1 A nd when he came down from the mount, great multitudes did follow him,

Cuando descendió Jesús del monte, lo seguía mucha gente.

2 a nd lo, a leper having come, was bowing to him, saying, `Sir, if thou art willing, thou art able to cleanse me;'

En esto se le acercó un leproso y se postró ante él, diciendo: —Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme.

3 a nd having stretched forth the hand, Jesus touched him, saying, `I will, be thou cleansed,' and immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Jesús extendió la mano y lo tocó, diciendo: —Quiero, sé limpio. Y al instante su lepra desapareció.

4 A nd Jesus saith to him, `See, thou mayest tell no one, but go, thyself shew to the priest, and bring the gift that Moses commanded for a testimony to them.'

Entonces Jesús le dijo: —Mira, no lo digas a nadie, sino ve, muéstrate al sacerdote y presenta la ofrenda que ordenó Moisés, para testimonio a ellos. Jesús sana al siervo de un centurión

5 A nd Jesus having entered into Capernaum, there came to him a centurion calling upon him,

Al entrar Jesús en Capernaúm, se le acercó un centurión, que le rogaba

6 a nd saying, `Sir, my young man hath been laid in the house a paralytic, fearfully afflicted,'

diciendo: —Señor, mi criado está postrado en casa, paralítico, gravemente atormentado.

7 a nd Jesus saith to him, `I, having come, will heal him.'

Jesús le dijo: —Yo iré y lo sanaré.

8 A nd the centurion answering said, `Sir, I am not worthy that thou mayest enter under my roof, but only say a word, and my servant shall be healed;

Respondió el centurión y dijo: —Señor, no soy digno de que entres bajo mi techo; solamente di la palabra y mi criado sanará,

9 f or I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth, and to another, Be coming, and he cometh, and to my servant, Do this, and he doth.'

pues también yo soy hombre bajo autoridad y tengo soldados bajo mis órdenes, y digo a éste: “Ve”, y va; y al otro: “Ven”, y viene; y a mi siervo: “Haz esto”, y lo hace.

10 A nd Jesus having heard, did wonder, and said to those following, `Verily I say to you, not even in Israel so great faith have I found;

Al oírlo Jesús, se maravilló y dijo a los que lo seguían: —De cierto os digo que ni aun en Israel he hallado tanta fe.

11 a nd I say to you, that many from east and west shall come and recline (at meat) with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the reign of the heavens,

Os digo que vendrán muchos del oriente y del occidente, y se sentarán con Abraham, Isaac y Jacob en el reino de los cielos;

12 b ut the sons of the reign shall be cast forth to the outer darkness -- there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.'

pero los hijos del reino serán echados a las tinieblas de afuera; allí será el lloro y el crujir de dientes.

13 A nd Jesus said to the centurion, `Go, and as thou didst believe let it be to thee;' and his young man was healed in that hour.

Entonces Jesús dijo al centurión: —Vete, y como creíste te sea hecho. Y su criado quedó sano en aquella misma hora. Jesús sana a la suegra de Pedro

14 A nd Jesus having come into the house of Peter, saw his mother-in-law laid, and fevered,

Fue Jesús a casa de Pedro y vio a la suegra de éste postrada en cama, con fiebre.

15 a nd he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose, and was ministering to them.

Entonces tocó su mano y la fiebre la dejó; ella se levantó, y los servía. Jesús sana a muchos enfermos

16 A nd evening having come, they brought to him many demoniacs, and he did cast out the spirits with a word, and did heal all who were ill,

Al caer la noche le llevaron muchos endemoniados, y con la palabra echó fuera a los demonios y sanó a todos los enfermos,

17 t hat it might be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, `Himself took our infirmities, and the sicknesses he did bear.'

para que se cumpliera lo dicho por el profeta Isaías: «Él mismo tomó nuestras enfermedades y llevó nuestras dolencias.» Los que querían seguir a Jesús

18 A nd Jesus having seen great multitudes about him, did command to depart to the other side;

Viéndose Jesús rodeado de mucha gente, dio orden de pasar al otro lado.

