1 S i, pues, habéis resucitado con Cristo, buscad las cosas de arriba, donde está Cristo sentado a la diestra de Dios.

If, then, ye were raised with the Christ, the things above seek ye, where the Christ is, on the right hand of God seated,

2 P oned la mira en las cosas de arriba, no en las de la tierra.

the things above mind ye, not the things upon the earth,

3 P orque habéis muerto, y vuestra vida está escondida con Cristo en Dios.

for ye did die, and your life hath been hid with the Christ in God;

4 C uando Cristo, vuestra vida, se manifieste, entonces vosotros también seréis manifestados con él en gloria. La vida antigua y la nueva

when the Christ -- our life -- may be manifested, then also we with him shall be manifested in glory.

5 H aced morir, pues, en vuestros miembros lo terrenal: fornicación, impureza, pasiones desordenadas, malos deseos y la avaricia, que es idolatría;

Put to death, then, your members that upon the earth -- whoredom, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and the covetousness, which is idolatry --

6 a causa de las cuales cosas viene la ira de Dios sobre los hijos de desobediencia,

because of which things cometh the anger of God upon the sons of the disobedience,

7 e n las cuales también vosotros anduvisteis en otro tiempo cuando vivíais en ellas.

in which also ye -- ye did walk once, when ye lived in them;

8 P ero ahora desechad también vosotros todas estas cosas: ira, enojo, malicia, blasfemia, palabras deshonestas de vuestra boca.

but now put off, even ye, the whole -- anger, wrath, malice, evil-speaking, filthy talking -- out of your mouth.

9 N o mintáis los unos a los otros, habiéndoos despojado del viejo hombre con sus prácticas,

Lie not one to another, having put off the old man with his practices,

10 y revestido del nuevo, el cual conforme a la imagen del que lo creó se va renovando hasta el conocimiento pleno,

and having put on the new, which is renewed in regard to knowledge, after the image of Him who did create him;

11 d onde no hay ya distinción entre griego y judío, circuncisión e incircuncisión, bárbaro y escita, siervo y libre, sino que Cristo es todo, y en todos.

where there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythian, servant, freeman -- but the all and in all -- Christ.

12 V estíos, pues, como escogidos de Dios, santos y amados, de entrañable misericordia, de benignidad, de humildad, de mansedumbre, de longanimidad;

Put on, therefore, as choice ones of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humble-mindedness, meekness, long-suffering,

13 s oportándoos unos a otros, y perdonándoos unos a otros si alguno tiene queja contra otro. De la manera que Cristo os perdonó, así también hacedlo vosotros.

forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any one with any one may have a quarrel, as also the Christ did forgive you -- so also ye;

14 Y sobre todas estas cosas vestíos de amor, que es el vínculo de la perfección.

and above all these things, love, which is a bond of the perfection,

15 Y la paz de Dios gobierne en vuestros corazones, a la que asimismo fuisteis llamados en un solo cuerpo; y sed agradecidos.

and let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye were called in one body, and become thankful.

16 L a palabra de Cristo habite ricamente en vosotros, enseñándoos y amonestándoos unos a otros en toda sabiduría, cantando con gracia en vuestros corazones al Señor con salmos, himnos y cánticos espirituales.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing each other, in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, in grace singing in your hearts to the Lord;

17 Y todo lo que hagáis, de palabra o de obra, hacedlo todo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias a Dios Padre por medio de él. Relaciones sociales del cristiano

and all, whatever ye may do in word or in work, all things in the name of the Lord Jesus -- giving thanks to the God and Father, through him.

18 E sposas, estad sometidas a vuestros maridos, como conviene en el Señor.

The wives! be subject to your own husbands, as is fit in the Lord;

19 M aridos, amad a vuestras mujeres, y no seáis ásperos con ellas.

the husbands! love your wives, and be not bitter with them;

20 H ijos, obedeced a vuestros padres en todo, porque esto agrada al Señor.

the children! obey the parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord;

21 P adres, no exasperéis a vuestros hijos, para que no se desalienten.

the fathers! vex not your children, lest they be discouraged.

22 S iervos, obedeced en todo a vuestros amos terrenales, no sirviendo al ojo, como los que sólo quieren agradar a los hombres, sino con corazón sincero, temiendo a Dios.

The servants! obey in all things those who are masters according to the flesh, not in eye-service as men-pleasers, but in simplicity of heart, fearing God;

23 Y todo lo que hagáis, hacedlo de corazón, como para el Señor y no para los hombres;

and all, whatever ye may do -- out of soul work -- as to the Lord, and not to men,

24 s abiendo que del Señor recibiréis la recompensa de la herencia, porque a Cristo el Señor servís.

having known that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance -- for the Lord Christ ye serve;

25 M as el que hace injusticia, recibirá en pago la injusticia que haga, que no hay acepción de personas.

and he who is doing unrighteously shall receive what he did unrighteously, and there is no acceptance of persons.
