1 P our ce qui concerne la collecte en faveur des saints, agissez, vous aussi, comme je l'ai ordonné aux Églises de la Galatie.

And concerning the collection that for the saints, as I directed to the assemblies of Galatia, so also ye -- do ye;

2 Q ue chacun de vous, le premier jour de la semaine, mette à part chez lui ce qu'il pourra, selon sa prospérité, afin qu'on n'attende pas mon arrivée pour recueillir les dons.

on every first of the week, let each one of you lay by him, treasuring up whatever he may have prospered, that when I may come then collections may not be made;

3 E t quand je serai venu, j'enverrai avec des lettres, pour porter vos libéralités à Jérusalem, les personnes que vous aurez approuvées.

and whenever I may come, whomsoever ye may approve, through letters, these I will send to carry your favour to Jerusalem;

4 S i la chose mérite que j'y aille moi-même, elles feront le voyage avec moi.

and if it be meet for me also to go, with me they shall go.

5 J 'irai chez vous quand j'aurai traversé la Macédoine, car je traverserai la Macédoine.

And I will come unto you, when I pass through Macedonia -- for Macedonia I do pass through --

6 P eut-être séjournerai-je auprès de vous, ou même y passerai-je l'hiver, afin que vous m'accompagniez là où je me rendrai.

and with you, it may be, I will abide, or even winter, that ye may send me forward whithersoever I go,

7 J e ne veux pas cette fois vous voir en passant, mais j'espère demeurer quelque temps auprès de vous, si le Seigneur le permet.

for I do not wish to see you now in the passing, but I hope to remain a certain time with you, if the Lord may permit;

8 J e resterai néanmoins à Éphèse jusqu'à la Pentecôte;

and I will remain in Ephesus till the Pentecost,

9 c ar une porte grande et d'un accès efficace m'est ouverte, et les adversaires sont nombreux.

for a door to me hath been opened -- great and effectual -- and withstanders many.

10 S i Timothée arrive, faites en sorte qu'il soit sans crainte parmi vous, car il travaille comme moi à l'oeuvre du Seigneur.

And if Timotheus may come, see that he may become without fear with you, for the work of the Lord he doth work, even as I,

11 Q ue personne donc ne le méprise. Accompagnez-le en paix, afin qu'il vienne vers moi, car je l'attends avec les frères.

no one, then, may despise him; and send ye him forward in peace, that he may come to me, for I expect him with the brethren;

12 P our ce qui est du frère Apollos, je l'ai beaucoup exhorté à se rendre chez vous avec les frères, mais ce n'était décidément pas sa volonté de le faire maintenant; il partira quand il en aura l'occasion.

and concerning Apollos our brother, much I did entreat him that he may come unto you with the brethren, and it was not at all will that he may come now, and he will come when he may find convenient.

13 V eillez, demeurez fermes dans la foi, soyez des hommes, fortifiez-vous.

Watch ye, stand in the faith; be men, be strong;

14 Q ue tout ce que vous faites se fasse avec charité!

let all your things be done in love.

15 E ncore une recommandation que je vous adresse, frères. Vous savez que la famille de Stéphanas est les prémices de l'Achaïe, et qu'elle s'est dévouée au service des saints.

And I entreat you, brethren, ye have known the household of Stephanas, that it is the first-fruit of Achaia, and to the ministration to the saints they did set themselves --

16 A yez vous aussi de la déférence pour de tels hommes, et pour tous ceux qui travaillent à la même oeuvre.

that ye also be subject to such, and to every one who is working with and labouring;

17 J e me réjouis de la présence de Stéphanas, de Fortunatus et d'Achaïcus; ils ont suppléé à votre absence,

and I rejoice over the presence of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus, because the lack of you did these fill up;

18 c ar ils ont tranquillisé mon esprit et le vôtre. Sachez donc apprécier de tels hommes.

for they did refresh my spirit and yours; acknowledge ye, therefore, those who such.

19 L es Églises d'Asie vous saluent. Aquilas et Priscille, avec l'Église qui est dans leur maison, vous saluent beaucoup dans le Seigneur.

Salute you do the assemblies of Asia; salute you much in the Lord do Aquilas and Priscilla, with the assembly in their house;

20 T ous les frères vous saluent. Saluez-vous les uns les autres par un saint baiser.

salute you do all the brethren; salute ye one another in an holy kiss.

21 J e vous salue, moi Paul, de ma propre main.

The salutation of Paul with my hand;

22 S i quelqu'un n'aime pas le Seigneur, qu'il soit anathème! Maranatha.

if any one doth not love the Lord Jesus Christ -- let him be anathema! The Lord hath come!

23 Q ue la grâce du Seigneur Jésus soit avec vous!

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ with you;

24 M on amour est avec vous tous en Jésus Christ.

my love with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
