1 Y sucedió que el mismo año, al principio del reinado de Sedequías, rey de Judá, en el año cuarto, en el mes quinto, el profeta Hananías, hijo de Azur, que era de Gabaón, me habló en la casa del Señor en presencia de los sacerdotes y de todo el pueblo, diciendo:

And it cometh to pass, in that year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, spoken unto me hath Hananiah son of Azur the prophet, who of Gibeon, in the house of Jehovah, before the eyes of the priests, and all the people, saying,

2 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: “He quebrado el yugo del rey de Babilonia.

`Thus spake Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon;

3 “ Dentro de dos años haré volver a este lugar todos los utensilios de la casa del Señor, que Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, tomó de este lugar y llevó a Babilonia.

Within two years of days I am bringing back unto this place all the vessels of the house of Jehovah that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon hath taken from this place, and doth carry to Babylon,

4 “ Y a Jeconías, hijo de Joacim, rey de Judá, y a todos los desterrados de Judá que fueron a Babilonia, yo los haré volver a este lugar ” —declara el Señor — “porque romperé el yugo del rey de Babilonia.”

And Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the removed of Judah, who are entering Babylon, I am bringing back unto this place -- an affirmation of Jehovah; for I do break the yoke of the king of Babylon.'

5 E l profeta Jeremías respondió al profeta Hananías en presencia de los sacerdotes y en presencia de todo el pueblo que estaba de pie en la casa del Señor;

And Jeremiah the prophet saith unto Hananiah the prophet, before the eyes of the priests, and before the eyes of all the people who are standing in the house of Jehovah,

6 y el profeta Jeremías dijo: Amén, así lo haga el Señor. Confirme el Señor tus palabras, que has profetizado para que sean devueltos los utensilios de la casa del Señor y vuelvan todos los desterrados de Babilonia a este lugar.

Yea, Jeremiah the prophet saith, `Amen! so may Jehovah do; Jehovah establish thy words that thou hast prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the house of Jehovah and all the removal from Babylon, unto this place.

7 P ero oye ahora esta palabra que voy a hablar a tus oídos y a oídos de todo el pueblo:

`Only, hear, I pray thee, this word that I am speaking in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people.

8 L os profetas que fueron antes de mí y antes de ti desde la antigüedad, profetizaron guerra, calamidad y pestilencia contra muchas tierras y contra grandes reinos.

The prophets who have been before me, and before thee, from of old, even they prophesy concerning many lands, and concerning great kingdoms, of battle, and of evil, and of pestilence.

9 S i un profeta profetiza paz, cuando la palabra del profeta se cumpla, entonces ese profeta será conocido como el que el Señor en verdad ha enviado.

The prophet who doth prophesy of peace -- by the coming in of the word of the prophet, known is the prophet that Jehovah hath truly sent him.'

10 E ntonces el profeta Hananías quitó el yugo del cuello del profeta Jeremías y lo rompió.

And Hananiah the prophet taketh the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and breaketh it,

11 Y Hananías habló en presencia de todo el pueblo, diciendo: Así dice el Señor: “De esta manera romperé el yugo de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, dentro de dos años, del cuello de todas las naciones.” Y el profeta Jeremías se fue por su camino.

And Hananiah speaketh before the eyes of all the people, saying, `Thus said Jehovah, Thus I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, within two years of days, from off the neck of all the nations;' and Jeremiah the prophet goeth on his way.

12 E ntonces vino a Jeremías la palabra del Señor, después que Hananías había roto el yugo del cuello del profeta Jeremías, diciendo:

And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah after the breaking, by Hananiah the prophet, of the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, saying,

13 V e y habla a Hananías, diciendo: “Así dice el Señor: ‘Has roto yugos de madera, pero en su lugar harás yugos de hierro.’

`Go, and thou hast spoken unto Hananiah, saying, Thus said Jehovah, Yokes of wood thou hast broken, and I have made instead of them yokes of iron;

14 “ Porque así dice el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: ‘Yugo de hierro he puesto sobre el cuello de todas estas naciones, para que sirvan a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y le servirán. Y le he dado también las bestias del campo.’”

For thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, A yoke of iron I have put on the neck of all these nations to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they have served him, and also the beast of the field I have given to him.'

15 Y el profeta Jeremías dijo al profeta Hananías: Escucha ahora, Hananías, el Señor no te ha enviado, y tú has hecho que este pueblo confíe en una mentira.

And Jeremiah the prophet saith unto Hananiah the prophet, `Hear, I pray thee, O Hananiah; Jehovah hath not sent thee, and thou hast caused this people to trust on falsehood.

16 P or tanto, así dice el Señor: “He aquí, te voy a quitar de sobre la faz de la tierra. Este año morirás, porque has aconsejado la rebelión contra el Señor.”

Therefore thus said Jehovah, Lo, I am casting thee from off the face of the ground; this year thou diest, for apostacy thou hast spoken concerning Jehovah.'

17 Y murió el profeta Hananías aquel mismo año, en el mes séptimo.

And Hananiah the prophet dieth in that year, in the seventh month.
