1 P ero Jehová había dicho a Abram: Vete de tu tierra y de tu parentela, y de la casa de tu padre, a la tierra que te mostraré.

And Jehovah saith unto Abram, `Go for thyself, from thy land, and from thy kindred, and from the house of thy father, unto the land which I shew thee.

2 Y haré de ti una nación grande, y te bendeciré, y engrandeceré tu nombre, y serás bendición.

And I make thee become a great nation, and bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing.

3 B endeciré a los que te bendijeren, y a los que te maldijeren maldeciré; y serán benditas en ti todas las familias de la tierra.

And I bless those blessing thee, and him who is disesteeming thee I curse, and blessed in thee have been all families of the ground.'

4 Y se fue Abram, como Jehová le dijo; y Lot fue con él. Y era Abram de edad de setenta y cinco años cuando salió de Harán.

And Abram goeth on, as Jehovah hath spoken unto him, and Lot goeth with him, and Abram a son of five and seventy years in his going out from Charan.

5 T omó, pues, Abram a Sarai su mujer, y a Lot hijo de su hermano, y todos sus bienes que habían ganado y las personas que habían adquirido en Harán, y salieron para ir a tierra de Canaán; y a tierra de Canaán llegaron.

And Abram taketh Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they have gained, and the persons that they have obtained in Charan; and they go out to go towards the land of Canaan; and they come in to the land of Canaan.

6 Y pasó Abram por aquella tierra hasta el lugar de Siquem, hasta el encino de More; y el cananeo estaba entonces en la tierra.

And Abram passeth over into the land, unto the place Shechem, unto the oak of Moreh; and the Canaanite then in the land.

7 Y apareció Jehová a Abram, y le dijo: A tu descendencia daré esta tierra. Y edificó allí un altar a Jehová, quien le había aparecido.

And Jehovah appeareth unto Abram, and saith, `To thy seed I give this land;' and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, who hath appeared unto him.

8 L uego se pasó de allí a un monte al oriente de Bet-el, y plantó su tienda, teniendo a Bet-el al occidente y Hai al oriente; y edificó allí altar a Jehová, e invocó el nombre de Jehová.

And he removeth from thence towards a mountain at the east of Beth-El, and stretcheth out the tent (Beth-El at the west, and Hai at the east), and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, and preacheth in the name of Jehovah.

9 Y Abram partió de allí, caminando y yendo hacia el Neguev. Abram en Egipto

And Abram journeyeth, going on and journeying towards the south.

10 H ubo entonces hambre en la tierra, y descendió Abram a Egipto para morar allá; porque era grande el hambre en la tierra.

And there is a famine in the land, and Abram goeth down towards Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine grievous in the land;

11 Y aconteció que cuando estaba para entrar en Egipto, dijo a Sarai su mujer: He aquí, ahora conozco que eres mujer de hermoso aspecto;

and it cometh to pass as he hath drawn near to enter Egypt, that he saith unto Sarai his wife, `Lo, I pray thee, I have known that thou a woman of beautiful appearance;

12 y cuando te vean los egipcios, dirán: Su mujer es; y me matarán a mí, y a ti te reservarán la vida.

and it hath come to pass that the Egyptians see thee, and they have said, `This his wife,' and they have slain me, and thee they keep alive:

13 A hora, pues, di que eres mi hermana, para que me vaya bien por causa tuya, y viva mi alma por causa de ti.

say, I pray thee, thou my sister, so that it is well with me because of thee, and my soul hath lived for thy sake.'

14 Y aconteció que cuando entró Abram en Egipto, los egipcios vieron que la mujer era hermosa en gran manera.

And it cometh to pass, at the entering of Abram into Egypt, that the Egyptians see the woman that she exceeding fair;

15 T ambién la vieron los príncipes de Faraón, y la alabaron delante de él; y fue llevada la mujer a casa de Faraón.

and princes of Pharaoh see her, and praise her unto Pharaoh, and the woman is taken Pharaoh's house;

16 E hizo bien a Abram por causa de ella; y él tuvo ovejas, vacas, asnos, siervos, criadas, asnas y camellos.

and to Abram he hath done good because of her, and he hath sheep and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and handmaids, and she-asses, and camels.

17 M as Jehová hirió a Faraón y a su casa con grandes plagas, por causa de Sarai mujer de Abram.

And Jehovah plagueth Pharaoh and his house -- great plagues -- for the matter of Sarai, Abram's wife.

18 E ntonces Faraón llamó a Abram, y le dijo: ¿Qué es esto que has hecho conmigo? ¿Por qué no me declaraste que era tu mujer?

And Pharaoh calleth for Abram, and saith, `What this thou hast done to me? why hast thou not declared to me that she thy wife?

19 ¿ Por qué dijiste: Es mi hermana, poniéndome en ocasión de tomarla para mí por mujer? Ahora, pues, he aquí tu mujer; tómala, y vete.

Why hast thou said, She my sister, and I take her to myself for a wife? and now, lo, thy wife, take and go.'

20 E ntonces Faraón dio orden a su gente acerca de Abram; y le acompañaron, y a su mujer, con todo lo que tenía.

And Pharaoh chargeth men concerning him, and they send him away, and his wife, an all that he hath.
