1 Y dieron aviso a David, diciendo: He aquí, los filisteos están atacando a Keila, y están saqueando las eras.

And they declare to David, saying, `Lo, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and they are spoiling the threshing-floors.'

2 E ntonces consultó David al Señor, diciendo: ¿Debo ir a atacar a estos filisteos? Y el Señor dijo a David: Ve, ataca a los filisteos y libra a Keila.

And David asketh at Jehovah, saying, `Do I go? -- and have I smitten among these Philistines?' And Jehovah saith unto David, `Go, and thou hast smitten among the Philistines, and saved Keilah.'

3 P ero los hombres de David le dijeron: He aquí, estamos con temor aquí en Judá. ¿Cuánto más si vamos a Keila contra las filas de los filisteos?

And David's men say unto him, `Lo, we here in Judah are afraid; and how much more when we go to Keilah, unto the ranks of the Philistines?'

4 D e nuevo David consultó al Señor; y el Señor le respondió, y dijo: Levántate, desciende a Keila, pues entregaré a los filisteos en tu mano.

And David addeth again to ask at Jehovah, and Jehovah answereth him, and saith, `Rise, go down to Keilah, for I am giving the Philistines into thy hand.'

5 Y David y sus hombres fueron a Keila y pelearon contra los filisteos; y él se llevó sus ganados y los hirió con gran mortandad. Así libró David a los habitantes de Keila. Saúl persigue a David

And David goeth, and his men, to Keilah, and fighteth with the Philistines, and leadeth away their cattle, and smiteth among them -- a great smiting, and David saveth the inhabitants of Keilah.

6 Y sucedió que cuando Abiatar, hijo de Ahimelec, huyó a donde estaba David en Keila, descendió con un efod en la mano.

And it cometh to pass, in the fleeing of Abiathar son of Ahimelech unto David, to Keilah, an ephod came down in his hand.

7 C uando se avisó a Saúl que David había ido a Keila, Saúl dijo: Dios lo ha entregado en mi mano, pues se ha encerrado entrando en una ciudad con doble puerta y barras.

And it is declared to Saul that David hath come in to Keilah, and Saul saith, `God hath made him known for my hand, for he hath been shut in, to enter into a city of doors and bar.'

8 Y convocó Saúl a todo el pueblo a la guerra, para descender a Keila a fin de cercar a David y sus hombres.

And Saul summoneth the whole of the people to battle, to go down to Keilah, to lay siege unto David and unto his men.

9 Y David supo que Saúl tramaba el mal contra él; así que le dijo al sacerdote Abiatar: Trae el efod.

And David knoweth that against him Saul is devising the evil, and saith unto Abiathar the priest, `Bring nigh the ephod.'

10 E ntonces David dijo: Oh Señor, Dios de Israel, tu siervo ciertamente ha oído que Saúl procura venir a Keila para destruir la ciudad por causa mía.

And David saith, `Jehovah, God of Israel, Thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul is seeking to come in unto Keilah, to destroy the city on mine account.

11 ¿ Me entregarán en su mano los hombres de Keila? ¿Descenderá Saúl tal como tu siervo ha oído? Oh Señor, Dios de Israel, te ruego que lo hagas saber a tu siervo. Y el Señor dijo: Descenderá.

Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up into his hand? doth Saul come down as Thy servant hath heard? Jehovah, God of Israel, declare, I pray Thee, to Thy servant.' And Jehovah saith, `He doth come down.'

12 E ntonces David dijo: ¿Me entregarán los hombres de Keila a mí y a mis hombres en manos de Saúl? Y el Señor dijo: Os entregarán.

And David saith, `Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up, and my men, into the hand of Saul?' And Jehovah saith, `They shut up.'

13 S e levantó, pues, David con sus hombres, como seiscientos, y salieron de Keila y anduvieron de un lugar a otro. Cuando a Saúl le informaron que David se había escapado de Keila, cesó de perseguirlo.

And David riseth -- and his men -- about six hundred men, and they go out from Keilah, and go up and down where they go up and down; and to Saul it hath been declared that David hath escaped from Keilah, and he ceaseth to go out.

14 D avid se quedó en el desierto en los refugios, y permaneció en la región montañosa en el desierto de Zif. Saúl lo buscaba todos los días, pero Dios no lo entregó en su mano.

