1 “ No os haréis ídolos, ni os levantaréis imagen tallada ni pilares sagrados, ni pondréis en vuestra tierra piedra grabada para inclinaros ante ella; porque yo soy el Señor vuestro Dios.

`Ye do not make to yourselves idols; and graven image or standing image ye do not set up to yourselves; and a stone of imagery ye do not put in your land, to bow yourselves to it; for I Jehovah your God.

2 “ Guardaréis mis días de reposo, y tendréis en reverencia mi santuario; yo soy el Señor.

`My sabbaths ye do keep, and My sanctuary ye do reverence; I Jehovah.

3 “ Si andáis en mis estatutos y guardáis mis mandamientos para ponerlos por obra,

`If in My statutes ye walk, and My commands ye keep, and have done them,

4 y o os daré lluvias en su tiempo, de manera que la tierra dará sus productos, y los árboles del campo darán su fruto.

then I have given your rains in their season, and the land hath given her produce, and the tree of the field doth give its fruit;

5 “ Ciertamente, vuestra trilla os durará hasta la vendimia, y la vendimia hasta el tiempo de la siembra. Comeréis, pues, vuestro pan hasta que os saciéis y habitaréis seguros en vuestra tierra.

and reached to you hath the threshing, the gathering, and the gathering doth reach the sowing-; and ye have eaten your bread to satiety, and have dwelt confidently in your land.

6 “ Daré también paz en la tierra, para que durmáis sin que nadie os atemorice. Asimismo eliminaré bestias dañinas de vuestra tierra, y no pasará espada por vuestra tierra.

`And I have given peace in the land, and ye have lain down, and there is none causing trembling; and I have caused evil beasts to cease out of the land, and the sword doth not pass over into your land.

7 “ Y vosotros perseguiréis a vuestros enemigos y caerán a espada delante de vosotros;

`And ye have pursued your enemies, and they have fallen before you by the sword;

8 c inco de vosotros perseguirán a cien, y cien de vosotros perseguirán a diez mil, y vuestros enemigos caerán a espada delante de vosotros.

and five of you have pursued a hundred, and a hundred of you do pursue a myriad; and your enemies have fallen before you by the sword.

9 “ Me volveré hacia vosotros y os haré fecundos y os multiplicaré y confirmaré mi pacto con vosotros.

`And I have turned unto you, and have made you fruitful, and have multiplied you, and have established My covenant with you;

10 “ Y comeréis de las provisiones almacenadas y tendréis que sacar lo almacenado para guardar lo nuevo.

and ye have eaten old, and the old because of the new ye bring out.

11 “ Además, haré mi morada en medio de vosotros, y mi alma no os aborrecerá.

`And I have given My tabernacle in your midst, and My soul doth not loathe you;

12 “ Andaré entre vosotros y seré vuestro Dios, y vosotros seréis mi pueblo.

and I have walked habitually in your midst, and have become your God, and ye -- ye are become My people;

13 “ Yo soy el Señor vuestro Dios, que os saqué de la tierra de Egipto para que no fuerais esclavos de ellos; rompí las varas de vuestro yugo y os hice andar erguidos. Resultados de la desobediencia

I Jehovah your God, who have brought you out of the land of the Egyptians, from being their servants; and I break the bars of your yoke, and cause you to go erect.

14 “ Pero si no me obedecéis y no ponéis por obra todos estos mandamientos,

`And if ye do not hearken to Me, and do not all these commands;

15 s i despreciáis mis estatutos y si aborrece vuestra alma mis ordenanzas para no poner por obra todos mis mandamientos, quebrantando así mi pacto,

and if at My statutes ye kick, and if My judgments your soul loathe, so as not to do all My commands -- to your breaking My covenant --

16 y o, por mi parte, os haré esto: Pondré sobre vosotros terror súbito, tisis y fiebre que consuman los ojos y hagan languidecer el alma. En vano sembraréis vuestra semilla, pues vuestros enemigos la comerán.

I also do this to you, and I have appointed over you trouble, the consumption, and the burning fever, consuming eyes, and causing pain of soul; and your seed in vain ye have sowed, and your enemies have eaten it;

17 “ Fijaré mi rostro contra vosotros, para que seáis derrotados delante de vuestros enemigos; los que os aborrecen os dominarán y huiréis sin que nadie os persiga.

and I have set My face against you, and ye have been smitten before your enemies; and those hating you have ruled over you, and ye have fled, and there is none pursuing you.

