1 A simismo, hermanos, os hacemos saber la gracia de Dios que se ha dado a las iglesias de Macedonia;

And we make known to you, brethren, the grace of God, that hath been given in the assemblies of Macedonia,

2 q ue en grande prueba de tribulación, la abundancia de su gozo y su profunda pobreza abundaron en riquezas de su generosidad.

because in much trial of tribulation the abundance of their joy, and their deep poverty, did abound to the riches of their liberality;

3 P ues doy testimonio de que con agrado han dado conforme a sus fuerzas, y aun más allá de sus fuerzas,

because, according to power, I testify, and above power, they were willing of themselves,

4 p idiéndonos con muchos ruegos que les concediésemos el privilegio de participar en este servicio para los santos.

with much entreaty calling on us to receive the favour and the fellowship of the ministration to the saints,

5 Y no como lo esperábamos, sino que a sí mismos se dieron primeramente al Señor, y luego a nosotros por la voluntad de Dios;

and not according as we expected, but themselves they did give first to the Lord, and to us, through the will of God,

6 d e manera que exhortamos a Tito para que tal como comenzó antes, asimismo acabe también entre vosotros esta obra de gracia.

so that we exhorted Titus, that, according as he did begin before, so also he may finish to you also this favour,

7 P or tanto, como en todo abundáis, en fe, en palabra, en ciencia, en toda solicitud, y en vuestro amor para con nosotros, abundad también en esta gracia.

but even as in every thing ye do abound, in faith, and word, and knowledge, and all diligence, and in your love to us, that also in this grace ye may abound;

8 N o hablo como quien manda, sino para poner a prueba, por medio de la diligencia de otros, también la sinceridad del amor vuestro.

not according to command do I speak, but because of the diligence of others, and of your love proving the genuineness,

9 P orque ya conocéis la gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que por amor a vosotros se hizo pobre, siendo rico, para que vosotros con su pobreza fueseis enriquecidos.

for ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that because of you he became poor -- being rich, that ye by that poverty may become rich.

10 Y en esto doy mi consejo; porque esto os conviene a vosotros, que comenzasteis antes, no sólo a hacerlo, sino también a quererlo, desde el año pasado.

and an opinion in this do I give: for this to you expedient, who not only to do, but also to will, did begin before -- a year ago,

11 A hora, pues, llevad también a cabo el hacerlo, para que como estuvisteis prontos a querer, así también lo estéis en cumplir conforme a lo que tengáis.

and now also finish doing, that even as the readiness of the will, so also the finishing, out of that which ye have,

12 P orque si primero hay la voluntad dispuesta, será acepta según lo que uno tiene, no según lo que no tiene.

for if the willing mind is present, according to that which any one may have it is well-accepted, not according to that which he hath not;

13 P orque no digo esto para que haya para otros holgura, y para vosotros estrechez,

for not that for others release, and ye pressured,

14 s ino para que en este tiempo, con igualdad, la abundancia vuestra supla la escasez de ellos, para que también la abundancia de ellos supla la necesidad vuestra, para que haya igualdad,

but by equality, at the present time your abundance -- for their want, that also their abundance may be for your want, that there may be equality,

15 c omo está escrito: El que recogió mucho, no tuvo más, y el que poco, no tuvo menos.

according as it hath been written, `He who much, had nothing over; and he who little, had no lack.'

16 P ero gracias a Dios que puso en el corazón de Tito la misma solicitud por vosotros.

And thanks to God, who is putting the same diligence for you in the heart of Titus,

17 P ues a la verdad recibió la exhortación; pero estando también muy solícito, por su propia voluntad partió para ir a vosotros.

because indeed the exhortation he accepted, and being more diligent, of his own accord he went forth unto you,

18 Y enviamos juntamente con él al hermano cuya alabanza en el evangelio se oye por todas las iglesias;

and we sent with him the brother, whose praise in the good news through all the assemblies,

19 y no sólo esto, sino que también fue designado por las iglesias como compañero de nuestra peregrinación para llevar este donativo, que es administrado por nosotros para gloria del Señor mismo, y para demostrar vuestra buena voluntad;

and not only so, but who was also appointed by vote by the assemblies, our fellow-traveller, with this favour that is ministered by us, unto the glory of the same Lord, and your willing mind;

20 e vitando que nadie nos censure en cuanto a esta ofrenda abundante que administramos,

avoiding this, lest any one may blame us in this abundance that is ministered by us,

21 p rocurando hacer las cosas honradamente, no sólo delante del Señor sino también delante de los hombres.

providing right things, not only before the Lord, but also before men;

22 E nviamos también con ellos a nuestro hermano, cuya diligencia hemos comprobado repetidas veces en muchas cosas, y ahora mucho más diligente por la mucha confianza que tiene en vosotros.

and we sent with them our brother, whom we proved in many things many times being diligent, and now much more diligent, by the great confidence that is toward you,

23 E n cuanto a Tito, es mi compañero y colaborador para con vosotros; y en cuanto a nuestros hermanos, son mensajeros de las iglesias, y gloria de Cristo.

whether -- about Titus -- my partner and towards you fellow-worker, whether -- our brethren, apostles of assemblies -- glory of Christ;

24 M ostrad, pues, para con ellos ante las iglesias la prueba de vuestro amor, y de nuestro gloriarnos respecto de vosotros.

the shewing therefore of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf, to them shew ye, even in the face of the assemblies.
