1 E n aquel tiempo Merodac-baladán, hijo de Baladán, rey de Babilonia, envió cartas y un regalo a Ezequías porque oyó que había estado enfermo y se había recuperado.

At that time hath Merodach-Baladan, son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah, when he heareth that he hath been sick, and is become strong.

2 S e alegró por ello Ezequías y les mostró la casa de su tesoro: la plata y el oro, las especias y el aceite precioso, todo su arsenal y todo lo que se hallaba en sus tesoros. No hubo nada en su casa ni en todo su dominio que Ezequías no les mostrara.

And Hezekiah rejoiceth over them, and sheweth them the house of his spices, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the good ointment, and all the house of his vessels, and all that hath been found in his treasures; there hath not been a thing in his house, and in all his dominion, that Hezekiah hath not shewed them.

3 E ntonces el profeta Isaías vino al rey Ezequías, y le dijo: ¿Qué han dicho esos hombres y de dónde han venido a ti? Y Ezequías respondió: Han venido a mí de un país lejano, de Babilonia.

And Isaiah the prophet cometh in unto king Hezekiah, and saith unto him, `What said these men? and whence come they unto thee?' And Hezekiah saith, `From a land afar off they have come unto me -- from Babylon.'

4 Y él dijo: ¿Qué han visto en tu casa? Y Ezequías respondió: Han visto todo lo que hay en mi casa; no hay nada entre mis tesoros que yo no les haya mostrado.

And he saith, `What saw they in thy house?' and Hezekiah saith, `All that in my house they saw; there hath not been a thing that I have not shewed them among my treasures.'

5 E ntonces Isaías dijo a Ezequías: Oye la palabra del Señor de los ejércitos:

And Isaiah saith unto Hezekiah, `Hear a word of Jehovah of Hosts:

6 “ He aquí, vienen días cuando todo lo que hay en tu casa y todo lo que tus padres han atesorado hasta el día de hoy, será llevado a Babilonia; nada quedará ” —dice el Señor.

Lo, days are coming, and borne hath been all that in thy house, and that thy fathers have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Jehovah;

7 “ Y algunos de tus hijos que saldrán de ti, los que engendrarás, serán llevados y serán oficiales en el palacio del rey de Babilonia.”

and of thy sons who come forth from thee, whom thou begettest, they take, and they have been eunuchs in a palace of the king of Babylon.'

8 E ntonces Ezequías dijo a Isaías: La palabra del Señor que has hablado es buena. Pues pensaba: Porque habrá paz y seguridad en mis días.

And Hezekiah saith unto Isaiah, `Good the word of Jehovah that thou hast spoken;' and he saith, `Because there is peace and truth in my days.'
