1 M anasés tenía doce años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó cincuenta y cinco años en Jerusalén.

A son of twelve years is Manasseh in his reigning, and fifty and five years he hath reigned in Jerusalem;

2 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor conforme a las abominaciones de las naciones que el Señor había desposeído delante de los hijos de Israel.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, like the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

3 P orque reedificó los lugares altos que su padre Ezequías había derribado; levantó también altares a los Baales e hizo Aseras, y adoró a todo el ejército de los cielos y los sirvió.

and he turneth and buildeth the high places that Hezekiah his father hath broken down, and raiseth altars for Baalim, and maketh shrines, and boweth himself to all the host of the heavens, and serveth them.

4 E dificó además altares en la casa del Señor, de la cual el Señor había dicho: Mi nombre estará en Jerusalén para siempre.

And he hath built altars in the house of Jehovah of which Jehovah had said, `In Jerusalem is My name to the age.'

5 E dificó altares a todo el ejército de los cielos en los dos atrios de la casa del Señor.

And he buildeth altars to all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of Jehovah.

6 H izo pasar por el fuego a sus hijos en el valle de Ben-hinom; practicó la hechicería, usó la adivinación, practicó la brujería y trató con médium y espiritistas. Hizo mucho mal ante los ojos del Señor, provocándole a ira.

And he hath caused his sons to pass over through fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and observed clouds and used enchantments and witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and a wizard; he hath multiplied to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.

7 C olocó la imagen tallada del ídolo que había hecho, en la casa de Dios, de la cual Dios había dicho a David y a su hijo Salomón: En esta casa y en Jerusalén, que he escogido de entre todas las tribus de Israel, pondré mi nombre para siempre,

And he placeth the graven image of the idol that he made in the house of God, of which God said unto David, and unto Solomon his son, `In this house, and in Jerusalem that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I put My name to the age,

8 y no volveré a quitar el pie de Israel de la tierra que yo he asignado para vuestros padres, con tal de que cuiden de hacer todo lo que les he mandado conforme a toda la ley, los estatutos y las ordenanzas dados por medio de Moisés.

and I add not to turn aside the foot of Israel from off the ground that I appointed to your fathers, only, if they watch to do all that I have commanded them -- to all the law, and the statutes, and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.'

9 A sí hizo extraviar Manasés a Judá y a los habitantes de Jerusalén para que hicieran lo malo más que las naciones que el Señor había destruido delante de los hijos de Israel.

And Manasseh maketh Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, to do evil above the nations that Jehovah destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.

10 Y el Señor habló a Manasés y a su pueblo, pero ellos no hicieron caso.

And Jehovah speaketh unto Manasseh and unto his people, and they have not attended,

11 P or eso el Señor hizo venir contra ellos a los comandantes del ejército del rey de Asiria, que capturaron a Manasés con garfios, lo ataron con cadenas de bronce y lo llevaron a Babilonia.

and Jehovah bringeth in against them the heads of the host that the king of Asshur hath, and they capture Manasseh among the thickets, and bind him with brazen fetters, and cause him to go to Babylon.

12 C uando estaba en angustia, imploró al Señor su Dios, y se humilló grandemente delante del Dios de sus padres.

And when he is in distress he hath appeased the face of Jehovah his God, and is humbled exceedingly before the God of his fathers,

13 Y cuando oró a El, Dios se conmovió por su ruego, oyó su súplica y lo trajo de nuevo a Jerusalén, a su reino. Entonces Manasés supo que el Señor era Dios.

and prayeth unto Him, and He is entreated of him, and heareth his supplication, and bringeth him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom, and Manasseh knoweth that Jehovah -- He God.

14 D espués de esto, edificó la muralla exterior de la ciudad de David al occidente de Gihón, en el valle, hasta la entrada de la puerta del Pescado; y rodeó con ella el Ofel y la hizo muy alta. Entonces puso comandantes del ejército en todas las ciudades fortificadas de Judá.

And after this he hath built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west of Gihon, in the valley, and at the entering in at the fish-gate, and it hath gone round to the tower, and he maketh it exceeding high, and he putteth heads of the force in all the cities of the bulwarks in Judah.

15 T ambién quitó los dioses extranjeros y el ídolo de la casa del Señor, así como todos los altares que había edificado en el monte de la casa del Señor y en Jerusalén, y los arrojó fuera de la ciudad.

And he turneth aside the gods of the stranger, and the idol, out of the house of Jehovah, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of Jehovah and in Jerusalem, and casteth to the outside of the city.

16 Y reparó el altar del Señor, y sacrificó sobre él ofrendas de paz y ofrendas de gratitud; y ordenó a Judá que sirviera al Señor, Dios de Israel.

And he buildeth the altar of Jehovah, and sacrificeth upon it sacrifices of peace-offerings and thank-offering, and saith to Judah to serve Jehovah, God of Israel;

17 S in embargo, el pueblo aún sacrificaba en los lugares altos, aunque sólo al Señor su Dios.

but still the people are sacrificing in high places, only -- to Jehovah their God.

18 L os demás hechos de Manasés, y su oración a su Dios, y las palabras de los videntes que le hablaron en el nombre del Señor, Dios de Israel, he aquí, están en los registros de los reyes de Israel.

And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the matters of the seers, those speaking unto him in the name of Jehovah, God of Israel, lo, they are the matters of the kings of Israel;

19 T ambién su oración y cómo fue oído, todo su pecado y su infidelidad, y los sitios donde edificó lugares altos y levantó las Aseras y las imágenes talladas antes de humillarse, he aquí, están escritos en los registros de los Hozai.

and his prayer, and his entreaty, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places in which he had built high places, and established the shrines and the graven images before his being humbled, lo, they are written beside the matters of Hozai.

20 Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en su casa; y su hijo Amón reinó en su lugar. Reinado de Amón

And Manasseh lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in his own house, and reign doth Amon his son in his stead.

21 A món tenía veintidós años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalén.

A son of twenty and two years Amon in his reigning, and two years he hath reigned in Jerusalem,

22 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, como había hecho su padre Manasés; y Amón ofreció sacrificios a todas las imágenes talladas que su padre Manasés había hecho, y las sirvió.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father, and to all the graven images that Manasseh his father had made hath Amon sacrificed, and serveth them,

23 A demás, no se humilló delante del Señor como su padre Manasés se había humillado, sino que Amón aumentó su culpa.

and hath not been humbled before Jehovah, like the humbling of Manasseh his father, for Amon himself hath multiplied guilt.

24 Y conspiraron contra él sus siervos y le dieron muerte en su casa.

And his servants conspire against him, and put him to death in his own house,

25 P ero el pueblo de la tierra mató a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón; y en su lugar el pueblo de la tierra hizo rey a su hijo Josías.

and the people of the land smite all those conspiring against king Amon, and the people of the land cause Josiah his son to reign in his stead.
