1 A conteció que cuando comenzaron los hombres a multiplicarse sobre la faz de la tierra, y les nacieron hijas,

And it cometh to pass that mankind have begun to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughters have been born to them,

2 q ue viendo los hijos de Dios que las hijas de los hombres eran hermosas, tomaron para sí mujeres, escogiendo entre todas.

and sons of God see the daughters of men that they fair, and they take to themselves women of all whom they have chosen.

3 Y dijo Jehová: No contenderá mi espíritu con el hombre para siempre, porque ciertamente él es carne; mas serán sus días ciento veinte años.

And Jehovah saith, `My Spirit doth not strive in man -- to the age; in their erring they flesh:' and his days have been an hundred and twenty years.

4 H abía gigantes en la tierra en aquellos días, y también después que se llegaron los hijos de Dios a las hijas de los hombres, y les engendraron hijos. Estos fueron los valientes que desde la antig: uedad fueron varones de renombre.

The fallen ones were in the earth in those days, and even afterwards when sons of God come in unto daughters of men, and they have borne to them -- they the heroes, who, from of old, the men of name.

5 Y vio Jehová que la maldad de los hombres era mucha en la tierra, y que todo designio de los pensamientos del corazón de ellos era de continuo solamente el mal.

And Jehovah seeth that abundant the wickedness of man in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart only evil all the day;

6 Y se arrepintió Jehová de haber hecho hombre en la tierra, y le dolió en su corazón.

and Jehovah repenteth that He hath made man in the earth, and He grieveth Himself -- unto His heart.

7 Y dijo Jehová: Raeré de sobre la faz de la tierra a los hombres que he creado, desde el hombre hasta la bestia, y hasta el reptil y las aves del cielo; pues me arrepiento de haberlos hecho.

And Jehovah saith, `I wipe away man whom I have prepared from off the face of the ground, from man unto beast, unto creeping thing, and unto fowl of the heavens, for I have repented that I have made them.'

8 P ero Noé halló gracia ante los ojos de Jehová. Noé construye el arca

And Noah found grace in the eyes of Jehovah.

9 E stas son las generaciones de Noé: Noé, varón justo, era perfecto en sus generaciones; con Dios caminó Noé.

These births of Noah: Noah a righteous man; perfect he hath been among his generations; with God hath Noah walked habitually.

10 Y engendró Noé tres hijos: a Sem, a Cam y a Jafet.

And Noah begetteth three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11 Y se corrompió la tierra delante de Dios, y estaba la tierra llena de violencia.

And the earth is corrupt before God, and the earth is filled violence.

12 Y miró Dios la tierra, y he aquí que estaba corrompida; porque toda carne había corrompido su camino sobre la tierra.

And God seeth the earth, and lo, it hath been corrupted, for all flesh hath corrupted its way on the earth.

13 D ijo, pues, Dios a Noé: He decidido el fin de todo ser, porque la tierra está llena de violencia a causa de ellos; y he aquí que yo los destruiré con la tierra.

And God said to Noah, `An end of all flesh hath come before Me, for the earth hath been full of violence from their presence; and lo, I am destroying them with the earth.

14 H azte un arca de madera de gofer; harás aposentos en el arca, y la calafatearás con brea por dentro y por fuera.

`Make for thyself an ark of gopher-wood; rooms dost thou make with the ark, and thou hast covered it within and without with cypress;

15 Y de esta manera la harás: de trescientos codos la longitud del arca, de cincuenta codos su anchura, y de treinta codos su altura.

and this that which thou dost with it: three hundred cubits the length of the ark, fifty cubits its breadth, and thirty cubits its height;

16 U na ventana harás al arca, y la acabarás a un codo de elevación por la parte de arriba; y pondrás la puerta del arca a su lado; y le harás piso bajo, segundo y tercero.

a window dost thou make for the ark, and unto a cubit thou dost restrain it from above; and the opening of the ark thou dost put in its side, -- lower, second, and third dost thou make it.

17 Y he aquí que yo traigo un diluvio de aguas sobre la tierra, para destruir toda carne en que haya espíritu de vida debajo del cielo; todo lo que hay en la tierra morirá.

`And I, lo, I am bringing in the deluge of waters on the earth to destroy all flesh, in which a living spirit, from under the heavens; all that in the earth doth expire.

18 M as estableceré mi pacto contigo, y entrarás en el arca tú, tus hijos, tu mujer, y las mujeres de tus hijos contigo.

`And I have established My covenant with thee, and thou hast come in unto the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy son's wives with thee;

19 Y de todo lo que vive, de toda carne, dos de cada especie meterás en el arca, para que tengan vida contigo; macho y hembra serán.

and of all that liveth, of all flesh, two of every thou dost bring in unto the ark, to keep alive with thee; male and female are they.

20 D e las aves según su especie, y de las bestias según su especie, de todo reptil de la tierra según su especie, dos de cada especie entrarán contigo, para que tengan vida.

Of the fowl after its kind, and of the cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every they come in unto thee, to keep alive.

21 Y toma contigo de todo alimento que se come, y almacénalo, y servirá de sustento para ti y para ellos.

`And thou, take to thyself of all food that is eaten; and thou hast gathered unto thyself, and it hath been to thee and to them for food.'

22 Y lo hizo así Noé; hizo conforme a todo lo que Dios le mandó.

And Noah doth according to all that God hath commanded him; so hath he done.
