort, sau de vreun mormînt.

and a clean person hath taken hyssop, and hath dipped in water, and hath sprinkled on the tent, and on all the vessels, and on the persons who have been there, and on him who is coming against a bone, or against one pierced, or against the dead, or against a grave.

19 C el curat să stropească pe cel necurat, a treia zi şi a şaptea zi, şi să -l curăţe în ziua a şaptea. Să-şi spele hainele, şi să se scalde în apă; şi seara, va fi curat.

`And the clean hath sprinkled on the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day, and hath cleansed him on the seventh day, and he hath washed his garments, and hath bathed with water, and hath been clean in the evening.

20 U n om care va fi necurat, şi nu se va curăţi, va fi nimicit din mijlocul adunării, căci a spurcat sfîntul locaş al Domnului; fiindcă n'a fost stropită peste el apa de curăţire, este necurat.

`And the man who is unclean, and doth not cleanse himself, even that person hath been cut off from the midst of the assembly; for the sanctuary of Jehovah he hath defiled; water of separation is not sprinkled upon him; he unclean.

21 A ceasta să fie o lege vecinică pentru ei. Cel ce va stropi pe altul cu apa de curăţire, să-şi spele hainele, şi cel ce se va atinge de apa de curăţire, să fie necurat pînă seara.

`And it hath been to them for a statute age-during, that he who is sprinkling the water of separation doth wash his garments, and he who is coming against the water of separation is unclean till the evening,

22 O rice lucru de care se va atinge cel necurat, va fi necurat; şi cine se va atinge de el, să fie necurat pînă seara.``

and all against which the unclean person cometh is unclean, and the person who is coming against is unclean till the evening.'
