1 D omnul a vorbit lui Moise şi lui Aaron, şi le -a zis:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying unto them,

2 V orbiţi copiilor lui Israel, şi spuneţi-le:, Iată dobitoacele pe cari le veţi mînca dintre toate dobitoacele depe pămînt.

`Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, This the beast which ye do eat out of all the beasts which on the earth:

3 S ă mîncaţi orice dobitoc care are unghia despicată, copita despărţită şi rumegă.

any dividing a hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hoofs, bringing up the cud, among the beasts, it ye do eat.

4 D ar să nu mîncaţi din cele ce rumegă numai, sau cari au numai unghia despicată. Astfel, să nu mîncaţi cămila, care rumegă, dar n'are unghia despicată: s'o priviţi ca necurată.

`Only, this ye do not eat -- of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the hoof -- the camel, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof not dividing -- it unclean to you;

5 S ă nu mîncaţi iepurele de casă, care rumegă, dar n'are unghia despicată: să -l priviţi ca necurat.

and the rabbit, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof it divideth not -- unclean it to you;

6 S ă nu mîncaţi iepurele, care rumegă, dar n'are unghia despicată: să -l priviţi ca necurat.

and the hare, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof hath not divided -- unclean it to you;

7 S ă nu mîncaţi porcul, care are unghia despicată şi copita despărţită, dar nu rumegă; să -l priviţi ca necurat.

and the sow, though it is dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hoof, yet the cud it bringeth not up -- unclean it to you.

8 S ă nu mîncaţi din carnea lor, şi să nu vă atingeţi de trupurile lor moarte: să le priviţi ca necurate.

`Of their flesh ye do not eat, and against their carcase ye do not come -- unclean they to you.

9 I ată vieţuitoarele, pe cari să le mîncaţi dintre toate cele ce sînt în ape. Să mîncaţi din toate cele ce au aripi (înotătoare) şi solzi, şi cari sînt în ape, fie în mări, fie în rîuri.

`This ye do eat of all which in the waters; any one that hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the brooks, them ye do eat;

10 D ar să priviţi ca o urîciune pe toate cele ce n'au aripi şi solzi, din tot ce mişună în ape şi tot ce trăieşte în ape, fie în mări, fie în rîuri.

and any one that hath not fins and scales in the seas, and in the brooks, of any teeming creature of the waters, and of any creature which liveth, which in the waters -- an abomination they to you;

11 S ă le priviţi ca o urîciune, să nu mîncaţi din carnea lor, şi trupurile lor moarte să le priviţi ca o urîciune.

yea, an abomination they are to you; of their flesh ye do not eat, and their carcase ye abominate.

12 S ă priviţi ca o urîciune pe toate cele cari n'au aripi şi solzi în ape.

`Any one that hath not fins and scales in the waters -- an abomination it to you.

13 I ată dintre păsări, cele pe cari le veţi privi ca o urîciune, şi din cari să nu mîncaţi: vulturul, gripsorul şi vulturul de mare;

`And these ye do abominate of the fowl; they are not eaten, an abomination they: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

14 ş orecarul, şoimul şi tot ce este din neamul lui;

and the vulture, and the kite after its kind,

15 c orbul şi toate soiurile lui;

every raven after its kind,

16 s truţul, bufniţa, pescărelul, coroiul şi tot ce ţine de neamul lui;

and the owl, and the night-hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after its kind,

17 h uhurezul, heretele şi cocostîrcul;

and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

18 l ebăda, pelicanul şi corbul de mare;

and the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

19 b arza, bîtlanul, şi ce este din neamul lui, pupăza şi liliacul.

and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

20 S ă priviţi ca o urîciune orice tîrîtoare care sboară şi umblă pe patru picioare.

`Every teeming creature which is flying, which is going on four -- an abomination it to you.

21 D ar, dintre toate tîrîtoarele cari sboară şi umblă pe patru picioare, să mîncaţi pe cele ce au fluerul picioarelor dinapoi mai lung, ca să poată sări pe pămînt.

`Only -- this ye do eat of any teeming thing which is flying, which is going on four, which hath legs above its feet, to move with them on the earth;

22 I ată pe cari să le mîncaţi: lăcusta, lăcusta solam, lăcusta hargol şi lăcusta hagab, după soiurile lor.

these of them ye do eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the beetle after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind;

23 P e toate celelalte tîrîtoare cari sboară şi cari au patru picioare să le priviţi ca o urîciune.

and every teeming thing which is flying, which hath four feet -- an abomination it to you.

24 E le vă vor face necuraţi: oricine se va atinge de trupurile lor moarte, va fi necurat pînă seara,

`And by these ye are made unclean, any one who is coming against their carcase is unclean till the evening;

25 ş i oricine va purta trupurile lor moarte, să-şi spele hainele, şi va fi necurat pînă seara.

and anyone who is lifting up of their carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening: --

26 S ă priviţi ca necurat orice dobitoc cu unghia despicată, dar care n'are copita despărţită şi nu rumegă: oricine se va atinge de el va fi necurat.

even every beast which is dividing the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, and the cud is not bringing up -- unclean they to you; any one who is coming against them is unclean.

27 S ă priviţi ca necurate toate acele dobitoace cu patru picioare, cari umblă pe labele lor: ori cine se va atinge de trupurile lor moarte, va fi necurat pînă seara;

`And any one going on its paws, among all the beasts which are going on four -- unclean they to you; any one who is coming against their carcase is unclean until the evening;

28 ş i ori cine le va purta trupurile moarte, îşi va spăla hainele şi va fi necurat pînă seara. Să le priviţi ca necurate.

and he who is lifting up their carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean until the evening -- unclean they to you.

