6 A Schemaeja, son fils, naquirent des fils qui dominèrent dans la maison de leur père, car ils étaient de vaillants hommes;

Sons of Shemaiah Othni, and Rephael, and Obed, Elzabad; his brethren sons of valour, Elihu and Semachiah,

8 T ous ceux-là étaient des fils d'Obed Édom; eux, leurs fils et leurs frères, étaient des hommes pleins de vigueur et de force pour le service, soixante deux d'Obed Édom.

all these of the sons of Obed-Edom; they, and their sons, and their brethren, men of valour with might for service, sixty and two of Obed-Edom.

9 L es fils et les frères de Meschélémia, hommes vaillants, étaient au nombre de dix-huit. -

And to Meshelemiah sons and brethren, sons of valour, eighteen;

10 D es fils de Merari: Hosa, qui avait pour fils: Schimri, le chef, établi chef par son père, quoiqu'il ne fût pas le premier-né,

and to Hosah, of the sons of Merari, sons: Shimri the head (though he was not first-born, yet his father setteth him for head),

11 H ilkija le second, Thebalia le troisième, Zacharie le quatrième. Tous les fils et les frères de Hosa étaient au nombre de treize.

Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth; all the sons and brethren of Hosah thirteen.

12 A ces classes de portiers, aux chefs de ces hommes et à leurs frères, fut remise la garde pour le service de la maison de l'Éternel.

According to these the courses of the gatekeepers; to the heads of the mighty ones charges over-against their brethren, to minister in the house of Jehovah,

13 I ls tirèrent au sort pour chaque porte, petits et grands, selon leurs maisons paternelles.

and they cause to fall lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for gate and gate.

14 L e sort échut à Schélémia pour le côté de l'orient. On tira au sort pour Zacharie, son fils, qui était un sage conseiller, et le côté du septentrion lui échut par le sort.

And the lot falleth eastward to Shelemiah; and Zechariah his son -- a counsellor with understanding -- they cause to fall lots, and his lot goeth out northward:

15 L e côté du midi échut à Obed Édom, et la maison des magasins à ses fils.

to Obed-Edom southward, and to his sons, the house of the gatherings;

16 L e côté de l'occident échut à Schuppim et à Hosa, avec la porte Schalléketh, sur le chemin montant: une garde était vis-à-vis de l'autre.

to Shuppim and to Hosah to the west, with the gate Shallecheth, in the highway, the ascent, charge over-against charge;

17 I l y avait à l'orient six Lévites, au nord quatre par jour, au midi quatre par jour, et quatre aux magasins en deux places différentes;

to the east the Levites six; to the north daily four, to the south daily four, and to the gatherings two by two,

18 d u côté du faubourg, à l'occident, quatre vers le chemin, deux vers le faubourg.

19 C e sont là les classes des portiers, d'entre les fils des Koréites et d'entre les fils de Merari.

20 L 'un des Lévites, Achija, avait l'intendance des trésors de la maison de Dieu et des trésors des choses saintes.

And of the Levites, Ahijah over the treasures of the house of God, even for the treasures of the holy things.

for the Amramite, for the Izharite, for the Hebronite, for the Uzzielite.

24 c 'était Schebuel, fils de Guerschom, fils de Moïse, qui était intendant des trésors.

And Shebuel son of Gershom, son of Moses, president over the treasures.

25 P armi ses frères issus d'Éliézer, dont le fils fut Rechabia, dont le fils fut Ésaïe, dont le fils fut Joram, dont le fils fut Zicri, dont le fils fut Schelomith,

And his brethren, of Eliezer, Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomith his son.

26 c 'étaient Schelomith et ses frères qui gardaient tous les trésors des choses saintes qu'avaient consacrées le roi David, les chefs des maisons paternelles, les chefs de milliers et de centaines, et les chefs de l'armée:

This Shelomith and his brethren over all the treasures of the holy things, that David the king, and heads of the fathers, even heads of thousands, and of hundreds, and heads of the host, sanctified;

27 c 'était sur le butin pris à la guerre qu'ils les avaient consacrées pour l'entretien de la maison de l'Éternel.

from the battles, even from the spoil they sanctified to strengthen the house of Jehovah;

28 T out ce qui avait été consacré par Samuel, le voyant, par Saül, fils de Kis, par Abner, fils de Ner, par Joab, fils de Tseruja, toutes les choses consacrées étaient sous la garde de Schelomith et de ses frères.

and all that Samuel the seer, and Saul son of Kish, and Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah sanctified, every one sanctifying by the side of Shelomith and his brethren.

29 P armi les Jitseharites, Kenania et ses frères étaient employés pour les affaires extérieures, comme magistrats et juges en Israël.

Of the Izharite, Chenaniah and his sons for the outward work over Israel, for officers and for judges.

30 P armi les Hébronites, Haschabia et ses frères, hommes vaillants, au nombre de mille sept cents, avaient la surveillance d'Israël, de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'occident, pour toutes les affaires de l'Éternel et pour le service du roi.

Of the Hebronite, Hashabiah and his brethren, sons of valour, a thousand and seven hundred, over the inspection of Israel, beyond the Jordan westward, for all the work of Jehovah, and for the service of the king.

31 E n ce qui concerne les Hébronites, dont Jerija était le chef, on fit, la quarantième année du règne de David, des recherches à leur égard d'après leurs généalogies et leurs maisons paternelles, et l'on trouva parmi eux de vaillants hommes à Jaezer en Galaad.

Of the Hebronite, Jerijah the head, of the Hebronite, according to his generations, for the fathers -- in the fortieth year of the reign of David they have been sought out, and there are found among them mighty ones of valour, in Jazer of Gilead --

32 L es frères de Jerija, hommes vaillants, étaient au nombre de deux mille sept cents chefs de maisons paternelles. Le roi David les établit sur les Rubénites, sur les Gadites et sur la demi-tribu de Manassé pour toutes les affaires de Dieu et pour les affaires du roi.

and his brethren, sons of valour, two thousand and seven hundred, heads of the fathers, and king David appointeth them over the Reubenite, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, for every matter of God and matter of the king.
