1 Î n vremea aceea, Ezechia a fost bolnav pe moarte. Proorocul Isaia, fiul lui Amoţ, a venit la el, şi i -a zis:,, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul:, Rînduieşte ce ai de rînduit casei tale, căci vei muri, şi nu vei mai trăi.``

In those days hath Hezekiah been sick unto death, and come unto him doth Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, and saith unto him, `Thus said Jehovah: Give a charge to thy house, for thou art dying, and dost not live.'

2 E zechia s'a întors cu faţa la părete, şi a făcut Domnului următoarea rugăciune:

And he turneth round his face unto the wall, and prayeth unto Jehovah, saying,

3 D oamne, adu-Ţi aminte că am umblat înaintea Feţei Tale cu credincioşie şi curăţie de inimă, şi am făcut ce este bine înaintea Ta!`` Şi Ezechia a vărsat multe lacrămi.

`I pray Thee, O Jehovah, remember, I pray Thee, how I have walked habitually before Thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which good in Thine eyes I have done;' and Hezekiah weepeth -- a great weeping.

4 I saia, care ieşise, n'ajunsese încă în curtea din mijloc, cînd cuvîntul Domnului i -a vorbit astfel:

And it cometh to pass -- Isaiah hath not gone out to the middle court -- that the word of Jehovah hath been unto him, saying,

5 ş i spune lui Ezechia, căpetenia poporului Meu:, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul tatălui tău David:,Ţi-am auzit rugăciunea, şi ţi-am văzut lacrămile. Iată că te voi face sănătos; a treia zi, te vei sui la Casa Domnului.

`Turn back, and thou hast said unto Hezekiah, leader of My people: Thus said Jehovah, God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tear, lo, I give healing to thee, on the third day thou dost go up to the house of Jehovah;

6 V oi mai adăuga cincisprezece ani la zilele tale. Te voi izbăvi, pe tine şi cetatea aceasta, din mîna împăratului Asiriei, şi voi ocroti cetatea aceasta, din pricina Mea, şi din pricina robului Meu David.``

and I have added to thy days fifteen years, and out of the hand of the king of Asshur I deliver thee and this city, and have covered over this city for Mine own sake, and for the sake of David My servant.'

7 I saia a zis:,, Luaţi o turtă de smochine.`` Au luat -o şi au pus -o pe umflătură. Şi Ezechia s'a vindecat.

And Isaiah saith, `Take ye a cake of figs;' and they take and lay on the boil, and he reviveth.

8 E zechia zisese lui Isaia:,, După care semn voi cunoaşte că mă va vindeca Domnul, şi că mă voi sui a treia zi la Casa Domnului?``

And Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, `What the sign that Jehovah doth give healing to me, that I have gone up on the third day to the house of Jehovah?'

9 Ş i Isaia a zis:,, Iată, din partea Domnului, semnul după care vei cunoaşte că Domnul va împlini cuvîntul pe care l -a rostit:, Cum vrei: să treacă umbra peste zece trepte înainte, sau să dea înapoi cu zece trepte?``

And Isaiah saith, `This to thee the sign from Jehovah, that Jehovah doth the thing that He hath spoken -- The shadow hath gone on ten degrees, or it doth turn back ten degrees?'

10 E zechia a răspuns:,, Nu este mare lucru ca umbra să treacă înainte peste zece trepte; ci mai bine să se dea înapoi cu zece trepte.``

And Hezekiah saith, `It hath been light for the shadow to incline ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow turn backward ten degrees.'

11 A tunci, Isaia, proorocul, s'a rugat Domnului, şi Domnul a dat cu zece trepte înapoi umbra din locul în care se pogorîse pe cadranul soarelui lui Ahaz.

And Isaiah the prophet calleth unto Jehovah, and He bringeth back the shadow by the degrees that it had gone down in the degrees of Ahaz -- backward ten degrees.

12 Î n acelaş timp, Berodac-Baladan, fiul lui Baladan, împăratul Babilonului, a trimes o scrisoare şi un dar lui Ezechia, căci auzise de boala lui Ezechia.

At that time hath Berodach-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah, for he heard that Hezekiah had been sick;

13 E zechia a ascultat pe soli, şi le -a arătat locul unde erau lucrurile lui de preţ, argintul şi aurul, mirodeniile şi untdelemnul cel scump, casa lui cu arme şi tot ce se afla în vistieriile lui: n'a fost nimic pe care să nu li -l fi arătat Ezechia în casa lui şi în toate moşiile lui.

and Hezekiah hearkeneth unto them, and sheweth them all the house of his treasury, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the good ointment, and all the house of his vessels, and all that hath been found in his treasuries; there hath not been a thing that Hezekiah hath not shewed them, in his house, and in all his dominion.

14 P roorocul Isaia a venit în urmă la împăratul Ezechia, şi i -a zis:,, Ce au zis oamenii aceia, şi de unde au venit la tine?`` Ezechia a răspuns:,, Au venit dintr'o ţară depărtată, din Babilon.``

And Isaiah the prophet cometh in unto king Hezekiah, and saith unto him, `What said these men? and whence come they unto thee?' And Hezekiah saith, `From a land afar off they have come -- from Babylon.'

15 I saia a mai zis:,, Ce au văzut în casa ta?`` Ezechia a răspuns:,, Au văzut tot ce este în casa mea: n'a fost nimic în vistieriile mele pe care să nu li -l fi arătat.``

And he saith, `What saw they in thy house?' and Hezekiah saith, `All that in my house they saw; there hath not been a thing that I have not shewed them among my treasures.'

16 A tunci Isaia a zis lui Ezechia:,, Ascultă cuvîntul Domnului!

And Isaiah saith unto Hezekiah, `Hear a word of Jehovah:

17 I ată că vor veni vremuri cînd vor duce în Babilon tot ce este în casa ta şi ce au strîns părinţii tăi pînă în ziua de azi; nu va rămînea nimic, -zice Domnul. -

Lo, days are coming, and borne hath been all that in thy house, and that thy father have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Jehovah;

18 Ş i vor lua din fiii tăi, cari vor ieşi din tine, pe cari -i vei naşte, şi -i vor face fameni slujitori în casa împăratului Babilonului.``

and of thy sons who go out from thee, whom thou begettest, they take away, and they have been eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.'

19 E zechia a răspuns lui Isaia:,, Cuvîntul Domnului, pe care l-ai rostit, este bun.`` Şi a adăugat:,, Căci va fi pace şi linişte în timpul vieţii mele!``

And Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, `Good the word of Jehovah that thou hast spoken;' and he saith, `Is it not -- if peace and truth are in my days?'

20 C elelalte fapte ale lui Ezechia, toate isprăvile lui, şi cum a făcut iazul şi canalui de apă, şi a adus apele în cetate, nu sînt scrise oare în cartea Cronicilor împăraţilor lui Iuda?

And the rest of the matters of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made the pool, and the conduit, and bringeth in the waters to the city, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

21 E zechia a adormit cu părinţii săi. Şi, în locul lui, a domnit fiul său Manase.

And Hezekiah lieth with his fathers, and reign doth Manasseh his son in his stead.