29 I ată, din vietăţile cari se tîrăsc pe pămînt, cele pe cari le veţi privi ca necurate: cîrtiţa, şoarecele şi şopîrla, după soiurile lor;

`And this to you the unclean among the teeming things which are teeming on the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after its kind,

30 a riciul, broasca, broasca ţestoasă, melcul şi cameleonul.

and the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole;

31 S ă le priviţi ca necurate dintre toate tîrîtoarele: oricine se va atinge de ele moarte, va fi necurat pînă seara.

these the unclean to you among all which are teeming; any one who is coming against them in their death is unclean till the evening.

32 O rice lucru pe care va cădea ceva din trupurile lor moarte, va fi necurat, fie vas de lemn, fie haină, fie piele, fie sac, fie orice alt lucru care se întrebuinţează la ceva; să fie pus în apă, şi va rămînea necurat pînă seara; după aceea va fi curat.

`And anything on which any one of them falleth, in their death, is unclean, of any vessel of wood or garment or skin or sack, any vessel in which work is done is brought into water, and hath been unclean till the evening, then it hath been clean;

33 T ot ce se va găsi într'un vas de pămînt în care va cădea ceva din aceste trupuri moarte, va fi necurat, şi veţi sparge vasul.

and any earthen vessel, into the midst of which one of them falleth, all that in its midst is unclean, and it ye do break.

34 O rice lucru de mîncare, pe care va cădea ceva din apa aceasta, va fi necurat; şi orice băutură care se întrebuinţează la băut, oricare ar fi vasul în care se va găsi, va fi necurată.

`Of all the food which is eaten, that on which cometh water, is unclean, and all drink which is drunk in any vessel is unclean;

35 O rice lucru, pe care va cădea ceva din trupurile lor moarte, va fi necurat; cuptorul şi vatra să se dărîme: vor fi necurate, şi le veţi privi ca necurate.

and anything on which of their carcase falleth is unclean (oven or double pots), it is broken down, unclean they, yea, unclean they are to you.

36 N umai izvoarele şi fîntînile, cari alcătuiesc grămezi de ape, vor rămînea curate; dar cine se va atinge de trupurile lor moarte, va fi necurat.

`Only -- a fountain or pit, a collection of water, is clean, but that which is coming against their carcase is unclean;

37 D acă se întîmplă să cadă ceva din trupurile lor moarte pe o sămînţă care trebuie sămănată, ea va rămînea curată.

and when of their carcase falleth on any sown seed which is sown -- it clean;

38 D ar dacă se pusese apă pe sămînţă, şi cade pe ea ceva din trupurile lor moarte, va fi necurată.

and when water is put on the seed, and of its carcase hath fallen on it -- unclean it to you.

39 D acă moare una din vitele cari vă slujesc ca hrană, cine se va atinge de trupul ei mort, va fi necurat pînă seara;

`And when any of the beasts which are to you for food dieth, he who is coming against its carcase is unclean till the evening;

40 c ine va mînca din trupul ei mort, îşi va spăla hainele şi va fi necurat pînă seara; şi cine va purta trupul ei mort, îşi va spăla hainele şi va fi necurat pînă seara.

and he who is eating of its carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening; and he who is lifting up its carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening.

41 P e orice tîrîtoare care se tîrăşte pe pămînt, s'o priviţi ca necurată; să nu se mănînce.

`And every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth is an abomination, it is not eaten;

42 D in toate tîrîtoarele cari se tîrăsc pe pămînt, din toate cele ce se tîrăsc pe pîntece, să nu mîncaţi; nici din toate cele ce umblă pe patru picioare sau pe un mare număr de picioare; ci să le priviţi ca o urîciune.

any thing going on the belly, and any going on four, unto every multiplier of feet, to every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth -- ye do not eat them, for they an abomination;

43 S ă nu vă faceţi urîcioşi prin toate aceste tîrîtoare cari se tîrăsc; să nu vă faceţi necuraţi prin ele, să nu vă spurcaţi prin ele.

ye do not make yourselves abominable with any teeming thing which is teeming, nor do ye make yourselves unclean with them, so that ye have been unclean thereby.

44 C ăci Eu sînt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru; voi să vă sfinţiţi, şi fiţi sfinţi, căci Eu sînt sfînt; să nu vă faceţi necuraţi prin toate aceste tîrîtoare cari se tîrăsc pe pămînt.

`For I Jehovah your God, and ye have sanctified yourselves, and ye have been holy, for I holy; and ye do not defile your persons with any teeming thing which is creeping on the earth;

45 C ăci Eu sînt Domnul, care v'am scos din ţara Egiptului, ca să fiu Dumnezeul vostru, şi să fiţi sfinţi; căci Eu sînt sfînt.

for I Jehovah who am bringing you up out of the land of Egypt to become your God; and ye have been holy, for I holy.

46 A ceasta este legea privitoare la dobitoacele, păsările, toate vieţuitoarele cari se mişcă în ape, şi toate vietăţile cari se tîrăsc pe pămînt,

`This a law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature which is moving in the waters, and of every creature which is teeming on the earth,

47 c a să faceţi deosebire între ce este necurat şi ce este curat, între dobitocul care se mănîncă şi dobitocul care nu se mănîncă.``

to make separation between the unclean and the pure, and between the beast that is eaten, and the beast that is not eaten.'
