1 H abló Saúl a Jonatán su hijo, y a todos sus siervos, para que matasen a David; pero Jonatán hijo de Saúl amaba a David en gran manera,

And Saul speaketh unto Jonathan his son, and unto all his servants, to put David to death,

2 y dio aviso a David, diciendo: Saúl mi padre procura matarte; por tanto, cuídate mañana, retírate a un lugar oculto y escóndete.

and Jonathan son of Saul delighted exceedingly in David, and Jonathan declareth to David, saying, `Saul my father is seeking to put thee to death, and, now, take heed, I pray thee, in the morning, and thou hast abode in a secret place, and been hidden,

3 Y yo saldré y estaré junto a mi padre en el campo donde estés; y hablaré de ti a mi padre, y te haré saber lo que haya.

and I -- I go out, and have stood by the side of my father in the field where thou, and I speak of thee unto my father, and have seen what, and have declared to thee.'

4 Y Jonatán habló bien de David a Saúl su padre, y le dijo: No peque el rey contra su siervo David, porque ninguna cosa ha cometido contra ti, sino que sus obras han sido muy buenas para contigo;

And Jonathan speaketh good of David unto Saul his father, and saith unto him, `Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works for thee very good;

5 p ues puso su vida en peligro cuando mató al filisteo, y Jehová dio gran salvación a todo Israel. Tú lo viste, y te alegraste; ¿por qué, pues, pecarás contra la sangre inocente, matando a David sin causa?

yea, he putteth his life in his hand, and smiteth the Philistine, and Jehovah worketh a great salvation for all Israel; thou hast seen, and dost rejoice, and why dost thou sin against innocent blood, to put David to death for nought?'

6 Y escuchó Saúl la voz de Jonatán, y juró Saúl: Vive Jehová, que no morirá.

And Saul hearkeneth to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul sweareth, `Jehovah liveth -- he doth not die.'

7 Y llamó Jonatán a David, y le declaró todas estas palabras; y él mismo trajo a David a Saúl, y estuvo delante de él como antes.

And Jonathan calleth for David, and Jonathan declareth to him all these words, and Jonathan bringeth in David unto Saul, and he is before him as heretofore.

8 R eanudada la guerra, partió David para combatir a los filisteos, les infligió una gran derrota y huyeron delante de él.

And there addeth to be war, and David goeth out and fighteth against the Philistines, and smiteth among them -- a great smiting, and they flee from his face.

9 Y el espíritu malo de parte de Jehová vino sobre Saúl; y estando sentado en su casa tenía una lanza a mano, mientras David estaba tocando.

And a spirit of sadness Jehovah is unto Saul, and he is sitting in his house, and his javelin in his hand, and David is playing with the hand,

10 Y Saúl procuró enclavar a David con la lanza en la pared, pero él se apartó de delante de Saúl, el cual clavó la lanza en la pared; y David huyó, y escapó aquella noche. David salvado por Mical

and Saul seeketh to smite with the javelin through David, and through the wall, and he freeth himself from the presence of Saul, and he smiteth the javelin through the wall; and David hath fled and escapeth during that night.

11 S aúl envió luego mensajeros a casa de David para que lo vigilasen, y lo matasen a la mañana. Pero Mical su mujer avisó a David, diciendo: Si no salvas tu vida esta noche, mañana serás muerto.

And Saul sendeth messengers unto the house of David to watch him, and to put him to death in the morning; and Michal his wife declareth to David, saying, `If thou art not delivering thy life to-night -- tomorrow thou art put to death.'

12 Y descolgó Mical a David por una ventana; y él se fue y huyó, y escapó.

And Michal causeth David to go down through the window, and he goeth on, and fleeth, and escapeth;

13 T omó luego Mical una estatua, y la puso sobre la cama, y le acomodó una estera de pelo de cabra sobre la almohada, y la cubrió con la ropa.

and Michal taketh the teraphim, and layeth on the bed, and the mattress of goats' she hath put his pillows, and covereth with a garment.

14 Y cuando Saúl envió mensajeros para prender a David, ella respondió: Está enfermo.

And Saul sendeth messengers to take David, and she saith, `He sick.'

15 P ero Saúl volvió a enviar los emisarios para que viesen a David, diciendo: Traédmelo en la cama para que lo mate.

And Saul sendeth the messengers to see David, saying, `Bring him up in the bed unto me,' -- to put him to death.

16 Y cuando los mensajeros entraron, he aquí la estatua estaba en la cama, y la estera de pelo de cabra a su cabecera.

And the messengers come in, and lo, the teraphim on the bed, and the mattress of goats', his pillows.

17 E ntonces Saúl dijo a Mical: ¿Por qué me has engañado así, y has dejado escapar a mi enemigo? Y Mical respondió a Saúl: Porque él me dijo: Déjame escapar o te mato. Saúl y David con Samuel

And Saul saith unto Michal, `Why thus hast thou deceived me -- that thou dost send away mine enemy, and he is escaped?' and Michal saith unto Saul, `He said unto me, Send me away: why do I put thee to death?'

18 H uyó, pues, David, y se puso a salvo viniendo a Samuel en Ramá, y le dijo todo lo que Saúl había hecho con él. Y él y Samuel se fueron y moraron en Nayot.

And David hath fled, and is escaped, and cometh in unto Samuel to Ramath, and declareth to him all that Saul hath done to him, and he goeth, he and Samuel, and they dwell in Naioth.

19 Y fue dado aviso a Saúl, diciendo: He aquí que David está en Nayot en Ramá.

And it is declared to Saul, saying, `Lo, David in Naioth in Ramah.'

20 E ntonces Saúl envió mensajeros para que trajeran a David, los cuales vieron una compañía de profetas que profetizaban, y a Samuel que estaba allí y los presidía. Y vino el Espíritu de Dios sobre los mensajeros de Saúl, y ellos también profetizaron.

And Saul sendeth messengers to take David, and they see the assembly of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing, set over them, and the Spirit of God is on Saul's messengers, and they prophesy -- they also.

21 C uando lo supo Saúl, envió otros mensajeros, los cuales también profetizaron. Y Saúl volvió a enviar mensajeros por tercera vez, y ellos también profetizaron.

And they declare to Saul, and he sendeth other messengers, and they prophesy -- they also; and Saul addeth and sendeth messengers a third time, and they prophesy -- they also.

22 E ntonces él mismo fue a Ramá; y llegando al gran pozo que está en Secú, preguntó diciendo: ¿Dónde están Samuel y David? Y uno respondió: He aquí que están en Nayot en Ramá.

And he goeth -- he also -- to Ramath, and cometh in unto the great well which in Sechu, and asketh, and saith, `Where Samuel and David?' and saith, `Lo, in Naioth in Ramah.'

23 Y fue a Nayot en Ramá; y también vino sobre él el Espíritu de Dios, iba caminando profetizando hasta que llegó a Nayot en Ramá.

And he goeth thither -- unto Naioth in Ramah, and the Spirit of God is upon him -- him also; and he goeth, going on, and he prophesyeth till his coming in to Naioth in Ramah,

24 Y él también se despojó de sus vestidos, y profetizó también delante de Samuel, y quedó desnudo en tierra todo aquel día y toda aquella noche. De aquí se dijo: ¿Conque también Saúl entre los profetas?

and he strippeth off -- he also -- his garments, and prophesieth -- he also -- before Samuel, and falleth down naked all that day and all the night; therefore they say, `Is Saul also among the prophets?'
