1 Y el profeta Eliseo llamó a uno de los hijos de los profetas, y le dijo: Ciñe tus lomos y toma este frasco de aceite en tu mano y ve a Ramot de Galaad.

And Elisha the prophet hath called to one of the sons of the prophets, and saith to him, `Gird up thy loins, and take this vial of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth-Gilead,

2 C uando llegues allá, busca a Jehú, hijo de Josafat, hijo de Nimsi. Entra y haz que se levante de entre sus hermanos, y llévalo a un aposento interior.

and thou hast gone in there, and see thou there Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, and thou hast gone in, and caused him to rise out of the midst of his brethren, and brought him in to the inner part of an inner-chamber,

3 E ntonces toma el frasco de aceite, derrámalo sobre su cabeza, y di: “Así dice el Señor: ‘Yo te he ungido rey sobre Israel.’” Abre luego la puerta y huye, no esperes.

and taken the vial of oil, and poured on his head, and said, Thus said Jehovah, I have anointed thee for king unto Israel; and thou hast opened the door, and fled, and dost not wait.'

4 Y el joven, el siervo del profeta, fue a Ramot de Galaad.

And the young man goeth -- the young man the prophet -- to Ramoth-Gilead,

5 C uando llegó, he aquí, los capitanes del ejército estaban sentados, y él dijo: Capitán, tengo un mensaje para ti. Y Jehú dijo: ¿Para cuál de nosotros? Y él dijo: Para ti, capitán.

and cometh in, and lo, chiefs of the force are sitting, and he saith, `I have a word unto thee, O chief!' and Jehu saith, `Unto which of all of us?' and he saith, `Unto thee, O chief.'

6 E ntonces él se levantó y entró en la casa, y el joven derramó el aceite sobre su cabeza y le dijo: Así dice el Señor, Dios de Israel: “Yo te he ungido rey sobre el pueblo del Señor, sobre Israel.

And he riseth and cometh in to the house, and he poureth the oil on his head, and saith to him, `Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, I have anointed thee for king unto the people of Jehovah, unto Israel,

7 “ Tú herirás la casa de Acab tu señor, para que yo vengue la sangre de mis siervos los profetas, y la sangre de todos los siervos del Señor derramada por mano de Jezabel.

and thou hast smitten the house of Ahab thy lord, and I have required the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Jehovah, from the hand of Jezebel;

8 “ Y toda la casa de Acab perecerá, y cortaré de Acab todo varón, tanto siervo como libre en Israel.

and perished hath all the house of Ahab, and I have cut off to Ahab those sitting on the wall, and restrained, and left, in Israel,

9 “ Yo pondré la casa de Acab como la casa de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa, hijo de Ahías.

and I have given up the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and as the house of Baasha son of Ahijah,

10 “ Y los perros se comerán a Jezabel en el campo de Jezreel, y nadie la sepultará.” Entonces abrió la puerta y huyó.

and Jezebel do the dogs eat in the portion of Jezreel, and there is none burying;' and he openeth the door and fleeth.

11 E ntonces Jehú salió a los siervos de su señor, y uno le dijo: ¿Va todo bien ? ¿Por qué vino a ti este loco ? Y él les dijo: Vosotros conocéis bien al hombre y sus palabras.

And Jehu hath gone out unto the servants of his lord, and saith to him, `Is there peace? wherefore came this madman unto thee?' and he saith unto them, `Ye have known the man and his talk.'

12 Y ellos dijeron: Mentira; cuéntanos ahora. Y él dijo: Así y así me habló, diciendo: “Así dice el Señor: ‘Yo te he ungido rey sobre Israel.’”

And they say, `False, declare, we pray thee, to us;' and he saith, `Thus and thus spake he unto me, saying, Thus said Jehovah, I have anointed thee for king unto Israel.'

13 E ntonces se apresuraron y cada uno tomó su manto y lo puso bajo Jehú sobre las gradas desnudas, y tocaron la trompeta y dijeron: Jehú es rey. Muerte de Joram

And they haste and take each his garment, and put under him at the top of the stairs, and blow with a trumpet, and say, `Reigned hath Jehu!'

