1 P ero con respecto a la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, y nuestra reunión con él, os rogamos, hermanos,

And we ask you, brethren, in regard to the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him,

2 q ue no os dejéis mover fácilmente de vuestro modo de pensar, ni os alarméis, ni por espíritu, ni por palabra, ni por carta como si fuera nuestra, en el sentido de que el día del Señor ha llegado.

that ye be not quickly shaken in mind, nor be troubled, neither through spirit, neither through word, neither through letters as through us, as that the day of Christ hath arrived;

3 N adie os engañe en ninguna manera; porque no vendrá sin que antes venga la apostasía, y sea revelado el hombre de pecado, el hijo de perdición,

let not any one deceive you in any manner, because -- if the falling away may not come first, and the man of sin be revealed -- the son of the destruction,

4 e l cual se opone y se exalta sobre todo lo que se llama Dios o es objeto de culto; tanto que se sienta en el santuario de Dios como Dios, haciéndose pasar por Dios.

who is opposing and is raising himself up above all called God or worshipped, so that he in the sanctuary of God as God hath sat down, shewing himself off that he is God --.

5 ¿ No os acordáis que cuando yo estaba todavía con vosotros, os decía esto?

Do ye not remember that, being yet with you, these things I said to you?

6 Y ahora vosotros sabéis lo que lo detiene, a fin de que a su debido tiempo sea revelado.

and now, what is keeping down ye have known, for his being revealed in his own time,

7 P orque ya está en acción el misterio de la iniquidad; sólo que hay quien al presente lo detiene, hasta que él a su vez desaparezca de en medio.

for the secret of the lawlessness doth already work, only he who is keeping down now -- till he may be out of the way,

8 Y entonces será revelado aquel inicuo, a quien el Señor matará con el espíritu de su boca, y lo reducirá a la impotencia con la manifestación de su venida;

and then shall be revealed the Lawless One, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the manifestation of his presence,

9 i nicuo cuyo advenimiento es por la actuación de Satanás, con todo poder y señales y prodigios mentirosos,

whose presence is according to the working of the Adversary, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders,

10 y con todo engaño de iniquidad para los que se pierden, por cuanto no recibieron el amor de la verdad para ser salvos.

and in all deceitfulness of the unrighteousness in those perishing, because the love of the truth they did not receive for their being saved,

11 P or esto Dios les envía un espíritu engañoso, para que crean la mentira,

and because of this shall God send to them a working of delusion, for their believing the lie,

12 a fin de que sean condenados todos los que no creyeron a la verdad, sino que se complacieron en la injusticia. Escogidos para salvación

that they may be judged -- all who did not believe the truth, but were well pleased in the unrighteousness.

13 P ero nosotros debemos dar siempre gracias a Dios respecto a vosotros, hermanos amados por el Señor, de que Dios os haya escogido desde el principio para salvación, mediante la santificación por el Espíritu y la fe en la verdad,

And we -- we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, beloved by the Lord, that God did choose you from the beginning to salvation, in sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth,

14 a lo cual os llamó mediante nuestro evangelio, para alcanzar la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

to which He did call you through our good news, to the acquiring of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ;

15 A sí que, hermanos, estad firmes, y retened las enseñanzas que os han sido impartidas, ya sea de palabra, o por carta nuestra.

so, then, brethren, stand ye fast, and hold the deliverances that ye were taught, whether through word, whether through our letter;

16 Y el mismo Jesucristo Señor nuestro, y Dios nuestro Padre, el cual nos amó y nos dio consolación eterna y buena esperanza por gracia,

and may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and our God and Father, who did love us, and did give comfort age-during, and good hope in grace,

17 c onforte vuestros corazones, y los afiance en toda buena palabra y obra.

comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.
