1 D uhul Domnului Dumnezeu este peste Mine, căci Domnul M'a uns să aduc veşti bune celor nenorociţi: El M'a trimes să vindec pe cei cu inima zdrobită, să vestesc robilor slobozenia, şi prinşilor de război izbăvirea;

The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah on me, Because Jehovah did anoint me To proclaim tidings to the humble, He sent me to bind the broken of heart, To proclaim to captives liberty, And to bound ones an opening of bands.

2 s ă vestesc un an de îndurare al Domnului, şi o zi de răzbunare a Dumnezeului nostru; să mîngîi pe toţi cei întristaţi;

To proclaim the year of the good pleasure of Jehovah, And the day of vengeance of our God, To comfort all mourners.

3 s ă dau celor întristaţi din Sion, să le dau o cunună împărătească în loc de cenuşă, un untdelemn de bucurie în locul plînsului, o haină de laudă în locul unui duh mîhnit, ca să fie numiţi, terebinţi ai neprihănirii,`, un sad al Domnului, ca să slujească spre slava Lui.``

To appoint to mourners in Zion, To give to them beauty instead of ashes, The oil of joy instead of mourning, A covering of praise for a spirit of weakness, And He is calling to them, `Trees of righteousness, The planting of Jehovah -- to be beautified.'

4 E i vor zidi iarăş vechile dărămături, vor ridica iarăş năruirile din vechime, vor înoi cetăţi pustiite, rămase pustii din neam în neam.

And they have built the wastes of old, The desolations of the ancients they raise up, And they have renewed waste cities, The desolations of generation and generation.

5 S trăinii vor sta şi vă vor paşte turmele, şi fiii străinului vor fi plugarii şi vierii voştri.

And strangers have stood and fed your flock, Sons of a foreigner your husbandmen, And your vine-dressers.

6 D ar voi vă veţi numi preoţi ai Domnului, şi veţi fi numiţi slujitori ai Dumnezeului nostru, veţi mînca bogăţiile neamurilor, şi vă veţi făli cu fala lor.

And ye are called `Priests of Jehovah,' `Ministers of our God,' is said of you, The strength of nations ye consume, And in their honour ye do boast yourselves.

7 Î n locul ocării voastre, veţi avea îndoită cinste; în locul ruşinii, se vor veseli de partea lor, căci vor stăpîni îndoit în ţara lor, şi vor avea o bucurie vecinică.

Instead of your shame and confusion, A second time they sing of their portion, Therefore in their land A second time do they take possession, Joy age-during for them.

8 C ăci Eu, Domnul, iubesc dreptatea, urăsc răpirea şi nelegiuirea; le voi da cu credincioşie răsplata lor, şi voi încheia cu ei un legămînt vecinic.

For I Jehovah, loving judgment, Hating plunder for a burnt-offering, And I have given their wage in truth, And a covenant age-during I make for them.

9 S ămînţa lor va fi cunoscută între neamuri, şi urmaşii lor printre popoare; toţi ceice -i vor vedea, vor cunoaşte că sînt o sămînţă binecuvîntată de Domnul.``

And known among nations hath been their seed, And their offspring in the midst of the peoples, All their beholders acknowledge them, For they a seed Jehovah hath blessed.

10 M ă bucur în Domnul, şi sufletul Meu este plin de veselie în Dumnezeul Meu; căci M'a îmbrăcat cu hainele mîntuirii, M'a acoperit cu mantaua izbăvirii, ca pe un mire împodobit cu o cunună împărătească, şi ca o mireasă, împodobită cu sculele ei.

I greatly rejoice in Jehovah, Joy doth my soul in my God, For He clothed me with garments of salvation, With a robe of righteousness covereth Me, As a bridegroom prepareth ornaments, And as a bride putteth on her jewels.

11 C ăci, după cum pămîntul face să răsară lăstarul lui, şi după cum o grădină face să încolţească sămănăturile ei, aşa va face Domnul, Dumnezeu, să răsară mîntuirea şi lauda, în faţa tuturor neamurilor.``

For, as the earth bringeth forth her shoots, And as a garden causeth its sown things to shoot up, So the Lord Jehovah causeth righteousness and praise To shoot up before all the nations!