19 a nd a certain scribe having come, said to him, `Teacher, I will follow thee wherever thou mayest go;'

Se le acercó un escriba y le dijo: —Maestro, te seguiré adondequiera que vayas.

20 a nd Jesus saith to him, `The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven places of rest, but the Son of Man hath not where he may lay the head.'

Jesús le dijo: —Las zorras tienen guaridas, y las aves del cielo, nidos; pero el Hijo del hombre no tiene donde recostar su cabeza.

21 A nd another of his disciples said to him, `Sir, permit me first to depart and to bury my father;'

Otro de sus discípulos le dijo: —Señor, permíteme que vaya primero y entierre a mi padre.

22 a nd Jesus said to him, `Follow me, and suffer the dead to bury their own dead.'

Jesús le dijo: —Sígueme; deja que los muertos entierren a sus muertos. Jesús calma la tempestad

23 A nd when he entered into the boat his disciples did follow him,

Entró él en la barca y sus discípulos lo siguieron.

24 a nd lo, a great tempest arose in the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves, but he was sleeping,

Y se levantó en el mar una tempestad tan grande que las olas cubrían la barca; pero él dormía.

25 a nd his disciples having come to him, awoke him, saying, `Sir, save us; we are perishing.'

Se acercaron sus discípulos y lo despertaron, diciendo: —¡Señor, sálvanos, que perecemos!

26 A nd he saith to them, `Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?' Then having risen, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm;

Él les dijo: —¿Por qué teméis, hombres de poca fe? Entonces, levantándose, reprendió a los vientos y al mar, y sobrevino una gran calma.

27 a nd the men wondered, saying, `What kind -- is this, that even the wind and the sea do obey him?'

Los hombres, maravillados, decían: —¿Qué hombre es éste, que aun los vientos y el mar lo obedecen? Los endemoniados gadarenos

28 A nd he having come to the other side, to the region of the Gergesenes, there met him two demoniacs, coming forth out of the tombs, very fierce, so that no one was able to pass over by that way,

Cuando llegó a la otra orilla, a la tierra de los gadarenos, vinieron a su encuentro dos endemoniados que salían de los sepulcros, feroces en gran manera, tanto que nadie podía pasar por aquel camino.

29 a nd lo, they cried out, saying, `What -- to us and to thee, Jesus, Son of God? didst thou come hither, before the time, to afflict us?'

Y clamaron diciendo: —¿Qué tienes con nosotros, Jesús, Hijo de Dios? ¿Has venido acá para atormentarnos antes de tiempo?

30 A nd there was far off from them a herd of many swine feeding,

Estaba paciendo lejos de ellos un hato de muchos cerdos.

31 a nd the demons were calling on him, saying, `If thou dost cast us forth, permit us to go away to the herd of the swine;'

Y los demonios le rogaron diciendo: —Si nos echas fuera, permítenos ir a aquel hato de cerdos.

32 a nd he saith to them, `Go.' And having come forth, they went to the herd of the swine, and lo, the whole herd of the swine rushed down the steep, to the sea, and died in the waters,

Él les dijo: —Id. Ellos salieron y se fueron a aquel hato de cerdos, y entonces todo el hato de cerdos se lanzó al mar por un despeñadero, y perecieron en las aguas.

33 a nd those feeding did flee, and, having gone to the city, they declared all, and the matter of the demoniacs.

Los que los apacentaban huyeron y, llegando a la ciudad, contaron todas las cosas y lo que había pasado con los endemoniados.

34 A nd lo, all the city came forth to meet Jesus, and having seen him, they called on that he might depart from their borders.

Entonces toda la ciudad salió al encuentro de Jesús y, cuando lo vieron, le rogaron que se fuera de su territorio.
