1 L 'Éternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron, et leur dit:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying unto them,

2 P arlez aux enfants d'Israël, et dites: Voici les animaux dont vous mangerez parmi toutes les bêtes qui sont sur la terre.

`Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, This the beast which ye do eat out of all the beasts which on the earth:

3 V ous mangerez de tout animal qui a la corne fendue, le pied fourchu, et qui rumine.

any dividing a hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hoofs, bringing up the cud, among the beasts, it ye do eat.

4 M ais vous ne mangerez pas de ceux qui ruminent seulement, ou qui ont la corne fendue seulement. Ainsi, vous ne mangerez pas le chameau, qui rumine, mais qui n'a pas la corne fendue: vous le regarderez comme impur.

`Only, this ye do not eat -- of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the hoof -- the camel, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof not dividing -- it unclean to you;

5 V ous ne mangerez pas le daman, qui rumine, mais qui n'a pas la corne fendue: vous le regarderez comme impur.

and the rabbit, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof it divideth not -- unclean it to you;

6 V ous ne mangerez pas le lièvre, qui rumine, mais qui n'a pas la corne fendue: vous le regarderez comme impur.

and the hare, though it is bringing up the cud, yet the hoof hath not divided -- unclean it to you;

7 V ous ne mangerez pas le porc, qui a la corne fendue et le pied fourchu, mais qui ne rumine pas: vous le regarderez comme impur.

and the sow, though it is dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft of the hoof, yet the cud it bringeth not up -- unclean it to you.

8 V ous ne mangerez pas de leur chair, et vous ne toucherez pas leurs corps morts: vous les regarderez comme impurs.

`Of their flesh ye do not eat, and against their carcase ye do not come -- unclean they to you.

9 V oici les animaux dont vous mangerez parmi tous ceux qui sont dans les eaux. Vous mangerez de tous ceux qui ont des nageoires et des écailles, et qui sont dans les eaux, soit dans les mers, soit dans les rivières.

`This ye do eat of all which in the waters; any one that hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the brooks, them ye do eat;

10 M ais vous aurez en abomination tous ceux qui n'ont pas des nageoires et des écailles, parmi tout ce qui se meut dans les eaux et tout ce qui est vivant dans les eaux, soit dans les mers, soit dans les rivières.

and any one that hath not fins and scales in the seas, and in the brooks, of any teeming creature of the waters, and of any creature which liveth, which in the waters -- an abomination they to you;

11 V ous les aurez en abomination, vous ne mangerez pas de leur chair, et vous aurez en abomination leurs corps morts.

yea, an abomination they are to you; of their flesh ye do not eat, and their carcase ye abominate.

12 V ous aurez en abomination tous ceux qui, dans les eaux, n'ont pas des nageoires et des écailles.

`Any one that hath not fins and scales in the waters -- an abomination it to you.

13 V oici, parmi les oiseaux, ceux que vous aurez en abomination, et dont on ne mangera pas: l'aigle, l'orfraie et l'aigle de mer;

`And these ye do abominate of the fowl; they are not eaten, an abomination they: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

14 l e milan, l'autour et ce qui est de son espèce;

and the vulture, and the kite after its kind,

15 l e corbeau et toutes ses espèces;

every raven after its kind,

16 l 'autruche, le hibou, la mouette, l'épervier et ce qui est de son espèce;

and the owl, and the night-hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after its kind,

17 l e chat-huant, le plongeon et la chouette;

and the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

18 l e cygne, le pélican et le cormoran;

and the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

19 l a cigogne, le héron et ce qui est de son espèce, la huppe et la chauve-souris.

and the stork, the heron after its kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

20 V ous aurez en abomination tout reptile qui vole et qui marche sur quatre pieds.

`Every teeming creature which is flying, which is going on four -- an abomination it to you.

21 M ais, parmi tous les reptiles qui volent et qui marchent sur quatre pieds, vous mangerez ceux qui ont des jambes au-dessus de leurs pieds, pour sauter sur la terre.

`Only -- this ye do eat of any teeming thing which is flying, which is going on four, which hath legs above its feet, to move with them on the earth;

22 V oici ceux que vous mangerez: la sauterelle, le solam, le hargol et le hagab, selon leurs espèces.

these of them ye do eat: the locust after its kind, and the bald locust after its kind, and the beetle after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind;

23 V ous aurez en abomination tous les autres reptiles qui volent et qui ont quatre pieds.

and every teeming thing which is flying, which hath four feet -- an abomination it to you.

24 I ls vous rendront impurs: quiconque touchera leurs corps morts sera impur jusqu'au soir,

`And by these ye are made unclean, any one who is coming against their carcase is unclean till the evening;

25 e t quiconque portera leurs corps morts lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir.

and anyone who is lifting up of their carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening: --

26 V ous regarderez comme impur tout animal qui a la corne fendue, mais qui n'a pas le pied fourchu et qui ne rumine pas: quiconque le touchera sera impur.

even every beast which is dividing the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, and the cud is not bringing up -- unclean they to you; any one who is coming against them is unclean.

