1 І сталося, як був збудований мур, то повставляв я двері, і були понаставлювані придверні, співаки та Левити.

And it cometh to pass, when the wall hath been built, that I set up the doors, and the gatekeepers are appointed, and the singers, and the Levites,

2 І призначив я над Єрусалимом свого брата Ханані та зверхника твердині Хананію, бо він був чоловік правдивий, і Бога боявся більше від багатьох інших.

and I charge Hanani my brother, and Hananiah head of the palace, concerning Jerusalem -- for he as a man of truth, and fearing God above many --

3 І сказав я до них: Нехай не відчиняються єрусалимські брами аж до спеки сонця. І поки вони самі стоять, нехай позамикають двері, і так тримайте. І поставити варти з єрусалимських мешканців, кожного на його сторожі, і кожного навпроти його дому!

and I say to them, `Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened till the heat of the sun, and while they are standing by let them shut the doors, and fasten, and appoint guards of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each in his guard, and each over-against his house.'

4 А місто було широко-просторе й велике, та народу в ньому мало, і доми не були побудовані.

And the city broad on both sides, and great, and the people few in its midst, and there are no houses builded;

5 І поклав мені Бог мій на серце моє зібрати шляхетних, і заступників та народ, щоб переписати. І знайшов я книжку перепису тих, хто прийшов перше, а в ній я знайшов написане таке:

and my God putteth it unto my heart, and I gather the freeman, and the prefects, and the people, for the genealogy, and I find a book of the genealogy of those coming up at the beginning, and I find written in it: --

6 О це виходьки з округи, що прийшли з полону вигнання, яких вигнав був Навуходоносор, цар вавилонський, і вони повернулися до Єрусалиму та до Юдеї, кожен до міста свого,

These sons of the province, those coming up of the captives of the removal that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed -- and they turn back to Jerusalem and to Judah, each to his city --

7 т і, що прийшли були з Зоровавелем, Ісусом, Неемією, Азарією, Раамією, Нахаманієм, Мордехаєм, Білшаном, Місперетом, Біґваєм, Нехумом, Бааною. Число людей Ізраїлевого народу:

who are coming in with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. Number of the men of the people of Israel:

8 с инів Пар'ошових дві тисячі сто й сімдесят і два,

Sons of Parosh: two thousand a hundred and seventy and two.

9 с инів Шеватіїних три сотні і сімдесят і два,

Sons of Shephatiah: three hundred seventy and two.

10 с инів Арахових шість сотень п'ятдесят і два,

Sons of Arah: six hundred fifty and two.

11 с инів Пахат-Моавових, із синів Ісусових та Йоавових дві тисячі й вісім сотень вісімнадцять,

Sons of Pahath-Moab, of the sons of Jeshua and Joab: two thousand and eight hundred eighteen.

12 с инів Еламових тисяча двісті п'ятдесят і чотири,

Sons of Elam: a thousand two hundred fifty and four.

13 с инів Заттуєвих вісім сотень сорок і п'ять,

Sons of Zattu: eight hundred forty and five.

14 с инів Заккаєвих сім сотень і шістдесят,

Sons of Zaccai: seven hundred and sixty.

15 с инів Біннуєвих шість сотень сорок і вісім,

Sons of Binnui: six hundred forty and eight.

16 с инів Беваєвих шість сотень двадцять і вісім,

Sons of Bebai: six hundred twenty and eight.

17 с инів Азґадових дві тисячі три сотні двадцять і два,

Sons of Azgad: two thousand three hundred twenty and two.

18 с инів Адонікамових шість сотень шістдесят і сім,

Sons of Adonikam: six hundred sixty and seven.

19 с инів Біґваєвих дві тисячі шістдесят і сім,

Sons of Bigvai: two thousand sixty and seven.

20 с инів Адінових шість сотень п'ятдесят і п'ять,

Sons of Adin: six hundred fifty and five.

21 с инів Атерових, з синів Хізкійїних дев'ятдесят і вісім,

23 с инів Бецаєвих три сотні двадцять і чотири,

32 л юдей з Бет-Елу та Аю сто двадцять і три,

Men of Bethel and Ai: a hundred twenty and three.

