1 А ко се въздигне всред тебе пророк или съновидец и ти означи знамение или чудо,

`When there ariseth in your midst a prophet, or a dreamer of a dream, and he hath given unto thee a sign or wonder,

2 и се сбъдне знамението или чудото, поради което той ти говори, казвайки: Да идем след други богове, (които ти не си знаел), и да им служим, -

and the sign and the wonder hath come which he hath spoken of unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods (which thou hast not known), and serve them,

3 д а не слушаш думите на оня пророк или на оня съновидец; защото Господ вашият Бог ви изпитва, за да узнае дали любите Господа вашия Бог с цялото си сърце и с цялата си душа.

thou dost not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of the dream, for Jehovah your God is trying you, to know whether ye are loving Jehovah your God with all your heart, and with all your soul;

4 Г оспода вашия Бог да следвате, от Него да се боите, Неговите заповеди да пазите, Неговия глас да слушате, Нему да слугувате и Нему да сте привързани.

after Jehovah your God ye walk, and Him ye fear, and His commands ye keep, and to His voice ye hearken, and Him ye serve, and to Him ye cleave.

5 А оня пророк или оня съновидец да се умъртви; защото е проповядвал отстъпление от Господа вашия Бог, Който ви е извел из Египетската земя и ви е изкупил от дома на робството, за да те отклони от пътя, в който Господ твоят Бог ти заповяда да ходиш. Така да отмахнеш злото отсред себе си.

`And that prophet, or that dreamer of the dream, is put to death, for he hath spoken apostacy against Jehovah your God (who is bringing you out of the land of Egypt, and hath ransomed you out of a house of servants), to drive you out of the way in which Jehovah thy God hath commanded thee to walk, and thou hast put away the evil thing from thy midst.

6 Б рат ти, син на майка ти, или синът ти, или дъщеря ти, или жената, <която почива> на пазухата ти, или приятелят, който ти е като душата ти, ако те изкуси тайно, като рече: Да идем и да служим на други богове, - които нито ти си знаел, нито бащите ти,

`When thy brother -- son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend who as thine own soul -- doth move thee, in secret, saying, Let us go and serve other gods -- (which thou hast not known, thou and thy fathers,

7 и змежду боговете на племената, които са около вас, близо при тебе, или далеч от тебе, от единия край на света до другия,

of the gods of the peoples who round about you, who are near unto thee, or who are far off from thee, from the end of the earth even unto the end of the earth) --

8 д а не се съгласиш с него нито да го слушаш, нито да го пощади окото ти, нито да го пожалиш нито да го укриеш;

thou dost not consent to him, nor hearken unto him, nor doth thine eye have pity on him, nor dost thou spare, nor dost thou cover him over.

9 н о непременно да го умъртвиш; твоята ръка да бъде първа на него, за да го убиеш, и после ръката на всичките люде.

`But thou dost surely kill him; thy hand is on him, in the first place, to put him to death, and the hand of all the people last;

10 Д а го убиеш с камъни, за да умре, защото поиска да те отклони от Господа твоя Бог, Който те изведе из Египетската земя, из дома на робството.

and thou hast stoned him with stones, and he hath died, for he hath sought to drive thee away from Jehovah thy God, who is bringing thee out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants;

11 И целият Израил като чуе ще се убои и няма да върши вече такова зло всред тебе.

and all Israel do hear and fear, and add not to do like this evil thing in thy midst.

12 А ко, между градовете, които Господ твоят Бог ти дава, за да се заселиш в тях, чуеш да се казва за един <от тях>:

`When thou hearest, in one of thy cities which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee to dwell there, saying,

13 Н якои подлеци, излезли изсред тебе, са отклонили жителите на града си, като са казали: Да идем да служим на други богове, които вие не сте знаели,

Men, sons of worthlessness, have gone out of thy midst, and they force away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known --

14 т огава да изследваш, да изпиташ и добре да издириш; и, ето, ако това нещо е истинно и е вярно, че такава мерзост е сторена всред тебе,

and thou hast enquired, and searched, and asked diligently, and lo, truth; the thing is established; this abomination hath been done in thy midst:

15 т о непременно да поразиш жителите на оня град с острото на ножа, и с острото на ножа да обречеш на <изтребление> него и всички, които са в него, и добитъка му.

`Thou dost surely smite the inhabitants of that city by the mouth of the sword; devoting it, and all that in it, even its cattle, by the mouth of the sword;

16 Т огава, като събереш всичките користи от него всред площада му, съвсем да изгориш с огън града и всичките користи от него за Господа твоя Бог; и той ще бъде могила до века, да се не съгради вече.

and all its spoil thou dost gather unto the midst of its broad place, and hast burned with fire the city and all its spoil completely, before Jehovah thy God, and it hath been a heap age-during, it is not built any more;

17 Н ищо от обреченото <на изтребление> да се не залепи за ръката ти; за да се върне Господ от яростния Си гняв и да ти покаже милост, да те пожали, и да те умножи, както се е клел на бащите ти,

and there doth not cleave to thy hand any of the devoted thing, so that Jehovah doth turn back from the fierceness of His anger, and hath given to thee mercies, and loved thee, and multiplied thee, as He hath sworn to thy fathers,

18 а ко послушаш гласа на Иеова твоя Бог, да пазиш всичките Му заповеди, които днес ти заповядвам, да вършиш това, което е право пред Господа твоя Бог.

when thou dost hearken to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep all his commands which I am commanding thee to-day, to do that which right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.
