1 J ehová, Dios de las venganzas, Dios de las venganzas, muéstrate.

God of vengeance -- Jehovah! God of vengeance, shine forth.

2 L evántate, oh Juez de la tierra; Da a los soberbios su merecido.

Be lifted up, O Judge of the earth, Send back a recompence on the proud.

3 ¿ Hasta cuándo los impíos, Hasta cuándo, oh Jehová, se gozarán los impíos?

Till when the wicked, O Jehovah? Till when do the wicked exult?

4 ¿ Hasta cuándo se jactarán, hablando cosas arrogantes, Y se vanagloriarán todos los que hacen iniquidad?

They utter -- they speak an old saw, All working iniquity do boast themselves.

5 A tu pueblo, oh Jehová, quebrantan, Y a tu heredad oprimen.

Thy people, O Jehovah, they bruise, And Thine inheritance they afflict.

6 A la viuda y al extranjero matan, Y a los huérfanos quitan la vida.

Widow and sojourner they slay, And fatherless ones they murder.

7 Y dicen: No lo ve JAH, No se entera el Dios de Jacob.

And they say, `Jehovah doth not see, And the God of Jacob doth not consider.'

8 C omprended, necios del pueblo; Y vosotros, fatuos, ¿cuándo seréis sabios?

Consider, ye brutish among the people, And ye foolish, when do ye act wisely?

9 E l que plantó la oreja, ¿no oirá? El que formó el ojo, ¿no verá?

He who planteth the ear doth He not hear? He who formeth the eye doth He not see?

10 E l que amonesta a las naciones, ¿no castigará? ¿No sabrá el que enseña al hombre la ciencia?

He who is instructing nations, Doth He not reprove? He who is teaching man knowledge Jehovah.

11 J ehová conoce los pensamientos de los hombres, Que son insustanciales.

He knoweth the thoughts of man, that they vanity.

12 B ienaventurado el hombre a quien tú, JAH, corriges, Y en tu ley lo instruyes,

O the happiness of the man Whom Thou instructest, O Jah, And out of Thy law teachest him,

13 P ara hacerle descansar en los días de aflicción, En tanto que para el impío se cava la fosa.

To give rest to him from days of evil, While a pit is digged for the wicked.

14 P orque no abandonará Jehová a su pueblo, Ni desamparará su heredad,

For Jehovah leaveth not His people, And His inheritance forsaketh not.

15 S ino que el juicio será vuelto a la justicia, Y en pos de ella irán todos los rectos de corazón.

For to righteousness judgment turneth back, And after it all the upright of heart,

16 ¿ Quién se levantará por mí contra los malignos? ¿Quién estará por mí contra los que hacen iniquidad?

Who riseth up for me with evil doers? Who stationeth himself for me with workers of iniquity?

17 S i no me ayudara Jehová, Pronto moraría mi alma en el silencio.

Unless Jehovah a help to me, My soul had almost inhabited silence.

18 C uando yo digo: Mi pie resbala, Tu misericordia, oh Jehová, me sustenta.

If I have said, `My foot hath slipped,' Thy kindness, O Jehovah, supporteth me.

19 E n la multitud de mis preocupaciones dentro de mí, Tus consolaciones alegran mi alma.

In the abundance of my thoughts within me, Thy comforts delight my soul.

20 ¿ Se aliará contigo el tribunal inicuo Que hace agravio bajo forma de ley?

Is a throne of mischief joined Thee? A framer of perverseness by statute?

21 E llos atropellan el alma del justo, Y condenan la sangre inocente.

They decree against the soul of the righteous, And innocent blood declare wicked.

22 M as Jehová me ha sido por baluarte, Y mi Dios por roca de mi refugio.

And Jehovah is for a high place to me, And my God for a rock -- my refuge,

23 Y él hará recaer sobre ellos su iniquidad, Y los destruirá por su propia maldad; Los exterminará Jehová nuestro Dios.

And turneth back on them their iniquity, And in their wickedness cutteth them off; Jehovah our God doth cut them off!
