1 T o the Overseer. -- A Psalm by David. Jehovah, Thou hast searched me, and knowest.

SEÑOR, tú me has examinado y conocido.

2 T hou -- Thou hast known my sitting down, And my rising up, Thou hast attended to my thoughts from afar.

Tú has conocido mi sentarme y mi levantarme, has entendido desde lejos mis pensamientos.

3 M y path and my couch Thou hast fanned, And all my ways hast been acquainted.

Mi andar y mi reposo has ceñido, y todos mis caminos has aparejado.

4 F or there is not a word in my tongue, Lo, O Jehovah, Thou hast known it all!

Pues aun no está la palabra en mi lengua, y he aquí, oh SEÑOR, tú la supiste toda.

5 B ehind and before Thou hast besieged me, And Thou dost place on me Thy hand.

Rostro y envés tú me formaste, y sobre mí pusiste tu mano.

6 K nowledge too wonderful for me, It hath been set on high, I am not able for it.

Más maravillosa es su ciencia que mi capacidad; alta es, no puedo comprenderla.

7 W hither do I go from Thy Spirit? And whither from Thy face do I flee?

¶ ¿Adónde me iré de tu Espíritu? ¿Y adónde huiré de tu presencia?

8 I f I ascend the heavens -- there Thou, And spread out a couch in Sheol, lo, Thee!

Si subiere a los cielos, allí estás tú; y si hiciere mi estrado en el Seol, hete allí.

9 I take the wings of morning, I dwell in the uttermost part of the sea,

Si tomare las alas del alba, y habitare en el extremo del mar,

10 A lso there Thy hand doth lead me, And Thy right hand doth hold me.

aun allí me guiará tu mano, y me asirá tu diestra.

11 A nd I say, `Surely darkness bruiseth me, Then night light to me.

Si dijere: Ciertamente las tinieblas me encubrirán; aun la noche resplandecerá por causa de mí.

12 A lso darkness hideth not from Thee, And night as day shineth, as darkness so light.

Aun las tinieblas no encubren de ti, y la noche resplandece como el día; las tinieblas son como la luz.

13 F or Thou -- Thou hast possessed my reins, Thou dost cover me in my mother's belly.

Porque tú poseíste mis riñones; me cubriste en el vientre de mi madre.

14 I confess Thee, because that wonders I have been distinguished. Wonderful Thy works, And my soul is knowing well.

Te alabaré; porque me formaste de una manera formidable y maravillosa; y esto mi alma conoce en gran manera.

15 M y substance was not hid from Thee, When I was made in secret, Curiously wrought in the lower part of earth.

No fue encubierto mi cuerpo de ti, aunque yo fui hecho en secreto, y entretejido en lo profundo de la tierra.

16 M ine unformed substance Thine eyes saw, And on Thy book all of them are written, The days they were formed -- And not one among them.

Tus ojos vieron mi cuerpo aun imperfecto, y en tu libro todos mis miembros estaban escritos; que fueron luego formados, sin faltar uno de ellos.

17 A nd to me how precious have been Thy thoughts, O God, how great hath been their sum!

¶ Así que ¡cuán preciosos me son, oh Dios, tus pensamientos! ¡Cuán multiplicadas son sus cuentas!

18 I recount them! than the sand they are more, I have waked, and I am still with Thee.

Si los cuento, se multiplican más que la arena; despierto, y aún estoy contigo.

19 D ost Thou slay, O God, the wicked? Then, men of blood, turn aside from me!

De cierto, oh Dios, matarás al impío; apartaos, pues, de mí, los varones sanguinarios,

20 W ho exchange Thee for wickedness, Lifted up to vanity Thine enemies.

que te dicen blasfemias; se ensoberbecen en vano tus enemigos.

21 D o not I hate, Jehovah, those hating Thee? And with Thy withstanders grieve myself?

¿No tuve en odio, oh SEÑOR, a los que te aborrecen, y peleo contra tus enemigos?

22 p erfect hatred I have hated them, Enemies they have become to me.

De entero odio los aborrecí; los tuve por enemigos.

23 S earch me, O God, and know my heart, Try me, and know my thoughts,

Examíname, oh Dios, y conoce mi corazón; pruébame y conoce mis pensamientos;

24 A nd see if a grievous way be in me, And lead me in a way age-during!

y ve si hay en mí camino de perversidad, y guíame en el camino eterno.
