1 H ijos sois de Jehová vuestro Dios; no os sajaréis, ni os raparéis a causa de muerto.

`Sons ye to Jehovah your God; ye do not cut yourselves, nor make baldness between your eyes for the dead;

2 P orque eres pueblo santo a Jehová tu Dios, y Jehová te ha escogido para que le seas un pueblo único de entre todos los pueblos que están sobre la tierra. Animales limpios e inmundos

for a holy people thou to Jehovah thy God, and on thee hath Jehovah fixed to be to Him for a people, a peculiar treasure, out of all the peoples who on the face of the ground.

3 N ada abominable comerás.

`Thou dost not eat any abominable thing;

4 E stos son los animales que podréis comer: el buey, la oveja, la cabra,

`this the beast which ye do eat: ox, lamb of the sheep, or kid of the goats,

5 e l ciervo, la gacela, el corzo, la cabra montés, el íbex, el antílope y el carnero montés.

hart, and roe, and fallow deer, and wild goat, and pygarg, and wild ox, and chamois;

6 Y todo animal de pezuñas, que tiene hendidura de dos uñas, y que rumia entre los animales, lo podréis comer.

and every beast dividing the hoof, and cleaving the cleft into two hoofs, bringing up the cud, among the beasts -- it ye do eat.

7 P ero no comeréis, entre los que rumian o entre los que tienen pezuña hendida: camello, liebre y conejo; porque rumian, mas no tienen pezuña hendida, serán inmundos;

`Only, this ye do not eat, of those bringing up the cud, and of those dividing the cloven hoof: the camel, and the hare, and the rabbit, for they are bringing up the cud but the hoof have not divided; unclean they to you;

8 n i cerdo, porque tiene pezuña hendida, mas no rumia; os será inmundo. De la carne de éstos no comeréis, ni tocaréis sus cuerpos muertos.

and the sow, for it is dividing the hoof, and not up the cud, unclean it to you; of their flesh ye do not eat, and against their carcase ye do not come.

9 D e todo lo que vive en el agua, podréis comer: todo lo que tiene aleta y escama.

`This ye do eat of all that in the waters; all that hath fins and scales ye do eat;

10 M as todo lo que no tiene aleta y escama, no comeréis; inmundo será.

and anything which hath not fins and scales ye do not eat; unclean it to you.

11 T oda ave limpia podréis comer.

`Any clean bird ye do eat;

12 Y éstas son de las que no podréis comer: el águila, el quebrantahuesos, el azor,

and these they of which ye do not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

13 e l gallinazo, el milano según su especie,

and the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after its kind,

14 t odo cuervo según su especie,

and every raven after its kind;

15 e l avestruz, la lechuza, la gaviota y el gavilán según sus especies,

and the owl, and the night-hawk, and the cuckoo, and the hawk after its kind;

16 e l búho, el ibis, el calamón,

the owl, and the owl, and the swan,

17 e l pelícano, el buitre, el somormujo,

and the pelican, and the gier-eagle, and the cormorant,

18 l a cigüeña, la garza según su especie, la abubilla y el murciélago.

and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the lapwing, and the bat;

19 T odo insecto alado será inmundo; no se comerá.

and every teeming thing which is flying, unclean it to you; they are not eaten;

20 T oda ave limpia podréis comer.

any clean fowl ye do eat.

21 N inguna cosa mortecina comeréis; al extranjero que está en tus poblaciones la darás, y él podrá comerla; o véndela a un extranjero, porque tú eres pueblo santo a Jehová tu Dios. No cocerás el cabrito en la leche de su madre. La ley del diezmo

`Ye do not eat of any carcase; to the sojourner who within thy gates thou dost give it, and he hath eaten it; or sell to a stranger; for a holy people thou to Jehovah thy God; thou dost not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

22 I ndefectiblemente diezmarás todo el producto del grano que rinda tu campo cada año.

`Thou dost certainly tithe all the increase of thy seed which the field is bringing forth year by year;

23 Y comerás delante de Jehová tu Dios en el lugar que él escoja para poner allí su nombre, el diezmo de tu grano, de tu vino y de tu aceite, y las primicias de tus manadas y de tus ganados, para que aprendas a temer a Jehová tu Dios todos los días.

and thou hast eaten before Jehovah thy God, in the place where He doth choose to cause His name to tabernacle, the tithe of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd, and of thy flock, so that thou dost learn to fear Jehovah thy God all the days.

24 Y si el camino es tan largo para ti, de modo que no puedes llevarlo, por estar lejos de ti el lugar que Jehová tu Dios haya escogido para poner en él su nombre, cuando Jehová tu Dios te bendiga,

`And when the way is too much for thee, that thou art not able to carry it -- when the place is too far off from thee which Jehovah thy God doth choose to put His name there, when Jehovah thy God doth bless thee; --

25 e ntonces lo venderás y guardarás el dinero en tu mano, y vendrás al lugar que Jehová tu Dios escoja;

then thou hast given in money, and hast bound up the money in thy hand, and gone unto the place on which Jehovah thy God doth fix;

26 y emplearás el dinero en todo lo que desees: vacas, ovejas, vino, sidra, o en cualquier cosa que tú desees; y comerás allí delante de Jehová tu Dios, y te alegrarás tú y tu familia.

and thou hast given the money for any thing which thy soul desireth, for oxen, and for sheep, and for wine, and for strong drink, and for any thing which thy soul asketh, and thou hast eaten there before Jehovah thy God, and thou hast rejoiced, thou and thy house.

27 Y no desampararás al levita que habite en tus poblaciones; porque no tiene parte ni heredad contigo.

As to the Levite who within thy gates, thou dost not forsake him, for he hath no portion and inheritance with thee.

28 A l fin de cada tres años sacarás todo el diezmo de tus productos de aquel año, y lo guardarás en tus ciudades.

`At the end of three years thou dost bring out all the tithe of thine increase in that year, and hast placed within thy gates;

29 Y vendrá el levita, que no tiene parte ni heredad contigo, y el extranjero, el huérfano y la viuda que estén en tus poblaciones, y comerán y serán saciados; para que Jehová tu Dios te bendiga en toda obra que tus manos hagan.

and come in hath the Levite (for he hath no part and inheritance with thee), and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who within thy gates, and they have eaten, and been satisfied, so that Jehovah thy God doth bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou dost.
