1 C iertamente Dios es bueno para con Israel, para con los puros de corazón.

A Psalm of Asaph. Only -- good to Israel God, to the clean of heart. And I -- as a little thing, My feet have been turned aside,

2 E n cuanto a mí, mis pies estuvieron a punto de tropezar, casi resbalaron mis pasos.

As nothing, have my steps slipped, For I have been envious of the boastful,

3 P orque tuve envidia de los arrogantes, al ver la prosperidad de los impíos.

The peace of the wicked I see, That there are no bands at their death,

4 P orque no hay dolores en su muerte, y su cuerpo es robusto.

And their might firm.

5 N o sufren penalidades como los mortales, ni son azotados como los demás hombres.

In the misery of mortals they are not, And with common men they are not plagued.

6 P or tanto, el orgullo es su collar; el manto de la violencia los cubre.

Therefore hath pride encircled them, Violence covereth them as a dress.

7 L os ojos se les saltan de gordura; se desborda su corazón con sus antojos.

Their eye hath come out from fat. The imaginations of the heart transgressed;

8 S e mofan, y con maldad hablan de opresión; hablan desde su encumbrada posición.

They do corruptly, And they speak in the wickedness of oppression, From on high they speak.

9 C ontra el cielo han puesto su boca, y su lengua se pasea por la tierra.

They have set in the heavens their mouth, And their tongue walketh in the earth.

10 P or eso el pueblo de Dios vuelve a este lugar, y beben las aguas de la abundancia.

Therefore do His people return hither, And waters of fulness are wrung out to them.

11 Y dicen: ¿Cómo lo sabe Dios ? ¿Y hay conocimiento en el Altísimo?

And they have said, `How hath God known? And is there knowledge in the Most High?'

12 H e aquí, estos son los impíos, y, siempre desahogados, han aumentado sus riquezas.

Lo, these the wicked and easy ones of the age, They have increased strength.

13 C iertamente en vano he guardado puro mi corazón y lavado mis manos en inocencia;

Only -- a vain thing! I have purified my heart, And I wash in innocency my hands,

14 p ues he sido azotado todo el día y castigado cada mañana.

And I am plagued all the day, And my reproof every morning.

15 S i yo hubiera dicho: Así hablaré, he aquí, habría traicionado a la generación de tus hijos.

If I have said, `I recount thus,' Lo, a generation of Thy sons I have deceived.

16 C uando pensaba, tratando de entender esto, fue difícil para mí,

And I think to know this, Perverseness it in mine eyes,

17 h asta que entré en el santuario de Dios; entonces comprendí el fin de ellos.

Till I come in to the sanctuaries of God, I attend to their latter end.

18 C iertamente tú los pones en lugares resbaladizos; los arrojas a la destrucción.

Only, in slippery places Thou dost set them, Thou hast caused them to fall to desolations.

19 ¡ Cómo son destruidos en un momento! Son totalmente consumidos por terrores repentinos.

How have they become a desolation as in a moment, They have been ended -- consumed from terrors.

20 C omo un sueño del que despierta, oh Señor, cuando te levantes, despreciarás su apariencia.

As a dream from awakening, O Lord, In awaking, their image Thou despisest.

21 C uando mi corazón se llenó de amargura, y en mi interior sentía punzadas,

For my heart doth show itself violent, And my reins prick themselves,

22 e ntonces era yo torpe y sin entendimiento; era como una bestia delante de ti.

And I am brutish, and do not know. A beast I have been with Thee.

23 S in embargo, yo siempre estoy contigo; tú me has tomado de la mano derecha.

And I continually with Thee, Thou hast laid hold on my right hand.

24 C on tu consejo me guiarás, y después me recibirás en gloria.

With Thy counsel Thou dost lead me, And after honour dost receive me.

25 ¿ A quién tengo yo en los cielos, sino a ti ? Y fuera de ti, nada deseo en la tierra.

Whom have I in the heavens? And with Thee none I have desired in earth.

26 M i carne y mi corazón pueden desfallecer, pero Dios es la fortaleza de mi corazón y mi porción para siempre.

Consumed hath been my flesh and my heart, The rock of my heart and my portion God to the age.

27 P orque he aquí, los que están lejos de ti perecerán; tú has destruido a todos los que te son infieles.

For, lo, those far from Thee do perish, Thou hast cut off every one, Who is going a whoring from Thee.

28 M as para mí, estar cerca de Dios es mi bien; en Dios el Señor he puesto mi refugio, para contar todas tus obras.

And I -- nearness of God to me good, I have placed in the Lord Jehovah my refuge, To recount all Thy works!
