1 E n el año dieciocho del rey Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, Abiam comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

And in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam son of Nebat, reigned hath Abijam over Judah;

2 R einó tres años en Jerusalén; y el nombre de su madre era Maaca, hija de Abisalom.

three years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Maachah daughter of Abishalom;

3 Y anduvo en todos los pecados que su padre había cometido antes de él; y su corazón no estuvo dedicado por entero al Señor su Dios, como el corazón de su padre David.

and he walketh in all the sins of his father, that he did before him, and his heart hath not been perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father;

4 P ero por amor a David, el Señor su Dios le dio una lámpara en Jerusalén, levantando a su hijo después de él y sosteniendo a Jerusalén;

but for David's sake hath Jehovah his God given to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,

5 p orque David había hecho lo recto ante los ojos del Señor, y no se había apartado de nada de lo que El le había ordenado durante todos los días de su vida, excepto en el caso de Urías hitita.

in that David did that which right in the eyes of Jehovah, and turned not aside from all that He commanded him all days of his life -- only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;

6 Y hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días de su vida.

and war hath been between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

7 L os demás hechos de Abiam y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Y hubo guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.

And the rest of the matters of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah? And war hath been between Abijam and Jeroboam;

8 Y durmió Abiam con sus padres y lo sepultaron en la ciudad de David; y su hijo Asa reinó en su lugar. Reinados de Asa y Nadab

and Abijam lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in the city of David, and reign doth Asa his son in his stead.

9 E n el año veinte de Jeroboam, rey de Israel, Asa comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned hath Asa over Judah,

10 R einó cuarenta y un años en Jerusalén; y el nombre de su madre era Maaca, hija de Abisalom.

and forty and one years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Maachah daughter of Abishalom.

11 A sa hizo lo recto ante los ojos del Señor, como David su padre.

And Asa doth that which right in the eyes of Jehovah, like David his father,

12 T ambién expulsó de la tierra a los sodomitas de cultos paganos, y quitó todos los ídolos que sus padres habían hecho.

and removeth the whoremongers out of the land, and turneth aside all the idols that his fathers made;

13 T ambién quitó a Maaca su madre de ser reina madre, porque ella había hecho una horrible imagen de Asera; Asa derribó su horrible imagen y la quemó junto al torrente Cedrón.

and also Maachah his mother -- he turneth her aside from being mistress, in that she made a horrible thing for a shrine, and Asa cutteth down her horrible thing, and burneth by the brook Kidron;

14 P ero los lugares altos no fueron quitados; sin embargo el corazón de Asa estuvo dedicado por entero al Señor todos sus días.

and the high places have not turned aside; only, the heart of Asa hath been perfect with Jehovah all his days,

15 Y trajo a la casa del Señor las cosas consagradas por su padre y sus propias cosas consagradas: plata, oro y utensilios.

and he bringeth in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of Jehovah, silver, and gold, and vessels.

16 Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, todos sus días.

And war hath been between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days,

17 Y Baasa, rey de Israel, subió contra Judá y fortificó Ramá para prevenir que nadie saliera o entrara en ayuda de Asa, rey de Judá.

and Baasha king of Israel goeth up against Judah, and buildeth Ramah, not to permit any one going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.

18 E ntonces Asa tomó toda la plata y el oro que había quedado en los tesoros de la casa del Señor y en los tesoros de la casa del rey, y los entregó en manos de sus siervos. Y el rey Asa los envió a Ben-adad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Aram, que habitaba en Damasco, diciendo:

And Asa taketh all the silver and the gold that are left in the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the house of the king, and giveth them into the hand of his servants, and king Asa sendeth them unto Ben-Hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,

19 H aya alianza entre tú y yo, como hubo entre mi padre y tu padre. He aquí, te he enviado un presente de plata y de oro; ve, rompe tu alianza con Baasa, rey de Israel, para que se aparte de mí.

`A covenant between me and thee, between my father and thy father; lo, I have sent to thee a reward of silver and gold; go, break thy covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goeth up from off me.'

20 B en-adad escuchó al rey Asa y envió a los jefes de sus ejércitos contra las ciudades de Israel, y conquistó Ijón, Dan, Abel-bet-maaca, y toda Cineret, además de toda la tierra de Neftalí.

And Ben-Hadad hearkeneth unto king Asa, and sendeth the heads of the forces that he hath against cities of Israel, and smiteth Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali;

21 Y sucedió que cuando Baasa lo oyó, dejó de fortificar Ramá, y se quedó en Tirsa.

and it cometh to pass at Baasha's hearing, that he ceaseth from building Ramah, and dwelleth in Tirzah.

22 E ntonces el rey Asa hizo proclamación a todo Judá, sin excepción, y se llevaron las piedras de Ramá y la madera con que Baasa había estado edificando. Y con ellas el rey Asa fortificó Geba de Benjamín y Mizpa.

And king Asa hath summoned all Judah -- there is none exempt -- and they lift up the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha hath built, and king Asa buildeth with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

23 L os demás hechos de Asa y todo su poderío, todo lo que hizo y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Sólo que en el tiempo de su vejez se enfermó de los pies.

And the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;

24 Y durmió Asa con sus padres y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David su padre; y su hijo Josafat reinó en su lugar.

and Asa lieth with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and Jehoshaphat his son reigneth in his stead.

25 Y Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en el segundo año de Asa, rey de Judá, y reinó sobre Israel dos años.

And Nadab son of Jeroboam hath reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigneth over Israel two years,

26 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, y anduvo en el camino de su padre y en el pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel.

and doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and goeth in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.

27 E ntonces Baasa, hijo de Ahías, de la casa de Isacar, conspiró contra él, y Baasa lo hirió en Gibetón, que pertenecía a los filisteos, mientras Nadab y todo Israel sitiaban a Gibetón.

And conspire against him doth Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, and Baasha smiteth him in Gibbethon, which to the Philistines -- and Nadab and all Israel are laying siege against Gibbethon --

28 B aasa lo mató en el tercer año de Asa, rey de Judá, y reinó en su lugar.

yea, Baasha putteth him to death in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigneth in his stead.

29 Y sucedió que en cuanto fue rey, hirió a toda la casa de Jeroboam. No dejó con vida a ninguno de los de Jeroboam, hasta destruirlos, conforme a la palabra que el Señor había hablado por medio de su siervo Ahías silonita,

And it cometh to pass, at his reigning, he hath smitten the whole house of Jeroboam, he hath not left any breathing to Jeroboam till his destroying him, according to the word of Jehovah, that He spake by the hand of His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

30 p or los pecados que Jeroboam había cometido, y con los cuales había hecho pecar a Israel, y por la provocación con que provocó a ira al Señor, Dios de Israel.

because of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin, by his provocation with which he provoked to anger Jehovah, God of Israel.

31 L os demás hechos de Nadab y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

And the rest of the matters of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?

32 H ubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, todos los días que vivieron. Reinado de Baasa

And war hath been between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

33 E n el tercer año de Asa, rey de Judá, Baasa, hijo de Ahías, comenzó a reinar sobre todo Israel en Tirsa, y reinó veinticuatro años.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah reigned hath Baasha son of Ahijah over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years,

34 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, y anduvo en el camino de Jeroboam y en el pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and walketh in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.