27 V ous regarderez comme impurs tous ceux des animaux à quatre pieds qui marchent sur leurs pattes: quiconque touchera leurs corps morts sera impur jusqu'au soir,

`And any one going on its paws, among all the beasts which are going on four -- unclean they to you; any one who is coming against their carcase is unclean until the evening;

28 e t quiconque portera leurs corps morts lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir. Vous les regarderez comme impurs.

and he who is lifting up their carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean until the evening -- unclean they to you.

29 V oici, parmi les animaux qui rampent sur la terre, ceux que vous regarderez comme impurs: la taupe, la souris et le lézard, selon leurs espèces;

`And this to you the unclean among the teeming things which are teeming on the earth: the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after its kind,

30 l e hérisson, la grenouille, la tortue, le limaçon et le caméléon.

and the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole;

31 V ous les regarderez comme impurs parmi tous les reptiles: quiconque les touchera morts sera impur jusqu'au soir.

these the unclean to you among all which are teeming; any one who is coming against them in their death is unclean till the evening.

32 T out objet sur lequel tombera quelque chose de leurs corps morts sera souillé, ustensiles de bois, vêtement, peau, sac, tout objet dont on fait usage; il sera mis dans l'eau, et restera souillé jusqu'au soir; après quoi, il sera pur.

`And anything on which any one of them falleth, in their death, is unclean, of any vessel of wood or garment or skin or sack, any vessel in which work is done is brought into water, and hath been unclean till the evening, then it hath been clean;

33 T out ce qui se trouvera dans un vase de terre où il en tombera quelque chose, sera souillé, et vous briserez le vase.

and any earthen vessel, into the midst of which one of them falleth, all that in its midst is unclean, and it ye do break.

34 T out aliment qui sert à la nourriture, et sur lequel il sera tombé de cette eau, sera souillé; et toute boisson dont on fait usage, quel que soit le vase qui la contienne, sera souillée.

`Of all the food which is eaten, that on which cometh water, is unclean, and all drink which is drunk in any vessel is unclean;

35 T out objet sur lequel tombera quelque chose de leurs corps morts sera souillé; le four et le foyer seront détruits: ils seront souillés, et vous les regarderez comme souillés.

and anything on which of their carcase falleth is unclean (oven or double pots), it is broken down, unclean they, yea, unclean they are to you.

36 I l n'y aura que les sources et les citernes, formant des amas d'eaux, qui resteront pures; mais celui qui y touchera de leurs corps morts sera impur.

`Only -- a fountain or pit, a collection of water, is clean, but that which is coming against their carcase is unclean;

37 S 'il tombe quelque chose de leurs corps morts sur une semence qui doit être semée, elle restera pure;

and when of their carcase falleth on any sown seed which is sown -- it clean;

38 m ais si l'on a mis de l'eau sur la semence, et qu'il y tombe quelque chose de leurs corps morts, vous la regarderez comme souillée.

and when water is put on the seed, and of its carcase hath fallen on it -- unclean it to you.

39 S 'il meurt un des animaux qui vous servent de nourriture, celui qui touchera son corps mort sera impur jusqu'au soir;

`And when any of the beasts which are to you for food dieth, he who is coming against its carcase is unclean till the evening;

40 c elui qui mangera de son corps mort lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir, et celui qui portera son corps mort lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir.

and he who is eating of its carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening; and he who is lifting up its carcase doth wash his garments, and hath been unclean till the evening.

41 V ous aurez en abomination tout reptile qui rampe sur la terre: on n'en mangera point.

`And every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth is an abomination, it is not eaten;

42 V ous ne mangerez point, parmi tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre, de tous ceux qui se traînent sur le ventre, ni de tous ceux qui marchent sur quatre pieds ou sur un grand nombre de pieds; car vous les aurez en abomination.

any thing going on the belly, and any going on four, unto every multiplier of feet, to every teeming thing which is teeming on the earth -- ye do not eat them, for they an abomination;

43 N e rendez point vos personnes abominables par tous ces reptiles qui rampent; ne vous rendez point impurs par eux, ne vous souillez point par eux.

ye do not make yourselves abominable with any teeming thing which is teeming, nor do ye make yourselves unclean with them, so that ye have been unclean thereby.

44 C ar je suis l'Éternel, votre Dieu; vous vous sanctifierez, et vous serez saints, car je suis saint; et vous ne vous rendrez point impurs par tous ces reptiles qui rampent sur la terre.

`For I Jehovah your God, and ye have sanctified yourselves, and ye have been holy, for I holy; and ye do not defile your persons with any teeming thing which is creeping on the earth;

45 C ar je suis l'Éternel, qui vous ai fait monter du pays d'Égypte, pour être votre Dieu, et pour que vous soyez saints; car je suis saint.

for I Jehovah who am bringing you up out of the land of Egypt to become your God; and ye have been holy, for I holy.

46 T elle est la loi touchant les animaux, les oiseaux, tous les êtres vivants qui se meuvent dans les eaux, et tous les êtres qui rampent sur la terre,

`This a law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature which is moving in the waters, and of every creature which is teeming on the earth,

47 a fin que vous distinguiez ce qui est impur et ce qui est pur, l'animal qui se mange et l'animal qui ne se mange pas.

to make separation between the unclean and the pure, and between the beast that is eaten, and the beast that is not eaten.'
