1 L evantándose de allí, se va al distrito de Judea y al otro lado del Jordán; y de nuevo se aglomera una multitud en torno a él y, como era su costumbre, les enseñaba una vez más.

And having risen thence, he doth come to the coasts of Judea, through the other side of the Jordan, and again do multitudes come together unto him, and, as he had been accustomed, again he was teaching them.

2 Y acercándose unos fariseos para ponerle a prueba, le preguntaban si es lícito a un hombre repudiar a su mujer.

And the Pharisees, having come near, questioned him, if it is lawful for a husband to put away a wife, tempting him,

3 É l respondió y les dijo: ¿Qué os ordenó Moisés?

and he answering said to them, `What did Moses command you?'

4 E llos dijeron: Moisés permitió escribir un certificado de divorcio, y repudiarla.

and they said, `Moses suffered to write a bill of divorce, and to put away.'

5 P ero Jesús les dijo: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón, os escribió él este mandamiento.

And Jesus answering said to them, `For the stiffness of your heart he wrote you this command,

6 P ero desde el comienzo de la creación, Dios los hizo varón y hembra.

but from the beginning of the creation, a male and a female God did make them;

7 P or esta razón, dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre y se unirá a su mujer.

on this account shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife,

8 Y los dos vendrán a ser una sola carne; hasta el punto de que ya no son dos, sino una sola carne.

and they shall be -- the two -- for one flesh; so that they are no more two, but one flesh;

9 P or lo tanto, lo que Dios unió, que no lo separe el hombre.

what therefore God did join together, let not man put asunder.'

10 Y cuando volvieron a la casa, los discípulos le preguntaban otra vez sobre esto.

And in the house again his disciples of the same thing questioned him,

11 Y él les dice: Cualquiera que repudie a su mujer, y se case con otra, comete adulterio contra ella;

and he saith to them, `Whoever may put away his wife, and may marry another, doth commit adultery against her;

12 y si ella se divorcia de su marido y se casa con otro, comete adulterio. Jesucristo bendice a los niños

and if a woman may put away her husband, and is married to another, she committeth adultery.'

13 Y le traían niños para que los tocase; pero los discípulos les reprendieron.

And they were bringing to him children, that he might touch them, and the disciples were rebuking those bringing them,

14 C uando Jesús vio esto, se indignó y les dijo: Dejad que los niños vengan a mí; no se lo impidáis, porque de los que son como éstos es el reino de Dios.

and Jesus having seen, was much displeased, and he said to them, `Suffer the children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the reign of God;

15 E n verdad os digo, quienquiera que no reciba el reino de Dios como un niño, de ninguna manera entrará en él.

verily I say to you, whoever may not receive the reign of God, as a child -- he may not enter into it;'

16 Y los tomó en sus brazos y los bendecía poniendo las manos sobre ellos. El joven rico

and having taken them in his arms, having put hands upon them, he was blessing them.

17 C uando salía Jesús para ponerse en camino, vino uno corriendo hacia él y cayó de rodillas ante él y le preguntó: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para heredar la vida eterna?

And as he is going forth into the way, one having run and having kneeled to him, was questioning him, `Good teacher, what may I do, that life age-during I may inherit?'

18 J esús le dijo: ¿Por qué me dices bueno? Nadie es bueno, sino sólo Dios.

And Jesus said to him, `Why me dost thou call good? no one good except One -- God;

19 Y a sabes los mandamientos: No mates, no cometas adulterio, no robes, no digas falso testimonio, no defraudes, honra a tu padre y a tu madre.

the commands thou hast known: Thou mayest not commit adultery, Thou mayest do no murder, Thou mayest not steal, Thou mayest not bear false witness, Thou mayest not defraud, Honour thy father and mother.'

20 É l le dijo: Maestro, todas estas cosas las he guardado desde mi juventud.

And he answering said to him, `Teacher, all these did I keep from my youth.'

