1 Y llamó Jacob a sus hijos, y dijo: Juntaos, y os declararé lo que os ha de acontecer en los días venideros.

And Jacob calleth unto his sons and saith, `Be gathered together, and I declare to you that which doth happen with you in the latter end of the days.

2 J untaos y oíd, hijos de Jacob, Y escuchad a vuestro padre Israel.

`Be assembled, and hear, sons of Jacob, And hearken unto Israel your father.

3 R ubén, tú eres mi primogénito, mi fortaleza, y el principio de mi vigor; Principal en dignidad, principal en poder.

Reuben! my first-born thou, My power, and beginning of my strength, The abundance of exaltation, And the abundance of strength;

4 P resuroso como las aguas, no serás el principal, Por cuanto subiste al lecho de tu padre; Entonces te envileciste, subiendo a mi estrado.

Unstable as water, thou art not abundant; For thou hast gone up thy father's bed; Then thou hast polluted: My couch he went up!

5 S imeón y Leví son hermanos; Armas de iniquidad sus armas.

Simeon and Levi brethren! Instruments of violence -- their espousals!

6 E n su consejo no entre mi alma, Ni mi espíritu se junte en su compañía. Porque en su furor mataron hombres, Y en su temeridad desjarretaron toros.

Into their secret, come not, O my soul! Unto their assembly be not united, O mine honour; For in their anger they slew a man, And in their self-will eradicated a prince.

7 M aldito su furor, que fue fiero; Y su ira, que fue dura. Yo los apartaré en Jacob, Y los esparciré en Israel.

Cursed their anger, for fierce, And their wrath, for sharp; I divide them in Jacob, And I scatter them in Israel.

8 J udá, te alabarán tus hermanos; Tu mano en la cerviz de tus enemigos; Los hijos de tu padre se inclinarán a ti.

Judah! thou -- thy brethren praise thee! Thy hand on the neck of thine enemies, Sons of thy father bow themselves to thee.

9 C achorro de león, Judá; De la presa subiste, hijo mío. Se encorvó, se echó como león, Así como león viejo: ¿quién lo despertará?

A lion's whelp Judah, For prey, my son, thou hast gone up; He hath bent, he hath crouched as a lion, And as a lioness; who causeth him to arise?

10 N o será quitado el cetro de Judá, Ni el legislador de entre sus pies, Hasta que venga Siloh; Y a él se congregarán los pueblos.

The sceptre turneth not aside from Judah, And a lawgiver from between his feet, Till his Seed come; And his the obedience of peoples.

11 A tando a la vid su pollino, Y a la cepa el hijo de su asna, Lavó en el vino su vestido, Y en la sangre de uvas su manto.

Binding to the vine his ass, And to the choice vine the colt of his ass, He hath washed in wine his clothing, And in the blood of grapes his covering;

12 S us ojos, rojos del vino, Y sus dientes blancos de la leche.

Red eyes with wine, And white teeth with milk!

13 Z abulón en puertos de mar habitará; Será para puerto de naves, Y su límite hasta Sidón.

Zebulun at a haven of the seas doth dwell, And he for a haven of ships; And his side unto Zidon.

14 I sacar, asno fuerte Que se recuesta entre los apriscos;

Issacher a strong ass, Crouching between the two folds;

15 Y vio que el descanso era bueno, y que la tierra era deleitosa; Y bajó su hombro para llevar, Y sirvió en tributo.

And he seeth rest that good, And the land that pleasant, And he inclineth his shoulder to bear, And is to tribute a servant.

16 D an juzgará a su pueblo, Como una de las tribus de Israel.

Dan doth judge his people, As one of the tribes of Israel;

17 S erá Dan serpiente junto al camino, Víbora junto a la senda, Que muerde los talones del caballo, Y hace caer hacia atrás al jinete.

Dan is a serpent by the way, An adder by the path, Which is biting the horse's heels, And its rider falleth backward.

18 T u salvación esperé, oh Jehová.

For Thy salvation I have waited, Jehovah!

19 G ad, ejército lo acometerá; Mas él acometerá al fin.

Gad! a troop assaulteth him, But he assaulteth last.

20 E l pan de Aser será substancioso, Y él dará deleites al rey.

Out of Asher his bread fat; And he giveth dainties of a king.

21 N eftalí, cierva suelta, Que pronunciará dichos hermosos.

Naphtali a hind sent away, Who is giving beauteous young ones.

22 R ama fructífera es José, Rama fructífera junto a una fuente, Cuyos vástagos se extienden sobre su muro.

Joseph a fruitful son; A fruitful son by a fountain, Daughters step over the wall;

23 L e causaron amargura, Le asaetearon, Y le aborrecieron los arqueros;

And embitter him -- yea, they have striven, Yea, hate him do archers;

24 M as su arco se mantuvo poderoso. Y los brazos de sus manos se fortalecieron Por las manos del Fuerte de Jacob (Por el nombre del Pastor, la Roca de Israel),

And his bow abideth in strength, And strengthened are the arms of his hands By the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, Whence is a shepherd, a son of Israel.

25 P or el Dios de tu padre, el cual te ayudará, Por el Dios Omnipotente, el cual te bendecirá Con bendiciones de los cielos de arriba, Con bendiciones del abismo que está abajo, Con bendiciones de los pechos y del vientre.

By the God of thy father who helpeth thee, And the Mighty One who blesseth thee, Blessings of the heavens from above, Blessings of the deep lying under, Blessings of breasts and womb; --

26 L as bendiciones de tu padre Fueron mayores que las bendiciones de mis progenitores; Hasta el término de los collados eternos Serán sobre la cabeza de José, Y sobre la frente del que fue apartado de entre sus hermanos.

Thy father's blessings have been mighty Above the blessings of my progenitors, Unto the limit of the heights age-during They are for the head of Joseph, And for the crown of the one Separate his brethren.

27 B enjamín es lobo arrebatador; A la mañana comerá la presa, Y a la tarde repartirá los despojos. Muerte de Jacob

Benjamin! a wolf teareth; In the morning he eateth prey, And at evening he apportioneth spoil.'

28 T odos éstos fueron las doce tribus de Israel, y esto fue lo que su padre les dijo, al bendecirlos; a cada uno por su bendición los bendijo.

All these the twelve tribes of Israel, and this that which their father hath spoken unto them, and he blesseth them; each according to his blessing he hath blessed them.

29 L es mandó luego, y les dijo: Yo voy a ser reunido con mi pueblo. Sepultadme con mis padres en la cueva que está en el campo de Efrón el heteo,

And he commandeth them, and saith unto them, `I am being gathered unto my people; bury me by my fathers, at the cave which in the field of Ephron the Hittite;

30 e n la cueva que está en el campo de Macpelá, al oriente de Mamré en la tierra de Canaán, la cual compró Abraham con el mismo campo de Efrón el heteo, para heredad de sepultura.

in the cave which in the field of Machpelah, which on the front of Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a burying-place;

31 A llí sepultaron a Abraham y a Sara su mujer; allí sepultaron a Isaac y a Rebeca su mujer; allí también sepulté yo a Lea.

(there they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah);

32 L a compra del campo y de la cueva que está en él, fue de los hijos de Het.

the purchase of the field and of the cave which in it, from Sons of Heth.'

33 Y cuando acabó Jacob de dar mandamientos a sus hijos, recogió sus pies en la cama, y expiró, y fue reunido con sus padres.

And Jacob finisheth commanding his sons, and gathereth up his feet unto the bed, and expireth, and is gathered unto his people.
