1 А Ноемин имаше един сродник по мъжа си, многоимотен човек, от рода на Елимелеха, на име Вооз.

And Naomi hath an acquaintance of her husband's, a man mighty in wealth, of the family of Elimelech, and his name Boaz.

2 И моавката, Рут, каза на Ноемин: Да отида на нивата да събирам класове подир онзи, чието благоволение придобия. И тя й рече: Иди, дъщерьо моя.

And Ruth the Moabitess saith unto Naomi, `Let me go, I pray thee, into the field, and I gather among the ears of corn after him in whose eyes I find grace;' and she saith to her, `Go, my daughter.'

3 И тя отиде, и като стигна, събираше класове в нивата подир жетварите; и случи й се да попадне на нивата, която беше дал на Вооза, човекът от рода на Елимелеха.

And she goeth and cometh and gathereth in a field after the reapers, and her chance happeneth -- the portion of the field is Boaz's who of the family of Elimelech.

4 И , ето, Вооз дойде от Витлеем та рече на жетварите: Господ с вас! И те му отговориха: Господ да те благослови!

And lo, Boaz hath come from Beth-Lehem, and saith to the reapers, `Jehovah with you;' and they say to him, `Jehovah doth bless thee.'

5 Т огава Вооз рече на слугата си, настойника на жетварите: Чия е тая млада жена?

And Boaz saith to his young man who is set over the reapers, `Whose this young person?'

6 И слугата, настойникът на жетварите, рече в отговор: Тая млада жена е моавката, която се върна с Ноемин от Моавската земя;

And the young man who is set over the reapers answereth and saith, `A young woman -- Moabitess -- she, who came back with Naomi from the fields of Moab,

7 и тя рече: Да бера, моля, класове, и да събера нещо между снопите подир жетварите. И тъй тя дойде та стоя от сутринта до сега, само че си почина малко в къщи.

and she saith, Let me glean, I pray thee -- and I have gathered among the sheaves after the reapers; and she cometh and remaineth since the morning and till now; she sat in the house a little.

8 Т огава Вооз рече на Рут: Чуеш ли, дъщерьо моя? не ходи да събираш класове на друга нива, и да си не отидеш от тук, но стой тук при момичетата ми.

And Boaz saith unto Ruth, `Hast thou not heard, my daughter? go not to glean in another field, and also, pass not over from this, and thus thou dost cleave to my young women:

9 Н ека очите ти бъдат в нивата, гдето ще жънат, и ходи подир тях; ето, аз заръчах на момчетата да се не досягат до тебе; и когато си жадна, иди при съдовете та пий от онова, което момчетата са налели.

thine eyes on the field which they reap, and thou hast gone after them; have not I charged the young men not to touch thee? when thou art athirst then thou hast gone unto the vessels, and hast drunk from that which the young men draw.'

10 И тя падна на лице та се поклони до земята, и рече му: Как придобих аз твоето благоволение, та да ме пригледаш, като съм чужденка?

And she falleth on her face, and boweth herself to the earth, and saith unto him, `Wherefore have I found grace in thine eyes, to discern me, and I a stranger?'

11 А Вооз в отговор й рече: Каза ми се напълно всичко, що си сторила на свекърва си подир смъртта на мъжа си, и как си оставила баща си и майка си и родината си, та си дошла между люде, които по-преди не си познавала.

And Boaz answereth and saith to her, `It hath thoroughly been declared to me all that thou hast done with thy mother-in-law, after the death of thy husband, and thou dost leave thy father, and thy mother, and the land of thy birth, and dost come in unto a people which thou hast not known heretofore.

12 Г оспод да ти отплати за делото ти, и пълна награда да ти се даде от Господа Израилевия Бог, под Чиито крила си дошла да се подслониш.

Jehovah doth recompense thy work, and thy reward is complete from Jehovah, God of Israel, under whose wings thou hast come to take refuge.'

13 И тя рече: Да придобия твоето благоволение, господарю мой; понеже ти ме утеши и понеже говори благосклонно на слугинята си, ако и да не съм като някоя от твоите слугини.

And she saith, `Let me find grace in thine eyes, my lord, because thou hast comforted me, and because thou hast spoken unto the heart of thy maid-servant, and I -- I am not as one of thy maid-servants.'

14 И когато настана времето за ядене, Вооз й рече: Дойди тука, та яж от хляба, и натопи залъка си в оцета. Тя, прочее, седна до жетварите; а той й подаде пържена пшеница, та яде и се насити и остави нещо.

And Boaz saith to her, `At meal-time come nigh hither, and thou hast eaten of the bread, and dipped thy morsel in the vinegar.' And she sitteth at the side of the reapers, and he reacheth to her roasted corn, and she eateth, and is satisfied, and leaveth.

15 А като стана да бере класове, Вооз заповяда на момчетата си, като каза: И между снопите нека събира класове; не я мъмрете;

And she riseth to glean, and Boaz chargeth his young men, saying, `Even between the sheaves she doth glean, and ye do not cause her to blush;

16 и даже изваждайте нещо за нея от ръкойките и оставяйте го, и нека го събира без да й забранявате.

and also ye do surely cast to her of the handfuls -- and have left, and she hath gleaned, and ye do not push against her.'

17 Т ака тя береше класове в нивата до вечерта; па очука събраното, и то беше около една ефа ечемик.

And she gleaneth in the field till the evening, and beateth out that which she hath gleaned, and it is about an ephah of barley;

18 И взе това та влезе в града, и свекърва й видя колко класове бе събрала; и <Рут> извади та й даде онова, което беше оставила след като се бе наситила.

and she taketh up, and goeth into the city, and her mother-in-law seeth that which she hath gleaned, and she bringeth out and giveth to her that which she left from her satiety.

19 И свекърва й рече: Где събира днес класове? и где работи? Благословен да бъде оня, който те пригледа. И тя яви на свекърва си в чия <нива> бе работила, като каза: Името на човека, у когото работих днес, е Вооз.

And her mother-in-law saith to her, `Where hast thou gleaned to-day? and where hast thou wrought? may he who is discerning thee be blessed.' And she declareth to her mother-in-law with whom she hath wrought, and saith, `The name of the man with whom I have wrought to-day Boaz.'

20 И Ноемин рече на снаха си: Благословен от Господа оня, който не лиши от милостта си ни живите, ни умрелите. Рече й още Ноемин: Тоя човек е от нашия род, близък нам сродник.

And Naomi saith to her daughter-in-law, `Blessed he of Jehovah who hath not forsaken His kindness with the living and with the dead;' and Naomi saith to her, `The man is a relation of ours; he of our redeemers.'

21 И Рут моавката каза: При това, той ми рече: Да не се делиш от момчетата ми докато не свършат цялата ми жетва.

And Ruth the Moabitess saith, `Also he surely said unto me, Near the young people whom I have thou dost cleave till they have completed the whole of the harvest which I have.'

22 И Ноемин рече на снаха си Рут: Добре е, дъщерьо моя, да излизаш с неговите момичета, и да те не срещат в друга нива.

And Naomi saith unto Ruth her daughter-in-law, `Good, my daughter, that thou goest out with his young women, and they come not against thee in another field.'

23 И така, тя се привърза при момичетата на Вооза, за да бере класове догде се свърши ечемичната жетва и пшеничната жетва; и седеше със свекърва си.

And she cleaveth to the young women of Boaz to glean, till the completion of the barley-harvest, and of the wheat-harvest, and she dwelleth with her mother-in-law.