And David abideth in the wilderness, in fortresses, and abideth in the hill-country, in the wilderness of Ziph; and Saul seeketh him all the days, and God hath not given him into his hand.

15 Y se dio cuenta David que Saúl había salido para quitarle la vida; y David se encontraba en el desierto de Zif, en Hores.

And David seeth that Saul hath come out to seek his life, and David in the wilderness of Ziph, in a forest.

16 Y Jonatán, hijo de Saúl, se levantó y fue a donde estaba David en Hores, y le fortaleció en Dios.

And Jonathan son of Saul riseth, and goeth unto David to the forest, and strengtheneth his hand in God,

17 Y le dijo: No temas, porque la mano de Saúl mi padre no te encontrará, y tú reinarás sobre Israel y yo seré segundo después de ti; Saúl mi padre también sabe esto.

and saith unto him, `Fear not, for the hand of Saul my father doth not find thee, and thou dost reign over Israel, and I am to thee for second, and also so knoweth Saul my father.'

18 H icieron los dos un pacto delante del Señor; y David permaneció en Hores mientras Jonatán se fue a su casa.

And they make a covenant both of them before Jehovah; and David abideth in the forest, and Jonathan hath gone to his house.

19 E ntonces subieron los de Zif a Saúl en Guibeá diciendo: ¿No está David escondido entre nosotros en los refugios en Hores, en la colina de Haquila que está al sur de Jesimón ?

And the Ziphites go up unto Saul to Gibeah, saying, `Is not David hiding himself with us in fortresses, in the forest, in the height of Hachilah, which on the south of the desolate place?

20 A hora bien, oh rey, desciende conforme a todo el deseo de tu alma para hacerlo; y nuestra parte será entregarlo en manos del rey.

And, now, by all the desire of thy soul, O king, to come down, come down, and ours to shut him up into the hand of the king.'

21 Y Saúl dijo: Benditos seáis del Señor, porque os compadecisteis de mí.

And Saul saith, `Blessed ye of Jehovah, for ye have pity on me;

22 I d ahora, aseguraos, investigad y ved dónde está su escondite, y quién le ha visto allí, porque me han dicho que es muy astuto.

go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his foot is; who hath seen him there? for hath said unto me, He is very subtile.

23 M irad entonces, reconoced todos los escondites donde se oculta, regresad a mí cuando estéis seguros, y yo iré con vosotros; y sucederá que si estuviera en la tierra, he de hallarle entre todos los miles de Judá.

And see and know of all the hiding-places where he hideth himself, and ye have turned back unto me prepared, and I have gone with you, and it hath been, if he is in the land, that I have searched him out through all the thousands of Judah.'

24 E llos se levantaron y fueron a Zif delante de Saúl. Y David y sus hombres estaban en el desierto de Maón, en el Arabá, al sur de Jesimón.

And they rise and go to Ziph before Saul, and David and his men in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain, at the south of the desolate place.

25 S aúl fue con sus hombres a buscar lo, pero le avisaron a David, y éste bajó a la peña y permaneció en el desierto de Maón. Cuando Saúl lo supo, persiguió a David en el desierto de Maón.

And Saul and his men go to seek, and they declare to David, and he goeth down the rock, and abideth in the wilderness of Maon; and Saul heareth, and pursueth after David the wilderness of Maon.

26 S aúl iba por un lado del monte y David y sus hombres por el otro lado del monte; y David se apresuraba para huir de Saúl, pues Saúl y sus hombres estaban rodeando a David y a sus hombres para apresarlos.

And Saul goeth on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain, and David is hastened to go from the face of Saul, and Saul and his men are compassing David and his men, to catch them.

27 P ero un mensajero vino a Saúl diciendo: Apresúrate y ven, pues los filisteos han hecho una incursión en la tierra.

And a messenger hath come in unto Saul, saying, `Haste, and come, for the Philistines have pushed against the land.'

28 R egresó entonces Saúl, dejando de perseguir a David, y fue al encuentro de los filisteos; por eso llamaron a aquel lugar la Peña de Escape.

And Saul turneth back from pursuing after David, and goeth to meet the Philistines, therefore they have called that place `The Rock of Divisions.'

29 Y subió David de allí, y permaneció en los refugios de En-gadi.

And David goeth up thence, and abideth in fortresses En-gedi.
