1 E n cuanto a los dones espirituales, no quiero, hermanos, que seáis ignorantes.

And concerning the spiritual things, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant;

2 S abéis que cuando erais paganos, de una manera u otra erais arrastrados hacia los ídolos mudos.

ye have known that ye were nations, unto the dumb idols -- as ye were led -- being carried away;

3 P or tanto, os hago saber que nadie hablando por el Espíritu de Dios, dice: Jesús es anatema; y nadie puede decir: Jesús es el Señor, excepto por el Espíritu Santo. Diversidad y unidad de los dones

wherefore, I give you to understand that no one, in the Spirit of God speaking, saith Jesus anathema, and no one is able to say Jesus Lord, except in the Holy Spirit.

4 A hora bien, hay diversidad de dones, pero el Espíritu es el mismo.

And there are diversities of gifts, and the same Spirit;

5 Y hay diversidad de ministerios, pero el Señor es el mismo.

and there are diversities of ministrations, and the same Lord;

6 Y hay diversidad de operaciones, pero es el mismo Dios el que hace todas las cosas en todos.

and there are diversities of workings, and it is the same God -- who is working the all in all.

7 P ero a cada uno se le da la manifestación del Espíritu para el bien común.

And to each hath been given the manifestation of the Spirit for profit;

8 P ues a uno le es dada palabra de sabiduría por el Espíritu; a otro, palabra de conocimiento según el mismo Espíritu;

for to one through the Spirit hath been given a word of wisdom, and to another a word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;

9 a otro, fe por el mismo Espíritu; a otro, dones de sanidad por el único Espíritu;

and to another faith in the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healings in the same Spirit;

10 a otro, poder de milagros; a otro, profecía; a otro, discernimiento de espíritus; a otro, diversas clases de lenguas, y a otro, interpretación de lenguas.

and to another in-workings of mighty deeds; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; and to another kinds of tongues; and to another interpretation of tongues:

11 P ero todas estas cosas las hace uno y el mismo Espíritu, distribuyendo individualmente a cada uno según la voluntad de El. La iglesia, cuerpo de Cristo

and all these doth work the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each severally as he intendeth.

12 P orque así como el cuerpo es uno, y tiene muchos miembros, pero todos los miembros del cuerpo, aunque son muchos, constituyen un solo cuerpo, así también es Cristo.

For, even as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the one body, being many, are one body, so also the Christ,

13 P ues por un mismo Espíritu todos fuimos bautizados en un solo cuerpo, ya judíos o griegos, ya esclavos o libres, y a todos se nos dio a beber del mismo Espíritu.

for also in one Spirit we all to one body were baptized, whether Jews or Greeks, whether servants or freemen, and all into one Spirit were made to drink,

14 P orque el cuerpo no es un solo miembro, sino muchos.

for also the body is not one member, but many;

15 S i el pie dijera: Porque no soy mano, no soy parte del cuerpo, no por eso deja de ser parte del cuerpo.

if the foot may say, `Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body;' it is not, because of this, not of the body;

16 Y si el oído dijera: Porque no soy ojo, no soy parte del cuerpo, no por eso deja de ser parte del cuerpo.

and if the ear may say, `Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body;' it is not, because of this, not of the body?

17 S i todo el cuerpo fuera ojo, ¿qué sería del oído? Si todo fuera oído, ¿qué sería del olfato?

If the whole body an eye, where the hearing? if the whole hearing, where the smelling?

18 A hora bien, Dios ha colocado a cada uno de los miembros en el cuerpo según le agradó.

and now, God did set the members each one of them in the body, according as He willed,

19 Y si todos fueran un solo miembro, ¿qué sería del cuerpo?

and if all were one member, where the body?

20 S in embargo, hay muchos miembros, pero un solo cuerpo.

and now, indeed, many members, and one body;

21 Y el ojo no puede decir a la mano: No te necesito; ni tampoco la cabeza a los pies: No os necesito.

and an eye is not able to say to the hand, `I have no need of thee;' nor again the head to the feet, `I have no need of you.'

22 P or el contrario, la verdad es que los miembros del cuerpo que parecen ser los más débiles, son los más necesarios;

But much more the members of the body which seem to be more infirm are necessary,

23 y las partes del cuerpo que estimamos menos honrosas, a éstas las vestimos con más honra; de manera que las partes que consideramos más íntimas, reciben un trato más honroso,

and those that we think to be less honourable of the body, around these we put more abundant honour, and our unseemly things have seemliness more abundant,

24 y a que nuestras partes presentables no lo necesitan. Mas así formó Dios el cuerpo, dando mayor honra a la parte que carecía de ella,

and our seemly things have no need; but God did temper the body together, to the lacking part having given more abundant honour,

25 a fin de que en el cuerpo no haya división, sino que los miembros tengan el mismo cuidado unos por otros.

that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same anxiety for one another,

26 Y si un miembro sufre, todos los miembros sufren con él; y si un miembro es honrado, todos los miembros se regocijan con él.

and whether one member doth suffer, suffer with do all the members, or one member is glorified, rejoice with do all the members;

27 A hora bien, vosotros sois el cuerpo de Cristo, y cada uno individualmente un miembro de él.

and ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 Y en la iglesia, Dios ha designado: primeramente, apóstoles; en segundo lugar, profetas; en tercer lugar, maestros; luego, milagros; después, dones de sanidad, ayudas, administraciones, diversas clases de lenguas.

And some, indeed, did God set in the assembly, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, afterwards powers, afterwards gifts of healings, helpings, governings, divers kinds of tongues;

29 ¿ Acaso son todos apóstoles? ¿Acaso son todos profetas? ¿Acaso son todos maestros? ¿Acaso son todos obradores de milagros ?

all apostles? all prophets? all teachers? all powers?

30 ¿ Acaso tienen todos dones de sanidad ? ¿Acaso hablan todos en lenguas? ¿Acaso interpretan todos ?

have all gifts of healings? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31 M as desead ardientemente los mejores dones. Y aun yo os muestro un camino más excelente.

and desire earnestly the better gifts; and yet a far excelling way do I shew to you:
