1 Т огава Иов в отговор рече: -

And Job answereth and saith: --

2 Н аистина <само> вие сте люде, И с вас ще умре мъдростта!

Truly -- ye the people, And with you doth wisdom die.

3 Н о и аз имам разум както и вие; Не съм по-долен от вас; И такива работи, кой ги не знае?

I also have a heart like you, I am not fallen more than you, And with whom is there not like these?

4 С танах за поругание на ближния си, Човек, който призовавах Бога, и Той му отговаряше, - Праведният, непорочният човек стана за поругание!

A laughter to his friend I am: `He calleth to God, and He answereth him,' A laughter the perfect righteous one.

5 Т оя, чиито нозе са близо до подхлъзване, Е като презрян светилник в мисълта на благополучния.

A torch -- despised in the thoughts of the secure Is prepared for those sliding with the feet.

6 Ш атрите на разбойниците са в благоденствие, И тия, които разгневяват Бога, са в безопасност; Бог докарва< изобилие> в ръцете им.

At peace are the tents of spoilers, And those provoking God have confidence, He into whose hand God hath brought.

7 Н о попитай сега животните, и те ще те научат, И въздушните птици, и ще ти кажат;

And yet, ask, I pray thee, the beasts, and it doth shew thee, And a fowl of the heavens, And it doth declare to thee.

8 И ли говори на земята, и тя ще те научи, И морските риби ще ти изявят.

Or talk to the earth, and it sheweth thee, And fishes of the sea recount to thee:

9 О т всички тия кой не разбира, Че ръката на Господа е сторила това? -

`Who hath not known in all these, That the hand of Jehovah hath done this?

10 В Чиято ръка е душата на всичко живо, И дишането на цялото човечество.

In whose hand the breath of every living thing, And the spirit of all flesh of man.'

11 У хото не изпитва ли думите, Както небцето вкусва ястието си?

Doth not the ear try words? And the palate taste food for itself?

12 М ъдростта е у белокосите, <казвате вие>, И разумът в дългия живот.

With the very aged wisdom, And length of days understanding.

13 А у <Бога> е мъдростта и силата; Той има разсъждение и разум.

With Him wisdom and might, To him counsel and understanding.

14 Е то, Той събаря, и не се съгражда вече; Затваря човека, и не му се отваря.

Lo, He breaketh down, and it is not built up, He shutteth against a man, And it is not opened.

15 Е то, задържа водите, и пресъхват; Пуща ги пак, и изравят земята.

Lo, He keepeth in the waters, and they are dried up, And he sendeth them forth, And they overturn the land.

16 У Него е силата и мъдростта; Негов е измаменият и измамникът.

With Him strength and wisdom, His the deceived and deceiver.

17 З акарва съветниците ограбени, И прави съдиите глупави.

Causing counsellors to go away a spoil, And judges He maketh foolish.

18 Р азпасва пояса на царете, И опасва кръста им с въже.

The bands of kings He hath opened, And He bindeth a girdle on their loins.

19 З акарва първенците ограбени И поваля силните.

Causing ministers to go away a spoil And strong ones He overthroweth.

20 О тнема думата от ползуващите се с доверие, И взема ума на старейшините.

Turning aside the lip of the stedfast, And the reason of the aged He taketh away.

21 И злива презрение върху князете, И ослабва силата {Или: Разхлабя пояса.} на яките.

Pouring contempt upon princes, And the girdle of the mighty He made feeble.

22 О ткрива дълбоки работи из тъмнината, И изважда на видело мрачната сянка.

Removing deep things out of darkness, And He bringeth out to light death-shade.

23 У множава народите, и погубва ги, Разширява народите, и стеснява ги.

Magnifying the nations, and He destroyeth them, Spreading out the nations, and He quieteth them.

24 О тнема бодростта на началниците на земните жители, И прави ги да се скитат по непроходна пустиня;

Turning aside the heart Of the heads of the people of the land, And he causeth them to wander In vacancy -- no way!

25 П ипат в тъмнината без виделина, И прави ги да залитат като пияни.

They feel darkness, and not light, He causeth them to wander as a drunkard.
