1 D omnul a vorbit lui Moise, şi a zis:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2 V orbeşte lui Aaron, şi spune -i: Cînd vei aşeza candelele în sfeşnic, cele şapte candele vor trebui să lumineze în partea dinainte a sfeşnicului.``

`Speak unto Aaron, and thou hast said unto him, In thy causing the lights to go up, over-against the face of the candlestick do the seven lights give light.'

3 A aron a făcut aşa; a aşezat candelele în partea dinainte a sfeşnicului, cum poruncise lui Moise Domnul.

And Aaron doth so; over-against the face of the candlestick he hath caused its lights to go up, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

4 S feşnicul era de aur bătut; atît piciorul cît şi florile lui, erau de aur bătut. Moise făcuse sfeşnicul după chipul, pe care i -l arătase Domnul.

And this the work of the candlestick: beaten work of gold; unto its thigh, unto its flower it beaten work; as the appearance which Jehovah shewed Moses, so he hath made the candlestick.

5 D omnul a vorbit lui Moise, şi a zis:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

6 I a pe Leviţi din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel, şi curăţeşte -i.

`Take the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and thou hast cleansed them.

7 I ată cum să -i curăţeşti: Stropeşte -i cu apă ispăşitoare; să lase să treacă briciul peste tot trupul lor, să-şi spele hainele, şi să se curăţească.

`And thus thou dost to them to cleanse them: sprinkle upon them waters of atonement, and they have caused a razor to pass over all their flesh, and have washed their garments, and cleansed themselves,

8 S ă ia apoi un viţel, cu darul de mîncare obicinuit, făcut din floare de făină, frămîntată cu untdelemn; şi să mai iei un alt viţel pentru jertfa de ispăşire.

and have taken a bullock, a son of the herd, and its present, flour mixed with oil, -- and a second bullock a son of the herd thou dost take for a sin-offering,

9 S ă apropii pe Leviţi înaintea cortului întîlnirii, şi să strîngi toată adunarea copiilor lui Israel.

and thou hast brought near the Levites before the tent of meeting, and thou hast assembled the whole company of the sons of Israel,

10 S ă apropii pe Leviţi înaintea Domnului; şi copiii lui Israel să-şi pună mînile pe Leviţi.

and thou hast brought near the Levites before Jehovah, and the sons of Israel have laid their hands on the Levites,

11 A aron să legene pe Leviţi într'o parte şi într'alta înaintea Domnului, ca un dar legănat din partea copiilor lui Israel; şi să fie închinaţi astfel în slujba Domnului.

and Aaron hath waved the Levites -- a wave-offering before Jehovah, from the sons of Israel, and they have been -- for doing the service of Jehovah.

12 L eviţii să-şi pună mînile pe capul viţeilor, şi să aduci unul ca jertfă de ispăşire, şi altul ca ardere de tot, ca să faci ispăşire pentru Leviţi.

`And the Levites lay their hands on the head of the bullocks, and make thou the one a sin-offering, and the one a burnt-offering to Jehovah, to atone for the Levites,

13 S ă pui pe Leviţi în picioare înaintea lui Aaron şi înaintea fiilor lui, şi să -i legeni într'o parte şi într'alta, ca un dar legănat Domnului.

and thou hast caused the Levites to stand before Aaron, and before his sons, and hast waved them -- a wave-offering to Jehovah;

14 A şa să desparţi pe Leviţi din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel; şi Leviţii vor fi ai Mei.

and thou hast separated the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and the Levites have become Mine;

15 D upă aceea, Leviţii să vină să facă slujba în cortul întîlnirii. Astfel să -i curăţeşti şi să -i legeni într'o parte şi într'alta, ca un dar legănat.

and afterwards do the Levites come in to serve the tent of meeting, and thou hast cleansed them, and hast waved them -- a wave-offering.

16 C ăci ei Îmi sînt daţi cu totul din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel: Eu i-am luat pentru Mine în locul întîilor născuţi, din toţi întîii născuţi ai copiilor lui Israel.

`For they are certainly given to Me out of the midst of the sons of Israel, instead of him who openeth any womb -- the first-born of all -- from the sons of Israel I have taken them to Myself;

17 C ăci orice întîi născut al copiilor lui Israel este al Meu, atît din oameni cît şi din dobitoace; Mie Mi i-am închinat în ziua cînd am lovit pe toţi întîii născuţi în ţara Egiptului.

for Mine every first-born among the sons of Israel, among man and among beast; in the day of my smiting every first-born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for Myself;

18 Ş i Eu am luat pe Leviţi în locul tuturor întîilor născuţi ai copiilor lui Israel.

and I take the Levites instead of every first-born among the sons of Israel:

19 A m dat pe Leviţi în totul lui Aaron şi fiilor lui, din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel, ca să facă slujbă pentru copiii lui Israel în cortul întîlnirii, să facă ispăşire pentru copiii lui Israel, şi astfel copiii lui Israel să nu fie loviţi cu nici o urgie, cînd se vor apropia de sfîntul locaş.``

`And I give the Levites gifts to Aaron and to his sons, from the midst of the sons of Israel, to do the service of the sons of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the sons of Israel, and there is no plague among the sons of Israel in the sons of Israel's drawing nigh unto the sanctuary.'

20 M oise, Aaron şi toată adunarea copiilor lui Israel, au făcut cu Leviţii tot ce poruncise lui Moise Domnul despre Leviţi; aşa au făcut copiii lui Israel cu ei.

And Moses doth -- Aaron also, and all the company of the sons of Israel -- to the Levites according to all that Jehovah hath commanded Moses concerning the Levites; so have the sons of Israel done to them.

21 L eviţii s'au curăţit, şi şi-au spălat hainele. Aaron i -a legănat într'o parte şi într'alta, ca un dar legănat înaintea Domnului, şi a făcut ispăşire pentru ei, ca să -i curăţească.

And the Levites cleanse themselves, and wash their garments, and Aaron waveth them a wave-offering before Jehovah, and Aaron maketh atonement for them to cleanse them,

22 D upă aceea, Leviţii au venit să-şi facă slujba în cortul întîlnirii, în faţa lui Aaron şi a fiilor lui. Întocmai cum poruncise lui Moise Domnul cu privire la Leviţi, aşa s'a făcut cu ei.

and afterwards have the Levites gone in to do their service in the tent of meeting, before Aaron and before his sons; as Jehovah hath commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they have done to them.

23 D omnul a vorbit lui Moise, şi a zis:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

24 I ată legea privitoare la Leviţi. Dela vîrsta de douăzeci şi cinci de ani în sus, orice Levit va intra în slujba cortului întîlnirii ca să îndeplinească o slujbă acolo.

`This that which the Levites': from a son of five and twenty years and upward he doth go in to serve the host in the service of the tent of meeting,

25 D ela vîrsta de cincizeci de ani încolo, să iasă din slujbă, şi să nu mai slujească.

and from a son of fifty years he doth return from the host of the service, and doth not serve any more,

26 V a putea să ajute pe fraţii lui în cortul întîlnirii, să păzească ce le este dat în grijă; dar să nu mai facă slujbă. Aşa să faci cu Leviţii în ce priveşte slujbele lor.``

and he hath ministered with his brethren in the tent of meeting, to keep the charge, and doth not do service; thus thou dost to the Levites concerning their charge.'
