1 A sí dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Moab, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque quemó los huesos del rey de Edom hasta calcinarlos.

Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Moab, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of his burning the bones of the king of Edom to lime,

2 P renderé fuego en Moab, y consumirá los palacios de Queriyot; y morirá Moab con estrépito, entre el clamor bélico y el sonido de la trompeta.

And I have sent a fire against Moab, And it hath consumed the palaces of Kerioth, And dying with noise is Moab, With shouting, with voice of a trumpet.

3 Y quitaré el juez de en medio de él, y haré morir con él a todos sus príncipes, dice Jehová.

And I have cut off a judge from her midst, And all its heads I slay with him, said Jehovah.

4 A sí dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Judá, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque menospreciaron la ley de Jehová, y no guardaron sus estatutos, descarriándose por las mentiras, en pos de las cuales anduvieron sus padres.

Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, And for four, I do not reserve it, Because of their loathing the law of Jehovah, And His statutes they have not kept, And their lies do cause them to err, After which their fathers did walk,

5 P renderé, por tanto, fuego a Judá, el cual consumirá los palacios de Jerusalén.

And I have sent a fire against Judah, And it hath consumed palaces of Jerusalem.

6 A sí dice Jehová: Por tres pecados de Israel, y por el cuarto, no lo revocaré; porque vendieron por dinero al justo, y al pobre por un par de zapatos.

Thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their selling for silver the righteous, And the needy for a pair of sandals.

7 Q ue anhelan que haya polvo de la tierra sobre las cabezas de los desvalidos, y tuercen el camino de los humildes; y el hijo y su padre se llegan a la misma joven, profanando mi santo nombre.

Who are panting for the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, And the way of the humble they turn aside, And a man and his father go unto the damsel, So as to pollute My holy name.

8 S obre las ropas empeñadas se acuestan junto a cualquier altar; y beben en la casa de sus dioses el vino de los multados.

And on pledged garments they stretch themselves near every altar, And the wine of fined ones they drink the house of their gods.

9 Y , sin embargo, yo destruí delante de ellos al amorreo, cuya altura era como la altura de los cedros, y fuerte como una encina; y destruí su fruto por arriba y sus raíces por abajo.

And I -- I have destroyed the Amorite from before them, Whose height as the height of cedars, And strong he as the oaks, And I destroy his fruit from above, And his roots from beneath.

10 Y a vosotros os hice subir de la tierra de Egipto, y os conduje por el desierto cuarenta años, para que entraseis en posesión de la tierra del amorreo.

And I -- I have brought you up from the land of Egypt, And cause you to go in a wilderness forty years, To possess the land of the Amorite.

11 Y levanté de vuestros hijos para profetas, y de vuestros jóvenes para que fuesen nazareos. ¿No es esto así, hijos de Israel?, dice Jehová.

And I raise of your sons for prophets, And of your choice ones for Nazarites, Is not this true, O sons of Israel? An affirmation of Jehovah.

12 M as vosotros disteis de beber vino a los nazareos, y a los profetas mandasteis diciendo: No profeticéis.

And ye cause the Nazarites to drink wine, And on the prophets ye have laid a charge, Saying, `Do not prophecy!'

13 P ues he aquí que yo haré rechinar bajo vosotros, como rechina el carro lleno de gavillas;

Lo, I am pressing you under, As the full cart doth press for itself a sheaf.

14 y el ágil no podrá huir, y el fuerte no podrá ejercitar su fuerza, ni el valiente librará su vida.

And perished hath refuge from the swift, And the strong strengtheneth not his power, And the mighty delivereth not his soul.

15 E l que maneja el arco no resistirá, ni escapará el ligero de pies, ni el que cabalga en caballo salvará su vida.

And the handler of the bow standeth not, And the swift with his feet delivereth not, And the rider of the horse delivereth not his soul.

16 E l esforzado de entre los valientes huirá desnudo aquel día, dice Jehová.

And the courageous of heart among the mighty, Naked doth flee in that day, An affirmation of Jehovah!
