1 E ntonces el rey David dijo a toda la asamblea: Mi hijo Salomón, el único que Dios ha escogido, es aún joven y sin experiencia, y la obra es grande; porque el templo no es para hombre, sino para el Señor Dios.

And David the king saith to all the assembly, `Solomon my son -- the one on whom God hath fixed -- young and tender, and the work great, for not for man is the palace, but for Jehovah God;

2 C on toda mi habilidad he provisto para la casa de mi Dios, el oro para las cosas de oro, la plata para las cosas de plata, el bronce para las cosas de bronce, el hierro para las cosas de hierro, la madera para las cosas de madera; también piedras de ónice, piedras de engaste, piedras de antimonio, piedras de varios colores, toda clase de piedras preciosas y piedras de alabastro en abundancia.

and with all my power I have prepared for the house of my God, the gold for gold, and the silver for silver, and the brass for brass, the iron for iron, and the wood for wood, shoham stones, and settings, and stones of painting and of diverse colours, and all precious stone, and stones of white marble, in abundance.

3 Y además, en mi amor por la casa de mi Dios, el tesoro que tengo de oro y de plata, lo doy a la casa de mi Dios, además de todo lo que ya he provisto para la santa casa,

`And again, because of my delighting in the house of my God, the substance I have -- a peculiar treasure of gold and silver -- I have given for the house of my God, even over and above all I have prepared for the house of the sanctuary:

4 e s decir, tres mil talentos de oro, del oro de Ofir, y siete mil talentos de plata acrisolada para revestir las paredes de los edificios;

three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses,

5 d e oro para las cosas de oro, y de plata para las cosas de plata, es decir, para toda la obra hecha por los artesanos. ¿Quién, pues, está dispuesto a dar su ofrenda hoy al Señor ?

even gold for gold, and silver for silver, and for all the work by the hand of artificers; and who he that is offering willingly to consecrate his hand to-day to Jehovah?'

6 E ntonces los jefes de las casas paternas, y los jefes de las tribus de Israel, y los jefes de millares y de centenares, con los supervisores sobre la obra del rey, ofrecieron voluntariamente sus donativos;

And the heads of the fathers, and the heads of the tribes of Israel, and the heads of the thousands, and of the hundreds, even to the heads of the work of the king, offer willingly.

7 y para el servicio de la casa de Dios dieron cinco mil talentos y diez mil monedas de oro, diez mil talentos de plata, dieciocho mil talentos de bronce y cien mil talentos de hierro.

And they give for the service of the house of God, of gold -- talents five thousand, and drams a myriad; and of silver -- talents ten thousand, and of brass -- a myriad and eight thousand talents; and of iron -- a hundred thousand talents;

8 Y todos los que tenían piedras preciosas las dieron al tesoro de la casa del Señor a cargo de Jehiel gersonita.

and he with whom stones are found hath given to the treasury of the house of Jehovah, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

9 E ntonces el pueblo se alegró porque habían contribuido voluntariamente, porque de todo corazón hicieron su ofrenda al Señor; y también el rey David se alegró en gran manera.

And the people rejoice because of their offering willingly, for with a perfect heart they have offered willingly to Jehovah; and also David the king hath rejoiced -- great joy.

10 Y bendijo David al Señor en presencia de toda la asamblea. Y David dijo: Bendito eres, oh Señor, Dios de Israel, nuestro padre por los siglos de los siglos.

And David blesseth Jehovah before the eyes of all the assembly, and David saith, `Blessed Thou, Jehovah, God of Israel our father, from age even unto age.

11 T uya es, oh Señor, la grandeza y el poder y la gloria y la victoria y la majestad, en verdad, todo lo que hay en los cielos y en la tierra; tuyo es el dominio, oh Señor, y tú te exaltas como soberano sobre todo.

To Thee, O Jehovah, the greatness, and the might, and the beauty, and the victory, and the honour, because of all in the heavens and in the earth; to Thee, O Jehovah, the kingdom, and he who is lifting up himself over all for head;

12 D e ti proceden la riqueza y el honor; tú reinas sobre todo y en tu mano están el poder y la fortaleza, y en tu mano está engrandecer y fortalecer a todos.

and the riches, and the honour from before Thee, and Thou art ruling over all, and in Thy hand power and might, and in Thy hand, to make great, and to give strength to all.

13 A hora pues, Dios nuestro, te damos gracias y alabamos tu glorioso nombre.

`And now, our God, we are giving thanks to Thee, and giving praise to Thy beauteous name;

14 P ero ¿quién soy yo y quién es mi pueblo para que podamos ofrecer tan generosamente todo esto? Porque de ti proceden todas las cosas, y de lo recibido de tu mano te damos.

yea, because, who I, and who my people, that we retain power to offer thus willingly? but of Thee the whole, and out of Thy hand we have given to Thee;

15 P orque somos forasteros y peregrinos delante de ti, como lo fueron todos nuestros padres; como una sombra son nuestros días sobre la tierra, y no hay esperanza.

for sojourners we before Thee, and settlers, like all our fathers; as a shadow our days on the land, and there is none abiding.

