1 Y los jefes de las casas paternas de la familia de los hijos de Galaad, hijo de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, de las familias de los hijos de José, se acercaron y hablaron ante Moisés y ante los jefes, las cabezas de las casas paternas de los hijos de Israel.

And the heads of the fathers of the families of the sons of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, come near, and speak before Moses, and before the princes, heads of the fathers of the sons of Israel,

2 Y dijeron: El Señor ordenó a mi señor dar la tierra por sorteo a los hijos de Israel por heredad, y el Señor ordenó a mi señor dar la heredad de Zelofehad, nuestro hermano, a sus hijas.

and say, Jehovah commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the sons of Israel, and my lord hath been commanded by Jehovah to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

3 P ero si ellas se casan con alguno de los hijos de las otras tribus de los hijos de Israel, su heredad será quitada de la herencia de nuestros padres, y será añadida a la heredad de la tribu a la que ellos pertenezcan; y así será quitada de nuestra heredad.

`And -- they have been to one of the sons of the tribes of the sons of Israel for wives, and their inheritance hath been withdrawn from the inheritance of our fathers, and hath been added to the inheritance of the tribe which is theirs, and from the lot of our inheritance it is withdrawn,

4 Y cuando llegue el jubileo de los hijos de Israel, entonces su heredad será añadida a la heredad de la tribu a la que ellos pertenezcan; así su heredad será quitada de la heredad de la tribu de nuestros padres.

and if it is the jubilee of the sons of Israel, then hath their inheritance been added to the inheritance of the tribe which is theirs, and from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers is their inheritance withdrawn.'

5 E ntonces Moisés ordenó a los hijos de Israel, conforme a la palabra del Señor, diciendo: La tribu de los hijos de José tiene razón en lo que dice.

And Moses commandeth the sons of Israel, by the command of Jehovah, saying, `Rightly are the tribe of the sons of Joseph speaking;

6 E sto es lo que el Señor ha ordenado tocante a las hijas de Zelofehad, diciendo: “Cásense con el que bien les parezca; pero deben casarse dentro de la familia de la tribu de su padre.”

this the thing which Jehovah hath commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, To those good in their eyes let them be for wives; only, to a family of the tribe of their fathers let them be for wives;

7 A sí, ninguna heredad de los hijos de Israel será traspasada de tribu a tribu, pues los hijos de Israel retendrán cada uno la heredad de la tribu de sus padres.

and the inheritance of the sons of Israel doth not turn round from tribe unto tribe; for each to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers, do the sons of Israel cleave.

8 Y toda hija que entre en posesión de una heredad en alguna de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, se casará con alguno de la familia de la tribu de su padre, a fin de que los hijos de Israel posean cada uno la heredad de sus padres.

`And every daughter possessing an inheritance, of the tribes of the sons of Israel, is to one of the family of the tribe of her father for a wife, so that the sons of Israel possess each the inheritance of his fathers,

9 D e esta manera, ninguna heredad será traspasada de una tribu a otra tribu, pues las tribus de los hijos de Israel retendrán cada una su propia heredad.

and the inheritance doth not turn round from tribe to another tribe; for each to his inheritance do they cleave, the tribes of the sons of Israel.'

10 Y las hijas de Zelofehad hicieron tal como el Señor había ordenado a Moisés,

As Jehovah hath commanded Moses, so have the daughters of Zelophehad done,

11 p ues Maala, Tirsa, Hogla, Milca y Noa, las hijas de Zelofehad, se casaron con los hijos de sus tíos.

and Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, daughters of Zelophehad, are to the sons of their fathers' brethren for wives;

12 S e casaron con los de las familias de los hijos de Manasés, hijo de José, y su heredad permaneció con la tribu de la familia de su padre.

of the families of the sons of Manasseh, son of Joseph, they have been for wives, and their inheritance is with the tribe of the family of their father.

13 E stos son los mandamientos y las ordenanzas que el Señor dio a los hijos de Israel por medio de Moisés en las llanuras de Moab, junto al Jordán, frente a Jericó.

These the commands and the judgments which Jehovah hath commanded, by the hand of Moses, concerning the sons of Israel, in the plains of Moab, by Jordan, Jericho.