21 J esús le miró y sintió afecto por él, y le dijo: Una cosa te falta; anda, vende cuanto tienes y dalo a los pobres, y tendrás un tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme, tomando tu cruz.

And Jesus having looked upon him, did love him, and said to him, `One thing thou dost lack; go away, whatever thou hast -- sell, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me, having taken up the cross.'

22 P ero él se puso triste al oír estas palabras y se marchó apesadumbrado, porque tenía muchas posesiones. Peligro de las riquezas

And he -- gloomy at the word -- went away sorrowing, for he was having many possessions.

23 E ntonces Jesús, mirando en derredor, les dice a sus discípulos: ¡Cuán difícilmente entrarán en el reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas!

And Jesus having looked round, saith to his disciples, `How hardly shall they who have riches enter into the reign of God!'

24 L os discípulos estaban atónitos ante sus palabras. Pero Jesús, tomando de nuevo la palabra, les dice: Hijos, ¡qué difícil es entrar en el reino de Dios a los que confían en las riquezas!

And the disciples were astonished at his words, and Jesus again answering saith to them, `Children, how hard is it to those trusting on the riches to enter into the reign of God!

25 E s más fácil que un camello pase a través del ojo de la aguja, que el que un rico entre en el reino de Dios.

It is easier for a camel through the eye of the needle to enter, than for a rich man to enter into the reign of God.'

26 P ero ellos se asombraban aún más, y decían entre ellos: Entonces, ¿quién puede ser salvo?

And they were astonished beyond measure, saying unto themselves, `And who is able to be saved?'

27 J esús, mirándoles fijamente, dice: Por parte de los hombres, imposible; pero no por parte de Dios, porque con Dios todo es posible.

And Jesus, having looked upon them, saith, `With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.'

28 P edro comenzó a decirle: Mira, nosotros lo hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido.

And Peter began to say to him, `Lo, we left all, and we followed thee.'

29 J esús dijo: En verdad os digo, no hay nadie que haya dejado casa, o hermanos, o hermanas, o madre, o padre, o hijos, o campos, por causa de mí y por causa del evangelio,

And Jesus answering said, `Verily I say to you, there is no one who left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields, for my sake, and for the good news',

30 q ue no reciba cien veces más ahora en este tiempo: casas, hermanos, hermanas, madres, hijos y campos, con persecuciones; y en la era venidera, vida eterna.

who may not receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and fields, with persecutions, and in the age that is coming, life age-during;

31 P ero muchos primeros serán últimos; y los últimos, primeros. Jesús anuncia de nuevo su muerte

and many first shall be last, and the last first.'

32 I ban de camino, subiendo a Jerusalén, y Jesús iba delante de ellos; ellos estaban atónitos; y los que le seguían tenían miedo. Y tomando de nuevo aparte a los doce, comenzó a decirles lo que estaba a punto de sucederle:

And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going before them, and they were amazed, and following they were afraid. And having again taken the twelve, he began to tell them the things about to happen to him,

33 M irad que estamos subiendo a Jerusalén, y el Hijo del Hombre será entregado a los principales sacerdotes y a los escribas; y lo condenarán a muerte, y lo entregarán a traición a los gentiles;

-- `Lo, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man shall be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the nations,

34 s e burlarán de él, le escupirán, le azotarán y matarán, y a los tres días resucitará. Petición de Jacobo y de Juan

and they shall mock him, and scourge him, and spit on him, and kill him, and the third day he shall rise again.'

35 S e acercan a él Jacobo y Juan, los dos hijos de Zebedeo, y le dicen: Queremos que hagas por nosotros lo que te pidamos.

And there come near to him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying, `Teacher, we wish that whatever we may ask for ourselves, thou mayest do for us;'

36 É l les dijo: ¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros?

and he said to them, `What do ye wish me to do for you?'