16 O h Señor, Dios nuestro, toda esta abundancia que hemos preparado para edificarte una casa para tu santo nombre procede de tu mano, y todo es tuyo.

`O Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build to Thee a house, for Thy holy name, out of Thy hand, and of Thee the whole.

17 S abiendo yo, Dios mío, que tú pruebas el corazón y te deleitas en la rectitud, yo he ofrecido voluntariamente todas estas cosas en la integridad de mi corazón; y ahora he visto con alegría a tu pueblo, que está aquí, hacer sus ofrendas a ti voluntariamente.

`And I have known, my God, that Thou art trying the heart, and uprightness dost desire; I, in the uprightness of my heart, have willingly offered all these: and now, Thy people who are found here I have seen with joy to offer willingly to Thee.

18 O h Señor, Dios de nuestros padres Abraham, Isaac e Israel, preserva esto para siempre en las intenciones del corazón de tu pueblo, y dirige su corazón hacia ti;

`O Jehovah, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this to the age for the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of Thy people, and prepare their heart unto Thee;

19 y da a mi hijo Salomón un corazón perfecto para que guarde tus mandamientos, tus testimonios y tus estatutos, para que los cumpla todos y edifique el templo, para el cual he provisto.

and to Solomon my son give a perfect heart, to keep Thy commands, Thy testimonies, and Thy statutes, and to do the whole, even to build the palace which I have prepared.'

20 E ntonces David dijo a toda la asamblea: Bendecid ahora al Señor vuestro Dios. Y toda la asamblea bendijo al Señor, al Dios de sus padres, y se inclinaron y se postraron ante el Señor y ante el rey.

And David saith to all the assembly, `Bless, I pray you, Jehovah your God;' and all the assembly bless Jehovah, God of their fathers, and bow and do obeisance to Jehovah, and to the king.

21 Y al día siguiente sacrificaron víctimas al Señor y le ofrecieron holocaustos: mil novillos, mil carneros y mil corderos, con sus libaciones y sacrificios en abundancia por todo Israel.

And they sacrifice to Jehovah sacrifices, and cause to ascend burnt-offerings to Jehovah on the morrow of that day, bullocks a thousand, rams a thousand, lambs a thousand, and their oblations, even sacrifices in abundance, for all Israel.

22 C omieron, pues, y bebieron aquel día delante del Señor con gran alegría. Y por segunda vez proclamaron rey a Salomón, hijo de David, y lo ungieron como príncipe para el Señor, y a Sadoc como sacerdote.

And they eat and drink before Jehovah on that day with great joy, and cause Solomon son of David to reign a second time, and anoint before Jehovah for leader, and Zadok for priest.

23 E ntonces Salomón se sentó en el trono del Señor como rey en lugar de su padre David; prosperó y le obedeció todo Israel.

And Solomon sitteth on the throne of Jehovah for king instead of David his father, and prospereth, and all Israel hearken unto him,

24 Y todos los oficiales, los hombres valientes, y también todos los hijos del rey David juraron obediencia al rey Salomón.

and all the heads, and the mighty men, and also all the sons of king David have given a hand under Solomon the king;

25 Y el Señor engrandeció en gran manera a Salomón ante los ojos de todo Israel, y le confirió un reinado glorioso como nunca había tenido ningún rey en Israel antes de él.

and Jehovah maketh Solomon exceedingly great before the eyes of all Israel, and putteth upon him the honour of the kingdom that hath not been on any king over Israel before him.

26 D avid, hijo de Isaí, reinó, pues, sobre todo Israel;

And David son of Jesse hath reigned over all Israel,

27 e l tiempo que reinó sobre Israel fue de cuarenta años; reinó en Hebrón siete años y en Jerusalén reinó treinta y tres.

and the days that he hath reigned over Israel forty years; in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three;

28 Y murió en buena vejez, lleno de días, riquezas y gloria; y su hijo Salomón reinó en su lugar.

and he dieth in a good old age, satisfied with days, riches, and honour, and reign doth Solomon his son in his stead.

29 L os hechos del rey David, desde el primero hasta el último, están escritos en las crónicas del vidente Samuel, en las crónicas del profeta Natán y en las crónicas del vidente Gad,

And the matters of David the king, the first and the last, lo, they are written beside the matters of Samuel the seer, and beside the matters of Nathan the prophet, and beside the matters of Gad the seer,

30 c on todo su reinado, su poder y todos los acontecimientos que vinieron sobre él, sobre Israel y sobre todos los reinos de aquellas tierras.

with all his reign, and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all kingdoms of the lands.