18 “ Y si aun con todas estas cosas no me obedecéis, entonces os castigaré siete veces más por vuestros pecados.

`And if unto these ye hearken not to Me, -- then I have added to chastise you seven times for your sins;

19 “ También quebrantaré el orgullo de vuestro poderío, y haré vuestros cielos como hierro y vuestra tierra como bronce.

and I have broken the pride of your strength, and have made your heavens as iron, and your earth as brass;

20 “ Y vuestras fuerzas se consumirán en vano, porque vuestra tierra no dará su producto y los árboles de la tierra no darán su fruto.

and consumed hath been your strength in vain, and your land doth not give her produce, and the tree of the land doth not give its fruit.

21 “ Y si procedéis con hostilidad contra mí y no queréis obedecerme, aumentaré la plaga sobre vosotros siete veces conforme a vuestros pecados.

`And if ye walk with Me opposition, and are not willing to hearken to Me, then I have added to you a plague seven times, according to your sins,

22 “ Soltaré entre vosotros las fieras del campo que os privarán de vuestros hijos, destruirán vuestro ganado y os reducirán en número de manera que vuestros caminos queden desiertos.

and sent against you the beast of the field, and it hath bereaved you; and I have cut off your cattle, and have made you few, and your ways have been desolate.

23 “ Y si con estas cosas no os enmendáis ante mí, sino que procedéis con hostilidad contra mí,

`And if by these ye are not instructed by Me, and have walked with Me opposition,

24 e ntonces yo procederé con hostilidad contra vosotros; y yo mismo os heriré siete veces por vuestros pecados.

then I have walked -- I also -- with you in opposition, and have smitten you, even I, seven times for your sins;

25 “ Y traeré sobre vosotros una espada que ejecutará venganza a causa del pacto; y cuando os reunáis en vuestras ciudades, enviaré pestilencia entre vosotros, para que seáis entregados en manos del enemigo.

and I have brought in on you a sword, executing the vengeance of a covenant; and ye have been gathered unto your cities, and I have sent pestilence into your midst, and ye have been given into the hand of an enemy.

26 “ Cuando yo os quite el sustento del pan, diez mujeres cocerán vuestro pan en un horno, y os darán vuestro pan en cantidades medidas, de modo que comeréis y no os saciaréis.

`In My breaking to you the staff of bread, then ten women have baked your bread in one oven, and have given back your bread by weight; and ye have eaten, and are not satisfied.

27 “ Si a pesar de todo esto no me obedecéis, sino que procedéis con hostilidad contra mí,

`And if for this ye hearken not to Me, and have walked with Me in opposition,

28 e ntonces yo procederé con hostilidad airada contra vosotros, y yo mismo os castigaré siete veces por vuestros pecados.

then I have walked with you in the fury of opposition, and have chastised you, even I, seven times for your sins.

29 “ Comeréis la carne de vuestros hijos, y la carne de vuestras hijas comeréis.

`And ye have eaten the flesh of your sons; even flesh of your daughters ye do eat.

30 “ Y destruiré vuestros lugares altos, derribaré vuestros altares de incienso y amontonaré vuestros cadáveres sobre los cadáveres de vuestros ídolos, pues mi alma os aborrecerá.

And I have destroyed your high places, and cut down your images, and have put your carcases on the carcases of your idols, and My soul hath loathed you;

31 “ También dejaré en ruinas vuestras ciudades, desolaré vuestros santuarios y no oleré vuestros suaves aromas.

and I have made your cities a waste, and have made desolate your sanctuaries, and I smell not at your sweet fragrances;

32 “ Asolaré la tierra de tal modo que vuestros enemigos que se establezcan en ella queden pasmados.

and I have made desolate the land, and your enemies, who are dwelling in it, have been astonished at it.

33 “ A vosotros, sin embargo, os esparciré entre las naciones y desenvainaré la espada en pos de vosotros, y vuestra tierra será asolada y vuestras ciudades quedarán en ruinas.

