1 О тож, коли ви воскресли з Христом, то шукайте того, що вгорі, де сидить Христос по Божій правиці.

If, then, ye were raised with the Christ, the things above seek ye, where the Christ is, on the right hand of God seated,

2 Д умайте про те, що вгорі, а не про те, що на землі.

the things above mind ye, not the things upon the earth,

3 Б ож ви вмерли, а життя ваше сховане в Бозі з Христом.

for ye did die, and your life hath been hid with the Christ in God;

4 К оли з'явиться Христос, наше життя, тоді з'явитеся з Ним у славі і ви.

when the Christ -- our life -- may be manifested, then also we with him shall be manifested in glory.

5 О тож, умертвіть ваші земні члени: розпусту, нечисть, пристрасть, лиху пожадливість та зажерливість, що вона ідолослуження,

Put to death, then, your members that upon the earth -- whoredom, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and the covetousness, which is idolatry --

6 б о гнів Божий приходить за них на неслухняних.

because of which things cometh the anger of God upon the sons of the disobedience,

7 І ви поміж ними ходили колись, як жили поміж ними.

in which also ye -- ye did walk once, when ye lived in them;

8 Т епер же відкиньте і ви все оте: гнів, лютість, злобу, богозневагу, безсоромні слова з ваших уст.

but now put off, even ye, the whole -- anger, wrath, malice, evil-speaking, filthy talking -- out of your mouth.

9 Н е кажіть неправди один на одного, якщо скинули з себе людину стародавню з її вчинками,

Lie not one to another, having put off the old man with his practices,

10 т а зодягнулися в нову, що відновлюється для пізнання за образом Створителя її,

and having put on the new, which is renewed in regard to knowledge, after the image of Him who did create him;

11 д е нема ані геллена, ані юдея, обрізання та необрізання, варвара, скита, раба, вільного, але все та в усьому Христос!

where there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythian, servant, freeman -- but the all and in all -- Christ.

12 О тож, зодягніться, як Божі вибранці, святі та улюблені, у щире милосердя, добротливість, покору, лагідність, довготерпіння.

Put on, therefore, as choice ones of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humble-mindedness, meekness, long-suffering,

13 Т ерпіть один одного, і прощайте собі, коли б мав хто на кого оскарження. Як і Христос вам простив, робіть так і ви!

forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any one with any one may have a quarrel, as also the Christ did forgive you -- so also ye;

14 А над усім тим зодягніться в любов, що вона союз досконалости!

and above all these things, love, which is a bond of the perfection,

15 І нехай мир Божий панує у ваших серцях, до якого й були ви покликані в одному тілі. І вдячними будьте!

and let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye were called in one body, and become thankful.

16 С лово Христове нехай пробуває в вас рясно, у всякій премудрості. Навчайте та напоумляйте самих себе! Вдячно співайте у ваших серцях Господеві псалми, гімни, духовні пісні!

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing each other, in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, in grace singing in your hearts to the Lord;

17 І все, що тільки робите словом чи ділом, усе робіть у Ім'я Господа Ісуса, дякуючи через Нього Богові й Отцеві.

and all, whatever ye may do in word or in work, all things in the name of the Lord Jesus -- giving thanks to the God and Father, through him.

18 Д ружини, слухайтеся чоловіків своїх, як лицює то в Господі!

The wives! be subject to your own husbands, as is fit in the Lord;

19 Ч оловіки, любіть дружин своїх, і не будьте суворі до них!

the husbands! love your wives, and be not bitter with them;

20 Д іти, будьте слухняні в усьому батькам, бо це Господеві приємне!

the children! obey the parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord;

21 Б атьки, не дратуйте дітей своїх, щоб на дусі не впали вони!

the fathers! vex not your children, lest they be discouraged.

22 Р аби, слухайтеся в усьому тілесних панів, і не працюйте тільки про людське око, немов підлещуючись, але в простоті серця, боячися Бога!

The servants! obey in all things those who are masters according to the flesh, not in eye-service as men-pleasers, but in simplicity of heart, fearing God;

23 І все, що тільки чините, робіть від душі, немов Господеві, а не людям!

and all, whatever ye may do -- out of soul work -- as to the Lord, and not to men,

24 З найте, що від Господа приймете в нагороду спадщину, бо служите ви Господеві Христові.

having known that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance -- for the Lord Christ ye serve;

25 А хто кривдить, той одержить за свою кривду. Бо не дивиться Бог на особу!

and he who is doing unrighteously shall receive what he did unrighteously, and there is no acceptance of persons.
