1 D espués de estas cosas, sucedió que el copero y el panadero del rey de Egipto ofendieron a su señor, el rey de Egipto.

And it cometh to pass, after these things -- the butler of the king of Egypt and the baker have sinned against their lord, against the king of Egypt;

2 Y Faraón se enojó contra sus dos oficiales, contra el jefe de los coperos y contra el jefe de los panaderos.

and Pharaoh is wroth against his two eunuchs, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers,

3 Y los puso bajo custodia en la casa del capitán de la guardia, en la cárcel, en el mismo lugar donde José estaba preso.

and giveth them in charge in the house of the chief of the executioners, unto the round-house, the place where Joseph a prisoner,

4 E l capitán de la guardia se los asignó a José, y él les servía; y estuvieron bajo custodia por algún tiempo.

and the chief of the executioners chargeth Joseph with them, and he serveth them; and they are days in charge.

5 E ntonces el copero y el panadero del rey de Egipto, que estaban encerrados en la cárcel, tuvieron ambos un sueño en una misma noche, cada uno su propio sueño, y cada sueño con su propia interpretación.

And they dream a dream both of them, each his dream in one night, each according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker whom the king of Egypt hath, who prisoners in the round-house.

6 Y José vino a ellos por la mañana y los observó, y he aquí, estaban decaídos.

And Joseph cometh in unto them in the morning, and seeth them, and lo, they morose;

7 Y preguntó a los oficiales de Faraón que estaban con él bajo custodia en casa de su señor: ¿Por qué están vuestros rostros tan tristes hoy ?

and he asketh Pharaoh's eunuchs who with him in charge in the house of his lord, saying, `Wherefore your faces sad to-day?'

8 Y ellos le respondieron: Hemos tenido un sueño y no hay nadie que lo interprete. Entonces José les dijo: ¿No pertenecen a Dios las interpretaciones ? Os ruego que me lo contéis. Sueño del copero del rey

And they say unto him, `A dream we have dreamed, and there is no interpreter of it;' and Joseph saith unto them, `Are not interpretations with God? recount, I pray you, to me.'

9 C ontó, pues, el jefe de los coperos su sueño a José, y le dijo: En mi sueño, he aquí, había una vid delante de mí,

And the chief of the butlers recounteth his dream to Joseph, and saith to him, `In my dream, then lo, a vine before me!

10 y en la vid había tres sarmientos. Y al brotar sus yemas, aparecieron las flores, y sus racimos produjeron uvas maduras.

and in the vine three branches, and it as it were flourishing; gone up hath its blossom, its clusters have ripened grapes;

11 Y la copa de Faraón estaba en mi mano; así que tomé las uvas y las exprimí en la copa de Faraón, y puse la copa en la mano de Faraón.

and Pharaoh's cup in my hand, and I take the grapes and press them into the cup of Pharaoh, and I give the cup into the hand of Pharaoh.'

12 E ntonces José le dijo: Esta es su interpretación: los tres sarmientos son tres días.

And Joseph saith to him, `This its interpretation: the three branches are three days;

13 D entro de tres días Faraón levantará tu cabeza, te restaurará a tu puesto y tú pondrás la copa de Faraón en su mano como acostumbrabas antes cuando eras su copero.

yet, within three days doth Pharaoh lift up thy head, and hath put thee back on thy station, and thou hast given the cup of Pharaoh into his hand, according to the former custom when thou wast his butler.

14 S ólo te pido que te acuerdes de mí cuando te vaya bien, y te ruego que me hagas el favor de hacer mención de mí a Faraón, y me saques de esta casa.

`Surely if thou hast remembered me with thee, when it is well with thee, and hast done (I pray thee) kindness with me, and hast made mention of me unto Pharaoh, then hast thou brought me out from this house,

15 P orque la verdad es que yo fui secuestrado de la tierra de los hebreos, y aun aquí no he hecho nada para que me pusieran en el calabozo. Sueño del panadero del rey

for I was really stolen from the land of the Hebrews; and here also have I done nothing that they have put me in the pit.'

16 C uando el jefe de los panaderos vio que había interpretado favorablemente, dijo a José: Yo también vi en mi sueño, y he aquí, había tres cestas de pan blanco sobre mi cabeza;

And the chief of the bakers seeth that he hath interpreted good, and he saith unto Joseph, `I also in a dream, and lo, three baskets of white bread on my head,

17 y sobre la cesta de encima había toda clase de manjares hechos por un panadero para Faraón, y las aves los comían de la cesta sobre mi cabeza.

and in the uppermost basket of all of Pharaoh's food, work of a baker; and the birds are eating them out of the basket, from off my head.'

18 E ntonces José respondió, y dijo: Esta es su interpretación: las tres cestas son tres días;

And Joseph answereth and saith, `This its interpretation: the three baskets are three days;

19 d entro de tres días Faraón te quitará la cabeza de sobre ti, te colgará en un árbol y las aves comerán tu carne. Cumplimiento de las interpretaciones

yet, within three days doth Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and hath hanged thee on a tree, and the birds have eaten thy flesh from off thee.'

20 Y sucedió que al tercer día, que era el día del cumpleaños de Faraón, éste hizo un banquete para todos sus siervos, y levantó la cabeza del jefe de los coperos y la cabeza del jefe de los panaderos en medio de sus siervos.

And it cometh to pass, on the third day, Pharaoh's birthday, that he maketh a banquet to all his servants, and lifteth up the head of the chief of the butlers, and the head of the chief of the bakers among his servants,

21 Y restauró al jefe de los coperos a su cargo de copero y éste puso la copa en manos de Faraón;

and he putteth back the chief of the butlers to his butlership, and he giveth the cup into the hand of Pharaoh;

22 p ero ahorcó al jefe de los panaderos, tal como les había interpretado José.

and the chief of the bakers he hath hanged, as Joseph hath interpreted to them;

23 M as el jefe de los coperos no se acordó de José, sino que se olvidó de él.

and the chief of the butlers hath not remembered Joseph, but forgetteth him.