And you I scatter among nations, and have drawn out after you a sword, and your land hath been a desolation, and your cities are a waste.

34 “ Entonces la tierra gozará de sus días de reposo durante todos los días de su desolación, mientras que habitéis en la tierra de vuestros enemigos; entonces descansará la tierra y gozará de sus días de reposo.

`Then doth the land enjoy its sabbaths -- all the days of the desolation, and ye in the land of your enemies -- then doth the land rest, and hath enjoyed its sabbaths;

35 “ Durante todos los días de su desolación la tierra guardará el descanso que no guardó en vuestros días de reposo mientras habitabais en ella.

all the days of the desolation it resteth that which it hath not rested in your sabbaths in your dwelling on it.

36 “ En cuanto a los que queden de vosotros, infundiré cobardía en sus corazones en la tierra de sus enemigos; y el sonido de una hoja que se mueva los ahuyentará, y aun cuando nadie los persiga, huirán como quien huye de la espada, y caerán.

`And those who are left of you -- I have also brought a faintness into their heart in the lands of their enemies, and the sound of a leaf driven away hath pursued them, and they have fled -- flight from a sword -- and they have fallen, and there is none pursuing.

37 “ Tropezarán unos con otros como si huyeran de la espada aunque nadie los persiga; no tendréis fuerza para hacer frente a vuestros enemigos.

And they have stumbled one on another, as from the face of a sword, and there is none pursuing, and ye have no standing before your enemies,

38 “ Y pereceréis entre las naciones y os devorará la tierra de vuestros enemigos.

and ye have perished among the nations, and the land of your enemies hath consumed you.

39 “ Así que los que sobrevivan de vosotros se pudrirán a causa de su iniquidad en la tierra de vuestros enemigos; también a causa de las iniquidades de sus antepasados se pudrirán juntamente con ellos.

`And those who are left of you -- they consume away in their iniquity, in the lands of your enemies; and also in the iniquities of their fathers, with them they consume away.

40 “ Si confiesan su iniquidad y la iniquidad de sus antepasados, por las infidelidades que cometieron contra mí, y también porque procedieron con hostilidad contra mí

`And -- they have confessed their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they have trespassed against Me, and also, that they have walked with Me, in opposition,

41 ( yo también procedía con hostilidad contra ellos para llevarlos a la tierra de sus enemigos), o si su corazón incircunciso se humilla, y reconocen sus iniquidades,

also I walk to them in opposition, and have brought them into the land of their enemies -- or then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and then they accept the punishment of their iniquity, --

42 e ntonces yo me acordaré de mi pacto con Jacob, me acordaré también de mi pacto con Isaac y de mi pacto con Abraham, y me acordaré de la tierra.

then I have remembered My covenant Jacob, and also My covenant Isaac, and also My covenant Abraham I remember, and the land I remember.

43 “ Porque la tierra será abandonada por ellos, y gozará de sus días de reposo mientras quede desolada con su ausencia. Entretanto, ellos pagarán su iniquidad, porque despreciaron mis ordenanzas y su alma aborreció mis estatutos.

`And -- the land is left of them, and doth enjoy its sabbaths, in the desolation without them, and they accept the punishment of their iniquity, because, even because, against My judgments they have kicked, and My statutes hath their soul loathed,

44 “ Sin embargo, a pesar de esto, cuando estén en la tierra de sus enemigos no los desecharé ni los aborreceré tanto como para destruirlos, quebrantando mi pacto con ellos, porque yo soy el Señor su Dios,

and also even this, in their being in the land of their enemies, I have not rejected them, nor have I loathed them, to consume them, to break My covenant with them; for I Jehovah their God; --

45 s ino que por ellos me acordaré del pacto con sus antepasados, que yo saqué de la tierra de Egipto a la vista de las naciones, para ser su Dios. Yo soy el Señor.”

then I have remembered for them the covenant of the ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations to become their God; I Jehovah.'

46 E stos son los estatutos, ordenanzas y leyes que el Señor estableció entre El y los hijos de Israel por medio de Moisés en el monte Sinaí.

These the statutes, and the judgments, and the laws, which Jehovah hath given between Him and the sons of Israel, in mount Sinai, by the hand of Moses.
