1 D espués de Abimelec, se levantó para librar a Israel Tola hijo de Fúa, hijo de Dodo, varón de Isacar, el cual habitaba en Samir en el monte de Efraín.

And there riseth after Abimelech, to save Israel, Tola son of Puah, son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, and he is dwelling in Shamir, in the hill-country of Ephraim,

2 Y juzgó a Israel veintitrés años; y murió, y fue sepultado en Samir.

and he judgeth Israel twenty and three years, and he dieth, and is buried in Shamir.

3 T ras él se levantó Jair galaadita, el cual juzgó a Israel veintidós años.

And there riseth after him Jair the Gileadite, and he judgeth Israel twenty and two years,

4 E ste tuvo treinta hijos, que cabalgaban sobre treinta asnos; y tenían treinta ciudades, que se llaman las ciudades de Jair hasta hoy, las cuales están en la tierra de Galaad.

and he hath thirty sons riding on thirty ass-colts, and they have thirty cities, (they call them Havoth-Jair unto this day), which in the land of Gilead;

5 Y murió Jair, y fue sepultado en Camón. Jefté liberta a Israel de los amonitas

and Jair dieth, and is buried in Kamon.

6 P ero los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, y sirvieron a los baales y a Astarot, a los dioses de Siria, a los dioses de Sidón, a los dioses de Moab, a los dioses de los hijos de Amón y a los dioses de los filisteos; y dejaron a Jehová, y no le sirvieron.

And the sons of Israel add to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and serve the Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Aram, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the Bene-Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsake Jehovah, and have not served Him;

7 Y se encendió la ira de Jehová contra Israel, y los entregó en mano de los filisteos, y en mano de los hijos de Amón;

and the anger of Jehovah burneth against Israel, and He selleth them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the Bene-Ammon,

8 l os cuales oprimieron y quebrantaron a los hijos de Israel en aquel tiempo dieciocho años, a todos los hijos de Israel que estaban al otro lado del Jordán en la tierra del amorreo, que está en Galaad.

and they crush and oppress the sons of Israel in that year -- eighteen years all the sons of Israel are beyond the Jordan, in the land of the Amorite, which in Gilead.

9 Y los hijos de Amón pasaron el Jordán para hacer también guerra contra Judá y contra Benjamín y la casa de Efraín, y fue afligido Israel en gran manera.

And the Bene-Ammon pass over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, and Israel hath great distress.

10 E ntonces los hijos de Israel clamaron a Jehová, diciendo: Nosotros hemos pecado contra ti; porque hemos dejado a nuestro Dios, y servido a los baales.

And the sons of Israel cry unto Jehovah, saying, `We have sinned against Thee, even because we have forsaken our God, and serve the Baalim.'

11 Y Jehová respondió a los hijos de Israel: ¿No habéis sido oprimidos de Egipto, de los amorreos, de los amonitas, de los filisteos,

And Jehovah saith unto the sons of Israel, ` not from the Egyptians, and from the Amorite, from the Bene-Ammon, and from the Philistines?

12 d e los de Sidón, de Amalec y de Maón, y clamando a mí no os libré de sus manos?

And the Zidonians, and Amalek, and Maon have oppressed you, and ye cry unto Me, and I save you out of their hand;

13 M as vosotros me habéis dejado, y habéis servido a dioses ajenos; por tanto, yo no os libraré más.

and ye -- ye have forsaken Me, and serve other gods, therefore I add not to save you.

14 A ndad y clamad a los dioses que os habéis elegido; que os libren ellos en el tiempo de vuestra aflicción.

Go and cry unto the gods on which ye have fixed; they -- they save you in the time of your adversity.'

15 Y los hijos de Israel respondieron a Jehová: Hemos pecado; haz tú con nosotros como bien te parezca; sólo te rogamos que nos libres en este día.

And the sons of Israel say unto Jehovah, `We have sinned, do Thou to us according to all that is good in Thine eyes; only deliver us, we pray Thee, this day.'

16 Y quitaron de entre sí los dioses ajenos, y sirvieron a Jehová; y él fue angustiado a causa de la aflicción de Israel.

And they turn aside the gods of the stranger out of their midst, and serve Jehovah, and His soul is grieved with the misery of Israel.

17 E ntonces se juntaron los hijos de Amón, y acamparon en Galaad; se juntaron asimismo los hijos de Israel, y acamparon en Mizpa.

And the Bene-Ammon are called together, and encamp in Gilead, and the sons of Israel are gathered together, and encamp in Mizpah.

18 Y los príncipes y el pueblo de Galaad dijeron el uno al otro: ¿Quién comenzará la batalla contra los hijos de Amón? Será caudillo sobre todos los que habitan en Galaad.

And the people -- heads of Gilead -- say one unto another, `Who the man that doth begin to fight against the Bene-Ammon? he is for head to all inhabitants of Gilead.'