14 Y Jehú, hijo de Josafat, hijo de Nimsi, conspiró contra Joram. Y estaba Joram con todo Israel, defendiendo a Ramot de Galaad contra Hazael, rey de Aram,

And Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspireth against Joram -- (and Joram was keeping in Ramoth-Gilead, he and all Israel, from the presence of Hazael king of Aram,

15 p ero el rey Joram había regresado a Jezreel para ser curado de las heridas que los arameos le habían hecho cuando peleó contra Hazael, rey de Aram. Y Jehú dijo: Si es vuestro deseo, que nadie se escape ni salga de la ciudad para ir a anunciar lo en Jezreel.

and king Joram turneth back to be healed in Jezreel, of the wounds with which the Aramaeans smite him, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram) -- and Jehu saith, `If it is your mind, let not an escaped one go out from the city, to go to declare in Jezreel.'

16 E ntonces Jehú montó en un carro y fue a Jezreel, porque Joram estaba allí en cama. Y Ocozías, rey de Judá, había descendido para ver a Joram.

And Jehu rideth, and goeth to Jezreel, for Joram is lying there, and Ahaziah king of Judah hath gone down to see Joram.

17 Y el centinela que estaba en la torre de Jezreel vio la comitiva de Jehú que venía, y dijo: Veo una comitiva. Y Joram dijo: Toma un jinete y envíalo a su encuentro, y que diga: “¿Hay paz?”

And the watchman is standing on the tower in Jezreel, and seeth the company of Jehu in his coming, and saith, `A company I see;' and Joram saith, `Take a rider and send to meet them, and let him say, Is there peace?'

18 F ue el jinete a su encuentro, y dijo: Así dice el rey: “¿Hay paz?” Y Jehú dijo: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? Ven en pos de mí. Y el centinela avisó, diciendo: El mensajero llegó hasta ellos, pero no regresó.

and the rider on the horse goeth to meet him, and saith, `Thus said the king, Is there peace?' and Jehu saith, `What -- to thee and to peace? turn round behind me.' And the watchman declareth, saying, `The messenger came unto them, and he hath not returned.'

19 E ntonces envió un segundo jinete, que vino a ellos, y dijo: Así dice el rey: “¿Hay paz?” Y Jehú respondió: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? Ven en pos de mí.

And he sendeth a second rider on a horse, and he cometh in unto them, and saith, `Thus said the king, Is there peace?' and Jehu saith, `What -- to thee and to peace? turn round behind me.'

20 Y avisó el centinela, diciendo: El llegó hasta ellos, y no regresó; y el modo de guiar es como el guiar de Jehú, hijo de Nimsi, porque guía alocadamente.

And the watchman declareth, saying, `He came unto them, and he hath not returned, and the driving like the driving of Jehu son of Nimshi, for with madness he driveth.'

21 E ntonces Joram dijo: Preparad el carro. Y prepararon su carro. Y salieron Joram, rey de Israel, y Ocozías, rey de Judá, cada uno en su carro, y fueron al encuentro de Jehú, y lo hallaron en el campo de Nabot de Jezreel.

And Jehoram saith, `Harness;' and his chariot is harnessed, and Jehoram king of Israel goeth out, and Ahaziah king of Judah, each in his chariot, and they go out to meet Jehu, and find him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

22 Y sucedió que cuando Joram vio a Jehú, dijo: ¿Hay paz, Jehú? Y él respondió: ¿Qué paz, mientras sean tantas las prostituciones de tu madre Jezabel y sus hechicerías?

And it cometh to pass, at Jehoram's seeing Jehu, that he saith, `Is there peace, Jehu?' and he saith, `What the peace, while the whoredoms of Jezebel thy mother, and her witchcrafts, are many?'

23 E ntonces Joram volvió las riendas y huyó, y dijo a Ocozías: ¡Traición, Ocozías!

And Jehoram turneth his hands, and fleeth, and saith unto Ahaziah, `Deceit, O Ahaziah!'

24 Y Jehú entesó su arco con toda su fuerza e hirió a Joram en la espalda; y la saeta salió por su corazón y se desplomó en su carro.

