1 D upă aceea, David a bătut pe Filisteni şi i -a smerit, şi a luat din mîna Filistenilor Gatul şi satele lui.

And it cometh to pass after this, that David smiteth the Philistines, and humbleth them, and taketh Gath and its small towns out of the hand of the Philistines;

2 A bătut pe Moabiţi, şi Moabiţii au fost supuşi lui David şi i-au plătit un bir.

and he smiteth Moab, and the Moabites are servants to David, bringing a present.

3 D avid a bătut pe Hadarezer, împăratul Ţobei, spre Hamat, cînd s'a dus să-şi aşeze stăpînirea peste rîul Eufratului.

And David smiteth Hadarezer king of Zobah, at Hamath, in his going to establish his power by the river Phrat,

4 D avid i -a luat o mie de cară, şapte mii de călăreţi, şi două zeci de mii de pedestraşi; a tăiat vinele tuturor cailor de trăsuri, şi n'a păstrat decît o sută de cară.

and David captureth from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David destroyeth utterly all the chariots, and leaveth of them a hundred chariots.

5 S irienii din Damasc au venit în ajutorul lui Hadarezer, împăratul Ţobei, şi David a bătut douăzeci şi două de mii de Sirieni.

And Aram of Damascus cometh in to give help to Hadarezer king of Zobah, and David smiteth in Aram twenty and two thousand men,

6 D avid a pus o strajă de oşti în Siria Damascului. Şi Sirienii au fost supuşi lui David, şi i-au plătit bir. Domnul ocrotea pe David ori unde mergea.

and David putteth in Aram of Damascus, and the Aramaeans are to David for servants, bearing a present, and Jehovah giveth salvation to David whithersoever he hath gone.

7 Ş i David a luat scuturile de aur pe cari le aveau slujitorii lui Hadarezer, şi le -a adus la Ierusalim.

And David taketh the shields of gold that have been on the servants of Hadarezer, and bringeth them in to Jerusalem;

8 D avid a mai luat multă aramă din Tibhat şi din Cun, cetăţile lui Hadarezer. Solomon a făcut din ea marea de aramă, stîlpii şi uneltele de aramă.

and from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, hath David taken very much brass; with it hath Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

9 T ohu, împăratul Hamatului, a auzit că David bătuse toată oştirea lui Hadarezer, împăratul Ţobei,

And Tou king of Hamath heareth that David hath smitten the whole force of Hadarezer king of Zobah,

10 ş i a trimes pe fiul său Hadoram la împăratul David să -i ureze de bine, şi să -l laude că a luptat împotriva lui Hadarezer şi l -a bătut. Căci Tohu era în război cu Hadarezer. A trimes de asemenea tot felul de vase de aur, de argint şi de aramă.

and he sendeth Hadoram his son unto king David, to ask of him of peace, and to bless him (because that he hath fought against Hadarezer, and smiteth him, for a man of wars with Tou had Hadarezer been,) and all kinds of vessels, of gold, and silver, and brass;

11 Î mpăratul David le -a închinat Domnului, împreună cu argintul şi aurul pe care -l luase dela toate popoarele, dela Edom, dela Moab, dela fiii lui Amon, dela Filisteni şi dela Amalec.

also them hath king David sanctified to Jehovah with the silver and the gold that he hath taken from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

12 A bişai, fiul Ţeruiei, a bătut în Valea Sării optsprezece mii de Edomiţi.

And Abishai son of Zeruiah hath smitten Edom in the valley of salt -- eighteen thousand,

13 A pus oşti de strajă în Edom, şi tot Edomul a fost supus lui David. Domnul ocrotea pe David ori pe unde mergea.

and he putteth in Edom garrisons, and all the Edomites are servants to David; and Jehovah saveth David whithersoever he hath gone.

14 D avid a domnit peste tot Israelul, şi făcea judecată şi dreptate tot poporului său.

And David reigneth over all Israel, and he is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,

15 I oab, fiul Ţeruiei, era mai mare peste oştire; Iosafat, fiul lui Ahilud, era scriitor;

and Joab son of Zeruiah over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud remembrancer,

16 Ţ adoc, fiul lui Ahitub, şi Abimelec, fiul lui Abiatar, erau preoţi; Şavşa era logofăt;

and Zadok son of Ahitub, and Abimelech son of Abiathar, priests, and Shavsha scribe,

17 B enaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, era căpetenia Cheretiţilor şi a Peletiţilor; şi fiii lui David erau cei dintîi pe lîngă împărat.

and Benaiah son of Jehoiada over the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the elder sons of David at the hand of the king.