37 Y ellos le dijeron: Concédenos que en tu gloria nos sentemos el uno a tu derecha y el otro a tu izquierda.

and they said to him, `Grant to us that, one on thy right hand and one on thy left, we may sit in thy glory;'

38 J esús les dijo: No sabéis lo que estáis pidiendo. ¿Podéis beber la copa que yo bebo, o ser bautizados con el bautismo con que yo soy bautizado?

and Jesus said to them, `Ye have not known what ye ask; are ye able to drink of the cup that I drink of, and with the baptism that I am baptized with -- to be baptized?'

39 Y ellos le dijeron: Podemos. Entonces les dijo Jesús: La copa que yo bebo, la beberéis; y seréis bautizados con el bautismo con que yo soy bautizado;

And they said to him, `We are able;' and Jesus said to them, `Of the cup indeed that I drink of, ye shall drink, and with the baptism that I am baptized with, ye shall be baptized;

40 p ero el sentarse a mi derecha o a mi izquierda, no es mío el concederlo, sino que es para quienes ha sido preparado.

but to sit on my right and on my left, is not mine to give, but -- to those for whom it hath been prepared.'

41 A l oír esto, los diez comenzaron a indignarse con respecto a Jacobo y Juan.

And the ten having heard, began to be much displeased at James and John,

42 Y llamándoles adonde él estaba, les dice Jesús: Sabéis que los que se tienen por gobernantes de los gentiles, se enseñorean de ellos, y sus magnates los sujetan bajo su autoridad.

but Jesus having called them near, saith to them, `Ye have known that they who are considered to rule the nations do exercise lordship over them, and their great ones do exercise authority upon them;

43 P ero entre vosotros no es así, sino que cualquiera que desee llegar a ser grande entre vosotros, será vuestro sirviente;

but not so shall it be among you; but whoever may will to become great among you, he shall be your minister,

44 y cualquiera que desee entre vosotros ser primero, será esclavo de todos;

and whoever of you may will to become first, he shall be servant of all;

45 p orque aun el Hijo del Hombre no vino a ser servido, sino a servir y a dar su vida como rescate por muchos. El ciego Bartimeo recibe la vista

for even the Son of Man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.'

46 L legan a Jericó. Y cuando salía de Jericó con sus discípulos y una considerable muchedumbre, el hijo de Timeo, Bartimeo, un mendigo ciego, estaba sentado junto al camino.

And they come to Jericho, and as he is going forth from Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, a son of Timaeus -- Bartimaeus the blind -- was sitting beside the way begging,

47 A l oír que era Jesús el Nazareno, comenzó a gritar y a decir: ¡Hijo de David, Jesús, ten compasión de mí!

and having heard that it is Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and to say, `The Son of David -- Jesus! deal kindly with me;'

48 M uchos le increpaban para que se callara, pero él gritaba mucho más: ¡Hijo de David, ten compasión de mí!

and many were rebuking him, that he might keep silent, but the more abundantly he cried out, `Son of David, deal kindly with me.'

49 J esús se detuvo y dijo: Llamadle. Llaman al ciego y le dicen: ¡Ánimo, levántate, que te llama!

And Jesus having stood, he commanded him to be called, and they call the blind man, saying to him, `Take courage, rise, he doth call thee;'

50 É l arrojó de sí su manto, dio un salto y se fue hacia Jesús.

and he, having cast away his garment, having risen, did come unto Jesus.

51 Y Jesús, dirigiéndole la palabra, dijo: ¿Qué deseas que haga por ti? El ciego le dijo: Rabbuní, que recobre la vista.

And answering, Jesus saith to him, `What wilt thou I may do to thee?' and the blind man said to him, `Rabboni, that I may see again;'

52 Y Jesús le dijo: Vete, tu fe te ha sanado. En seguida recobró la vista y le seguía por el camino.

and Jesus said to him, `Go, thy faith hath saved thee:' and immediately he saw again, and was following Jesus in the way.