And Jehu hath filled his hand with a bow, and smiteth Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow goeth out from his heart, and he boweth down in his chariot.

25 E ntonces Jehú dijo a su oficial Bidcar: Tóma lo y tíralo en la porción del campo de Nabot de Jezreel, pues recuerdo cuando tú y yo íbamos juntos montados detrás de su padre Acab, que el Señor pronunció esta sentencia contra él:

And saith unto Bidkar his captain, `Lift up, cast him into the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite -- for, remember, I and thou were riding together after Ahab his father, and Jehovah lifted upon him this burden:

26 “ Ayer ciertamente he visto la sangre de Nabot y la sangre de sus hijos,” declaró el Señor, “y te recompensaré en este campo,” declaró el Señor. Ahora pues, tómalo y tíralo en el campo, conforme a la palabra del Señor.

Have I not the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons seen yesternight -- the affirmation of Jehovah -- yea, I have recompensed to thee in this portion -- the affirmation of Jehovah; -- and now, lift up, cast him into the portion, according to the word of Jehovah.'

27 C uando Ocozías, rey de Judá, vio esto, huyó por el camino de la casa del huerto. Y Jehú lo persiguió y dijo: Matadlo a él también en el carro. Y lo hirieron a la subida de Gur, que está en Ibleam. Y huyó a Meguido, y murió allí.

And Ahaziah king of Judah hath seen, and fleeth the way of the garden-house, and Jehu pursueth after him, and saith, `Smite him -- also him -- in the chariot,' in the going up to Gur, that Ibleam, and he fleeth to Megiddo, and dieth there,

28 E ntonces sus siervos lo llevaron en carro a Jerusalén, y lo sepultaron en su sepulcro con sus padres en la ciudad de David.

and his servants carry him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and bury him in his burying-place, with his fathers, in the city of David.

29 E n el año once de Joram, hijo de Acab, Ocozías había comenzado a reinar sobre Judá.

And in the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab reign did Ahaziah over Judah.

30 Y llegó Jehú a Jezreel, y cuando Jezabel lo oyó, se pintó los ojos, adornó su cabeza y se asomó por la ventana.

And Jehu cometh in to Jezreel, and Jezebel hath heard, and putteth her eyes in paint and maketh right her head, and looketh out through the window.

31 Y cuando entraba Jehú por la puerta, ella dijo: ¿Le va bien a Zimri, asesino de tu señor ?

And Jehu hath come into the gate, and she saith, `Was there peace Zimri -- slayer of his lord?'

32 E ntonces él alzó su rostro hacia la ventana y dijo: ¿Quién está conmigo? ¿Quién? Y dos o tres oficiales se asomaron desde arriba.

And he lifteth up his face unto the window, and saith, `Who with me? -- who?' and look out unto him do two three eunuchs;

33 Y él dijo: Echadla abajo. Y la echaron abajo y parte de su sangre salpicó la pared y los caballos, y él la pisoteó.

And he saith, `Let her go;' and they let her go, and of her blood is sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses, and he treadeth her down.

34 C uando él entró, comió y bebió; entonces dijo: Encargaos ahora de esta maldita y enterradla, pues es hija de rey.

And he cometh in, and eateth, and drinketh, and saith, `Look after, I pray you, this cursed one, and bury her, for she a king's daughter.'

35 Y fueron para enterrarla, pero de ella no encontraron más que el cráneo, los pies y las palmas de sus manos.

And they go to bury her, and have not found of her except the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.

36 E ntonces, volvieron y se lo hicieron saber a Jehú. Y él dijo: Esta es la palabra que el Señor había hablado por medio de su siervo Elías tisbita, diciendo: “En la parcela de Jezreel los perros comerán la carne de Jezabel;

And they turn back, and declare to him, and he saith, `The word of Jehovah it, that He spake by the hand of this servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel do the dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel,

37 y el cadáver de Jezabel será como estiércol sobre la superficie del campo en la parcela de Jezreel, para que no puedan decir: ‘Esta es Jezabel.’”

and the carcase of Jezebel hath been as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, that they say not, This Jezebel.'
