1 Y el Señor dijo a Abram: Vete de tu tierra, de entre tus parientes y de la casa de tu padre, a la tierra que yo te mostraré.

And Jehovah saith unto Abram, `Go for thyself, from thy land, and from thy kindred, and from the house of thy father, unto the land which I shew thee.

2 H aré de ti una nación grande, y te bendeciré, y engrandeceré tu nombre, y serás bendición.

And I make thee become a great nation, and bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing.

3 B endeciré a los que te bendigan, y al que te maldiga, maldeciré. Y en ti serán benditas todas las familias de la tierra.

And I bless those blessing thee, and him who is disesteeming thee I curse, and blessed in thee have been all families of the ground.'

4 E ntonces Abram se fue tal como el Señor le había dicho; y Lot fue con él. Y Abram tenía setenta y cinco años cuando partió de Harán.

And Abram goeth on, as Jehovah hath spoken unto him, and Lot goeth with him, and Abram a son of five and seventy years in his going out from Charan.

5 Y tomó Abram a Sarai su mujer, y a Lot su sobrino, y todas las posesiones que ellos habían acumulado, y las personas que habían adquirido en Harán, y salieron para ir a la tierra de Canaán; y a la tierra de Canaán llegaron.

And Abram taketh Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they have gained, and the persons that they have obtained in Charan; and they go out to go towards the land of Canaan; and they come in to the land of Canaan.

6 Y atravesó Abram el país hasta el lugar de Siquem, hasta la encina de More. Y el cananeo estaba entonces en la tierra.

And Abram passeth over into the land, unto the place Shechem, unto the oak of Moreh; and the Canaanite then in the land.

7 Y el Señor se apareció a Abram, y le dijo: A tu descendencia daré esta tierra. Entonces él edificó allí un altar al Señor que se le había aparecido.

And Jehovah appeareth unto Abram, and saith, `To thy seed I give this land;' and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, who hath appeared unto him.

8 D e allí se trasladó hacia el monte al oriente de Betel, y plantó su tienda, teniendo a Betel al occidente y Hai al oriente; y edificó allí un altar al Señor, e invocó el nombre del Señor.

And he removeth from thence towards a mountain at the east of Beth-El, and stretcheth out the tent (Beth-El at the west, and Hai at the east), and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, and preacheth in the name of Jehovah.

9 Y Abram siguió su camino, continuando hacia el Neguev. Abram en Egipto

And Abram journeyeth, going on and journeying towards the south.

10 Y hubo hambre en la tierra; y Abram descendió a Egipto para pasar allí un tiempo, porque el hambre era severa en la tierra.

And there is a famine in the land, and Abram goeth down towards Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine grievous in the land;

11 Y sucedió que cuando se acercaba a Egipto, dijo a Sarai su mujer: Mira, sé que eres una mujer de hermoso parecer;

and it cometh to pass as he hath drawn near to enter Egypt, that he saith unto Sarai his wife, `Lo, I pray thee, I have known that thou a woman of beautiful appearance;

12 y sucederá que cuando te vean los egipcios, dirán: “Esta es su mujer”; y me matarán, pero a ti te dejarán vivir.

and it hath come to pass that the Egyptians see thee, and they have said, `This his wife,' and they have slain me, and thee they keep alive:

13 D i, por favor, que eres mi hermana, para que me vaya bien por causa tuya, y para que yo viva gracias a ti.

say, I pray thee, thou my sister, so that it is well with me because of thee, and my soul hath lived for thy sake.'

14 Y aconteció que cuando Abram entró en Egipto, los egipcios vieron que la mujer era muy hermosa.

And it cometh to pass, at the entering of Abram into Egypt, that the Egyptians see the woman that she exceeding fair;

15 Y la vieron los oficiales de Faraón, y la alabaron delante de él; y la mujer fue llevada a la casa de Faraón.

and princes of Pharaoh see her, and praise her unto Pharaoh, and the woman is taken Pharaoh's house;

16 Y éste trató bien a Abram por causa de ella; y le dio ovejas, vacas, asnos, siervos, siervas, asnas y camellos.

and to Abram he hath done good because of her, and he hath sheep and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and handmaids, and she-asses, and camels.

17 P ero el Señor hirió a Faraón y a su casa con grandes plagas por causa de Sarai, mujer de Abram.

And Jehovah plagueth Pharaoh and his house -- great plagues -- for the matter of Sarai, Abram's wife.

18 E ntonces Faraón llamó a Abram, y le dijo: ¿Qué es esto que me has hecho ? ¿Por qué no me avisaste que era tu mujer?

And Pharaoh calleth for Abram, and saith, `What this thou hast done to me? why hast thou not declared to me that she thy wife?

19 ¿ Por qué dijiste: “Es mi hermana”, de manera que la tomé por mujer? Ahora pues, aquí está tu mujer, tóma la y vete.

Why hast thou said, She my sister, and I take her to myself for a wife? and now, lo, thy wife, take and go.'

20 Y Faraón dio órdenes a sus hombres acerca de Abram; y ellos lo despidieron con su mujer y con todo lo que le pertenecía.

And Pharaoh chargeth men concerning him, and they send him away, and his wife, an all that he hath.
