1 И Вооз възлезе на портата и седна там; и, ето, минаваше близкият сродник, за когото беше говорил Вооз. И рече: Господине, свърни, седни тук. И той свърна и седна.

And Boaz hath gone up to the gate, and sitteth there, and lo, the redeemer is passing by of whom Boaz had spoken, and he saith, `Turn aside, sit down here, such a one, such a one;' and he turneth aside and sitteth down.

2 Т огава Вооз събра десет мъже от градските старейшини и рече: Седнете тук. И те седнаха.

And he taketh ten men of the elders of the city, and saith, `Sit down here;' and they sit down.

3 П осле рече на сродника: Ноемин, която се върна от Моавската земя, продава нивата, дела, който принадлежеше на брата ни Елимелеха;

And he saith to the redeemer, `A portion of the field which to our brother, to Elimelech, hath Naomi sold, who hath come back from the fields of Moab;

4 а аз рекох да ти известя и да ти кажа: Купи го пред седящите тука, пред старейшините на людете ми. Ако щеш да го откупиш като сродник, откупи го; но, ако не щеш да го откупиш, кажи ми, за да зная; защото освен тебе, няма друг да го откупи, като сродник; и аз съм подир тебе. И той рече: Аз ще го откупя.

and I said, I uncover thine ear, saying, Buy before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people; if thou dost redeem -- redeem, and if none doth redeem -- declare to me, and I know, for there is none save thee to redeem, and I after thee.' And he saith, I redeem.'

5 И рече Вооз: В деня, когато купиш нивата от ръката на Ноемин, трябва да я купиш и от моавката Рут, жена на умрелия, за да възстановиш името на умрелия над наследството му.

And Boaz saith, `In the day of thy buying the field from the hand of Naomi, then from Ruth the Moabitess, wife of the dead, thou hast bought, to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance.'

6 Т огава сродникът рече: Не мога да изпълня длъжността на сродник, да не би да напакостя на своето си наследство; ти приеми върху себе си моето право да откупя, защото не мога да откупя <нивата>.

And the redeemer saith, `I am not able to redeem for myself, lest I destroy mine inheritance; redeem for thyself -- thou -- my right of redemption, for I am not able to redeem.'

7 А в старо време, за да се утвърди всяко дело по откупване и размяна в Израиля, ето що беше <обичаят>: човекът изуваше обувката си, та я даваше на ближния си; и така се свидетелствуваше в Израиля.

And this formerly in Israel for redemption and for changing, to establish anything: a man hath drawn off his sandal, and given to his neighbour, and this the testimony in Israel.

8 З а това, сродникът като каза на Вооза: Купи го ти за себе си, изу си обувката.

And the redeemer saith to Boaz, `Buy for thyself,' and draweth off his sandal.

9 Т огава Вооз каза на старейшините и на всичките люде: Днес сте свидетели, че купувам от ръката на Ноемин всичко, що беше Елимелехово и всичко що беше Хелеоново и Маалоново.

And Boaz saith to the elders, and all the people, `Witnesses ye to-day that I have bought all that to Elimelech, and all that to Chilion and Mahlon, from the hand of Naomi;

10 А още и моавката Рут Маалоновата жена, придобих за жена, за да възстановя името на умрелия над наследството му, за да се не изличи името на умрелия измежду братята му и из града на обитаването му; вие сте свидетели днес.

and also Ruth the Moabitess, wife of Mahlon, I have bought to myself for a wife, to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance; and the name of the dead is not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place; witnesses ye to-day.'

11 И всичките люде, които бяха в портата, и старейшините рекоха: Свидетели сме. Господ да направи жената, която влиза в дома ти, като Рахил и като Лия, двете, които са съградили Израилевия дом; и да станеш силен в Ефрата, и да бъдеш знаменит във Витлеем;

And all the people who in the gate say -- also the elders -- `Witnesses! Jehovah make the woman who is coming in unto thy house as Rachel and as Leah, both of whom built the house of Israel; and do thou virtuously in Ephrathah, and proclaim the Name in Beth-Lehem;

12 и от потомството, което Господ ще ти даде от тая млада жена, нека бъде домът ти като дома на Фареса, когото Тамар роди на Юда.

and let thy house be as the house of Pharez (whom Tamar bare to Judah), of the seed which Jehovah doth give to thee of this young woman.'

13 И така, Вооз взе Рут, и тя му стана жена; и като влезе при нея, Господ й даде зачатие, и тя роди син.

And Boaz taketh Ruth, and she becometh his wife, and he goeth in unto her, and Jehovah giveth to her conception, and she beareth a son.

14 И жените казаха на Ноемин: Благословен Господ, Който днес не те остави без сродник; нека бъде прочуто Името Му в Израиля.

And the women say unto Naomi, `Blessed Jehovah who hath not let a redeemer cease to thee to-day, and his name is proclaimed in Israel,

15 Т оя <син> ще ти бъде обнова на живота и прехрана в старините ти; защото го роди снаха ти, която те обича, която е за тебе по-желателна от седем сина.

and he hath been to thee for a restorer of life, and for a nourisher of thine old age, for thy daughter-in-law who hath loved thee -- who is better to thee than seven sons -- hath borne him.'

16 И Ноемин взе детето и тури го в пазухата си, и стана му кърмилница.

And Naomi taketh the lad, and layeth him in her bosom, and is to him for a nurse;

17 И съседките му дадоха име казвайки: Син се роди на Ноемин. И нарекоха го Овид; той е баща на Есея, Давидовия баща.

and the neighbouring women give to him a name, saying, `There hath been a son born to Naomi,' and they call his name Obed; he father of Jesse, father of David.

18 И ето, Фаресовото родословие: Фарес роди Есрона,

And these are genealogies of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron,

19 Е срон роди Арама, Арам роди Аминадава,

and Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminidab,

20 А минадав роди Наасона, Наасон роди Салмона,

and Amminidab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon,

21 С алмон роди Вооза, Вооз роди Овида,

and Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,

22 О вид роди Есея, а Есей роди Давида.

and Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
