1 T en piedad de mí, oh Dios, conforme a tu misericordia; conforme a lo inmenso de tu compasión, borra mis transgresiones.

To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David, in the coming inn unto him of Nathan the prophet, when he hath gone in unto Bath-Sheba. Favour me, O God, according to Thy kindness, According to the abundance of Thy mercies, Blot out my transgressions.

2 L ávame por completo de mi maldad, y límpiame de mi pecado.

Thoroughly wash me from mine iniquity, And from my sin cleanse me,

3 P orque yo reconozco mis transgresiones, y mi pecado está siempre delante de mí.

For my transgressions I do know, And my sin before me continually.

4 C ontra ti, contra ti sólo he pecado, y he hecho lo malo delante de tus ojos, de manera que eres justo cuando hablas, y sin reproche cuando juzgas.

Against Thee, Thee only, I have sinned, And done the evil thing in Thine eyes, So that Thou art righteous in Thy words, Thou art pure in Thy judging.

5 H e aquí, yo nací en iniquidad, y en pecado me concibió mi madre.

Lo, in iniquity I have been brought forth, And in sin doth my mother conceive me.

6 H e aquí, tú deseas la verdad en lo más íntimo, y en lo secreto me harás conocer sabiduría.

Lo, truth Thou hast desired in the inward parts, And in the hidden part Wisdom Thou causest me to know.

7 P urifícame con hisopo, y seré limpio; lávame, y seré más blanco que la nieve.

Thou cleansest me with hyssop and I am clean, Washest me, and than snow I am whiter.

8 H azme oír gozo y alegría; que se regocijen los huesos que has quebrantado.

Thou causest me to hear joy and gladness, Thou makest joyful bones Thou hast bruised.

9 E sconde tu rostro de mis pecados, y borra todas mis iniquidades.

Hide Thy face from my sin. And all mine iniquities blot out.

10 C rea en mí, oh Dios, un corazón limpio, y renueva un espíritu recto dentro de mí.

A clean heart prepare for me, O God, And a right spirit renew within me.

11 N o me eches de tu presencia, y no quites de mí tu santo Espíritu.

Cast me not forth from Thy presence, And Thy Holy Spirit take not from me.

12 R estitúyeme el gozo de tu salvación, y sostenme con un espíritu de poder.

Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation, And a willing spirit doth sustain me.

13 E ntonces enseñaré a los transgresores tus caminos, y los pecadores se convertirán a ti.

I teach transgressors Thy ways, And sinners unto Thee do return.

14 L íbrame de delitos de sangre, oh Dios, Dios de mi salvación; entonces mi lengua cantará con gozo tu justicia.

Deliver me from blood, O God, God of my salvation, My tongue singeth of Thy righteousness.

15 A bre mis labios, oh Señor, para que mi boca anuncie tu alabanza.

O Lord, my lips thou dost open, And my mouth declareth Thy praise.

16 P orque no te deleitas en sacrificio, de lo contrario yo lo ofrecería; no te agrada el holocausto.

For Thou desirest not sacrifice, or I give, Burnt-offering Thou acceptest not.

17 L os sacrificios de Dios son el espíritu contrito; al corazón contrito y humillado, oh Dios, no despreciarás.

The sacrifices of God a broken spirit, A heart broken and bruised, O God, Thou dost not despise.

18 H az bien con tu benevolencia a Sion; edifica los muros de Jerusalén.

Do good in Thy good pleasure with Zion, Thou dost build the walls of Jerusalem.

19 E ntonces te agradarán los sacrificios de justicia, el holocausto y el sacrificio perfecto; entonces se ofrecerán novillos sobre tu altar.

Then Thou desirest sacrifices of righteousness, Burnt-offering, and whole burnt-offering, Then they offer bullocks on thine altar!
