1 A sí que, nosotros los que somos fuertes, debemos sobrellevar las flaquezas de los débiles y no agradarnos a nosotros mismos.

And we ought -- we who are strong -- to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves;

2 C ada uno de nosotros agrade a su prójimo en lo que es bueno para su edificación.

for let each one of us please the neighbor for good, unto edification,

3 P ues ni aun Cristo se agradó a sí mismo; antes bien, como está escrito: Los vituperios de los que te injuriaban cayeron sobre mi.

for even the Christ did not please himself, but, according as it hath been written, `The reproaches of those reproaching Thee fell upon me;'

4 P orque todo lo que fue escrito en tiempos pasados, para nuestra enseñanza se escribió, a fin de que por medio de la paciencia y del consuelo de las Escrituras tengamos esperanza.

for, as many things as were written before, for our instruction were written before, that through the endurance, and the exhortation of the Writings, we might have the hope.

5 Y que el Dios de la paciencia y del consuelo os conceda tener el mismo sentir los unos para con los otros conforme a Cristo Jesús,

And may the God of the endurance, and of the exhortation, give to you to have the same mind toward one another, according to Christ Jesus;

6 p ara que unánimes, a una voz, glorifiquéis al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. El evangelio a los gentiles

that with one accord -- with one mouth -- ye may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ;

7 P or tanto, aceptaos los unos a los otros, como también Cristo nos aceptó para gloria de Dios.

wherefore receive ye one another, according as also the Christ did receive us, to the glory of God.

8 P ues os digo que Cristo se hizo servidor de la circuncisión para demostrar la verdad de Dios, para confirmar las promesas dadas a los padres,

And I say Jesus Christ to have become a ministrant of circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises to the fathers,

9 y para que los gentiles glorifiquen a Dios por su misericordia; como está escrito: Por tanto, te confesare entre los gentiles, y a tu nombre cantare.

and the nations for kindness to glorify God, according as it hath been written, `Because of this I will confess to Thee among nations, and to Thy name I will sing praise,'

10 Y vuelve a decir: Regocijaos, gentiles, con su pueblo.

and again it saith, `Rejoice ye nations, with His people;'

11 Y de nuevo: Alabad al Señor todos los gentiles, y alabenle todos los pueblos.

and again, `Praise the Lord, all ye nations; and laud Him, all ye peoples;'

12 Y a su vez, Isaías dice: Retoñara la raiz de Isai, el que se levanta a regir a los gentiles; los gentiles pondran en El su esperanza.

and again, Isaiah saith, `There shall be the root of Jesse, and he who is rising to rule nations -- upon him shall nations hope;'

13 Y el Dios de la esperanza os llene de todo gozo y paz en el creer, para que abundéis en esperanza por el poder del Espíritu Santo.

and the God of the hope shall fill you with all joy and peace in the believing, for your abounding in the hope in power of the Holy Spirit.

14 E n cuanto a vosotros, hermanos míos, yo mismo estoy también convencido de que vosotros estáis llenos de bondad, llenos de todo conocimiento y capaces también de amonestaros los unos a los otros.

And I am persuaded, my brethren -- I myself also -- concerning you, that ye yourselves also are full of goodness, having been filled with all knowledge, able also one another to admonish;

15 P ero os he escrito con atrevimiento sobre algunas cosas, para así hacer que las recordéis otra vez, por la gracia que me fue dada por Dios,

and the more boldly I did write to you, brethren, in part, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me by God,

16 p ara ser ministro de Cristo Jesús a los gentiles, ministrando a manera de sacerdote el evangelio de Dios, a fin de que la ofrenda que hago de los gentiles sea aceptable, santificada por el Espíritu Santo.

for my being a servant of Jesus Christ to the nations, acting as priest in the good news of God, that the offering up of the nations may become acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

17 P or tanto, en Cristo Jesús he hallado razón para gloriarme en las cosas que se refieren a Dios.

I have, then, a boasting in Christ Jesus, in the things pertaining to God,

18 P orque no me atreveré a hablar de nada sino de lo que Cristo ha hecho por medio de mí para la obediencia de los gentiles, en palabra y en obra,

for I will not dare to speak anything of the things that Christ did not work through me, to obedience of nations, by word and deed,

19 c on el poder de señales y prodigios, en el poder del Espíritu de Dios; de manera que desde Jerusalén y por los alrededores hasta el Ilírico he predicado en toda su plenitud el evangelio de Cristo.

in power of signs and wonders, in power of the Spirit of God; so that I, from Jerusalem, and in a circle as far as Illyricum, have fully preached the good news of the Christ;

20 D e esta manera me esforcé en anunciar el evangelio, no donde Cristo ya era conocido, para no edificar sobre el fundamento de otro;

and so counting it honour to proclaim good news, not where Christ was named -- that upon another's foundation I might not build --

21 s ino como está escrito: Aquellos a quienes nunca les fue anunciado acerca de El, veran, y los que no han oido, entenderan. Anhelo de Pablo de visitar Roma

but according as it hath been written, `To whom it was not told concerning him, they shall see; and they who have not heard, shall understand.'

22 P or esta razón muchas veces me he visto impedido de ir a vosotros,

Wherefore, also, I was hindered many times from coming unto you,

23 p ero ahora, no quedando ya más lugares para mí en estas regiones, y puesto que por muchos años he tenido un gran deseo de ir a vosotros,

and now, no longer having place in these parts, and having a longing to come unto you for many years,

24 c uando vaya a España iré a vosotros. Porque espero veros al pasar y que me ayudéis a continuar hacia allá, después de que haya disfrutado un poco de vuestra compañía.

when I may go on to Spain I will come unto you, for I hope in going through, to see you, and by you to be set forward thither, if of you first, in part, I shall be filled.

25 P ero ahora voy a Jerusalén para el servicio de los santos,

And, now, I go on to Jerusalem, ministering to the saints;

26 p ues Macedonia y Acaya han tenido a bien hacer una colecta para los pobres de entre los santos que están en Jerusalén.

for it pleased Macedonia and Achaia well to make a certain contribution for the poor of the saints who in Jerusalem;

27 S í, tuvieron a bien hacerlo, y a la verdad que están en deuda con ellos. Porque si los gentiles han participado de sus bienes espirituales, también están obligados a servir a los santos en los bienes materiales.

for it pleased well, and their debtors they are, for if in their spiritual things the nations did participate, they ought also, in the fleshly things, to minister to them.

28 A sí que cuando haya cumplido esto y les haya entregado esta ofrenda, iré a España llegando de paso a ver os.

This, then, having finished, and having sealed to them this fruit, I will return through you, to Spain;

29 Y sé que cuando vaya a vosotros, iré en la plenitud de la bendición de Cristo.

and I have known that coming unto you -- in the fulness of the blessing of the good news of Christ I shall come.

30 O s ruego, hermanos, por nuestro Señor Jesucristo y por el amor del Espíritu, que os esforcéis juntamente conmigo en vuestras oraciones a Dios por mí,

And I call upon you, brethren, through our Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in the prayers for me unto God,

31 p ara que sea librado de los que son desobedientes en Judea, y que mi servicio a Jerusalén sea aceptable a los santos,

that I may be delivered from those not believing in Judea, and that my ministration, that for Jerusalem, may become acceptable to the saints;

32 y para que con gozo llegue a vosotros por la voluntad de Dios, y encuentre confortante reposo con vosotros.

that in joy I may come unto you, through the will of God, and may be refreshed with you,

33 E l Dios de paz sea con todos vosotros. Amén.

and the God of the peace with you all. Amen.