33 л юдей з Нево Другого п'ятдесят і два,

Men of the other Nebo: fifty and two.

46 Х рамових підданців: сини Ціхині, сини Хасуфині, сини Таббаотові,

Sons of the servants of Solomon: sons of Sotai, sons of Sophereth, sons of Perida,

58 с ини Яалині, сини Дарконові, сини Ґідделові,

sons of Jaala, sons of Darkon, sons of Giddel,

59 с ини Шефатіїні, сини Хаттілові, сини Похерет-Гаццеваїмові, сини Амонові,

sons of Shephatiah, sons of Hattil, sons of Pochereth of Zebaim, sons of Amon.

60 у сього цих храмових підданців та синів Соломонових рабів три сотні дев'ятдесят і два.

All the Nethinim and the sons of the servants of Solomon three hundred ninety and two.

61 А оце ті, що прийшли з Тел-Мелаху, з Тел-Харші, Керув-Аддону та Іммеру, та не могли довести роду батьків своїх та свого насіння, чи вони з Ізраїля:

And these those coming up from Tel-Melah, Tel-Harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer -- and they have not been able to declare the house of their fathers, and their seed, whether they of Israel --

62 с инів Делаїних, синів Товійїних, синів Некодиних шість сотень сорок і два.

sons of Delaiah, sons of Tobiah, sons of Nekoda, six hundred forty and two.

63 А з священиків: сини Ховаїні, сини Коцові, сини Барзіллая, що взяв жінку з дочок ґілеадянина Барзіллая, і став зватися їхнім ім'ям.

And of the priests: sons of Habaiah sons of Koz, sons of Barzillai, who hath taken from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite a wife, and is called by their name.

64 В они шукали запису свого родоводу, але він не знайшовся, і були вони вилучені зо священства,

These have sought their register among those reckoning themselves by genealogy, and it hath not been found, and they are redeemed from the priesthood,

65 а намісник сказав їм, щоб вони не їли зо Святого Святих, аж поки не стане священик до уріму та тумміму.

and the Tirshatha saith to them that they eat not of the most holy things till the standing up of the priest with Urim and Thummim.

66 У сього збору разом сорок дві тисячі триста й шістдесят,

All the assembly together four myriads two thousand three hundred and sixty,

67 о крім їхніх рабів та їхніх невільниць, цих було сім тисяч триста тридцять і сім; а в них співаків та співачок двісті й сорок і п'ять.

apart from their servants and their handmaids -- these seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven; and of them singers and songstresses, two hundred forty and five.

68 Ї хніх коней було сім сотень тридцять і шість, їхніх мулів двісті сорок і п'ять,

Their horses seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;

69 в ерблюдів чотири сотні тридцять і п'ять, ослів шість тисяч і сім сотень і двадцять.

camels, four hundred thirty and five; asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

70 А частина голів батьківських родів дали на працю: намісник дав до скарбниці: золота тисячу дарейків, кропильниць п'ятдесят, священичих шат п'ятсот і тридцять.

And from the extremity of the heads of the fathers they have given to the work; the Tirshatha hath given to the treasure, of gold, drams a thousand, bowls fifty, priests' coats thirty and five hundred.

71 А з голів батьківських родів дали до скарбниці на працю: золота двадцять тисяч дарейків, а срібла дві тисячі й двісті мін.

And of the heads of the fathers they have given to the treasure of the work, of gold, drams two myriads, and of silver, pounds two thousand and two hundred.

72 А що дала решта народу: золота двадцять тисяч дарейків, а срібла дві тисячі мін, а священичих шат шістдесят і сім.

And that which the rest of the people have given of gold, drams two myriads, and of silver, pounds two thousand, and of priests coats, sixty and seven.

73 І осілися священики, і Левити, і придверні, і співаки, і дехто з народу, і храмові підданці, і ввесь Ізраїль по своїх містах. Як настав сьомий місяць, то Ізраїлеві сини були по своїх містах.

And they dwell -- the priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and of the people, and the Nethinim, and all Israel -- in their cities, and the seventh month cometh, and the sons of Israel in their cities.
