1 І сталося по тому, і побив Давид филистимлян та поконав їх; і взяв він Ґат та належні йому міста з руки филистимлян.

And it cometh to pass after this, that David smiteth the Philistines, and humbleth them, and taketh Gath and its small towns out of the hand of the Philistines;

2 І побив він Моава, і стали моавітяни Давидовими рабами, що приносили дари.

and he smiteth Moab, and the Moabites are servants to David, bringing a present.

3 І побив Давид Гадад'езера, царя цовського, в Хаматі, коли той ішов, щоб поставити владу свою на річці Ефраті.

And David smiteth Hadarezer king of Zobah, at Hamath, in his going to establish his power by the river Phrat,

4 І здобув Давид від нього тисячі колесниць і сім тисяч верхівців та двадцять тисяч пішого люду. І попідрізував Давид жили коням усіх колесниць, і позоставив із них тільки сотню для колесниць.

and David captureth from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David destroyeth utterly all the chariots, and leaveth of them a hundred chariots.

5 І прийшов Арам із Дамаску на поміч Гадад'езерові, цареві цовському, та Давид вибив серед сиріян двадцять і дві тисячі чоловіка.

And Aram of Damascus cometh in to give help to Hadarezer king of Zobah, and David smiteth in Aram twenty and two thousand men,

6 І поставив Давид у Сирії Дамаській залогу, і сиріяни стали для Давида рабами, що приносили дари. А Господь допомагав Давидові скрізь, де він ходив.

and David putteth in Aram of Damascus, and the Aramaeans are to David for servants, bearing a present, and Jehovah giveth salvation to David whithersoever he hath gone.

7 І позабирав Давид золоті щити, що були на Гадад'езерових рабах, і позносив їх до Єрусалиму.

And David taketh the shields of gold that have been on the servants of Hadarezer, and bringeth them in to Jerusalem;

8 А з Тівхату та з Куну, Гадад'езерових міст, позабирав Давид дуже багато міді, з неї поробив Соломон мідяне море й стовпи, та мідяні речі.

and from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, hath David taken very much brass; with it hath Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

9 І прочув Тоу, цар хамотський, що Давид побив усе військо Гадад'езера, царя цовського.

And Tou king of Hamath heareth that David hath smitten the whole force of Hadarezer king of Zobah,

10 І послав він сина свого Гадорама до царя Давида, щоб привітати його, та щоб поблагословити його за те, що воював із Гадад'езером та й побив його, бо Гадад'езер провадив війну з Тоу, а з ним послав всякі речі золоті, і срібні, і мідяні.

and he sendeth Hadoram his son unto king David, to ask of him of peace, and to bless him (because that he hath fought against Hadarezer, and smiteth him, for a man of wars with Tou had Hadarezer been,) and all kinds of vessels, of gold, and silver, and brass;

11 І Давид присвятив їх Господеві разом із тим сріблом та золотом, що повиносив від усіх народів з Едому, і з Моаву, і від Аммонових синів та від Амалика.

also them hath king David sanctified to Jehovah with the silver and the gold that he hath taken from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

12 А Авшай, син Церуїн, побив Едома в Соляній долині, вісімнадцять тисяч.

And Abishai son of Zeruiah hath smitten Edom in the valley of salt -- eighteen thousand,

13 І поставив він в Едомі залогу, і став увесь Едом Давидовими рабами. А Господь допомагав Давидові скрізь, де він ходив.

and he putteth in Edom garrisons, and all the Edomites are servants to David; and Jehovah saveth David whithersoever he hath gone.

14 І царював Давид над усім Ізраїлем, і чинив суд та справедливість усьому своєму народові.

And David reigneth over all Israel, and he is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,

15 А Йоав, син Церуїн, був над військом, а Йосафат, син Ахілудів, канцлер.

and Joab son of Zeruiah over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud remembrancer,

16 А Садок, син Ахітувів, та Авімелех, син Ев'ятарів, були священики, а Шавша писар.

and Zadok son of Ahitub, and Abimelech son of Abiathar, priests, and Shavsha scribe,

17 А Беная, син Єгоядин, був над керетянином та над пелетянином, а Давидові сини перші при царевій руці.

and Benaiah son of Jehoiada over the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the elder sons of David at the hand of the king.
