1 A nd Josiah maketh in Jerusalem a passover to Jehovah, and they slaughter the passover-offering on the fourteenth of the first month,

Josias célébra la Pâque en l'honneur de l'Éternel à Jérusalem, et l'on immola la Pâque le quatorzième jour du premier mois.

2 a nd he stationeth the priests over their charges, and strengtheneth them for the service of the house of Jehovah,

Il établit les sacrificateurs dans leurs fonctions, et les encouragea au service de la maison de l'Éternel.

3 a nd saith to the Levites -- who are teaching all Israel -- who are sanctified to Jehovah, `Put the holy ark in the house that Solomon son of David king of Israel built; it is not to you a burden on the shoulder. `Now, serve Jehovah your God, and His people Israel,

Il dit aux Lévites qui enseignaient tout Israël et qui étaient consacrés à l'Éternel: Placez l'arche sainte dans la maison qu'a bâtie Salomon, fils de David, roi d'Israël; vous n'avez plus à la porter sur l'épaule. Servez maintenant l'Éternel, votre Dieu, et son peuple d'Israël.

4 a nd prepare, by the house of your fathers, according to your courses, by the writing of David king of Israel, and by the writing of Solomon his son,

Tenez-vous prêts, selon vos maisons paternelles, selon vos divisions, comme l'ont réglé par écrit David, roi d'Israël, et Salomon, son fils;

5 a nd stand in the sanctuary, by the divisions of the house of the fathers of your brethren, sons of the people, and the portion of the house of a father of the Levites,

occupez vos places dans le sanctuaire, d'après les différentes maisons paternelles de vos frères les fils du peuple, et d'après la classification des maisons paternelles des Lévites.

6 a nd slaughter the passover-offering and sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brethren, to do according to the word of Jehovah by the hand of Moses.'

Immolez la Pâque, sanctifiez-vous, et préparez-la pour vos frères, en vous conformant à la parole de l'Éternel prononcée par Moïse.

7 A nd Josiah lifteth up to the sons of the people a flock of lambs and young goats, the whole for passover-offerings, for every one who is found, to the number of thirty thousand, and oxen three thousand: these from the substance of the king.

Josias donna aux gens du peuple, à tous ceux qui se trouvaient là, des agneaux et des chevreaux au nombre de trente mille, le tout pour la Pâque, et trois mille boeufs; cela fut pris sur les biens du roi.

8 A nd his heads, for a willing-offering to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites, have lifted up; Hilkiah, and Zechariah, and Jehiel, leaders in the house of God, to the priests have given for passover-offerings two thousand and six hundred, and oxen three hundred;

Ses chefs firent de bon gré un présent au peuple, aux sacrificateurs et aux Lévites. Hilkija, Zacharie, et Jehiel, princes de la maison de Dieu, donnèrent aux sacrificateurs pour la Pâque deux mille six cents agneaux et trois cents boeufs.

9 a nd Conaniah, and Shemaiah, and Nethaneel, his brethren, and Hashabiah, and Jeiel, and Jozabad, heads of the Levites, have lifted up to the Levites, for passover-offerings, five thousand, and oxen five hundred.

Conania, Schemaeja et Nethaneel, ses frères, Haschabia, Jeïel et Jozabad, chefs des Lévites, donnèrent aux Lévites pour la Pâque cinq mille agneaux et cinq cents boeufs.

10 A nd the service is prepared, and the priests stand on their station, and the Levites on their courses, according to the command of the king,

Le service s'organisa, et les sacrificateurs et les Lévites occupèrent leur place, selon leurs divisions, d'après l'ordre du roi.

11 a nd they slaughter the passover-offering, and the priests sprinkle out of their hand, and the Levites are striping;

Ils immolèrent la Pâque; les sacrificateurs répandirent le sang qu'ils recevaient de la main des Lévites, et les Lévites dépouillèrent les victimes.

12 a nd they turn aside the burnt-offering, to put them by the divisions of the house of the fathers of the sons of the people, to bring near to Jehovah, as it is written in the book of Moses -- and so to the oxen.

Ils mirent à part les holocaustes pour les donner aux différentes maisons paternelles des gens du peuple, afin qu'ils les offrissent à l'Éternel, comme il est écrit dans le livre de Moïse; et de même pour les boeufs.

13 A nd they cook the passover with fire, according to the ordinance, and the sanctified things they have cooked in pots, and in kettles, and in pans -- for all the sons of the people.

Ils firent cuire la Pâque au feu, selon l'ordonnance, et ils firent cuire les choses saintes dans des chaudières, des chaudrons et des poêles; et ils s'empressèrent de les distribuer à tout le peuple.

14 A nd afterward they have prepared for themselves, and for the priests: for the priests, sons of Aaron, in the offering up of the burnt-offering and of the fat till night; and the Levites have prepared for themselves, and for the priests, sons of Aaron.

Ensuite ils préparèrent ce qui était pour eux et pour les sacrificateurs, car les sacrificateurs, fils d'Aaron, furent occupés jusqu'à la nuit à offrir les holocaustes et les graisses; c'est pourquoi les Lévites préparèrent pour eux et pour les sacrificateurs, fils d'Aaron.

15 A nd the singers, sons of Asaph, on their station, according to the command of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun seer of the king, and the gate keepers at gate and gate; it is not for them to turn aside from off their service, for their brethren the Levites have prepared for them.

Les chantres, fils d'Asaph, étaient à leur place, selon l'ordre de David, d'Asaph, d'Héman, et de Jeduthun le voyant du roi, et les portiers étaient à chaque porte; ils n'eurent pas à se détourner de leur office, car leurs frères les Lévites préparèrent ce qui était pour eux.

16 A nd all the service of Jehovah is prepared on that day, to keep the passover, and to cause to ascend burnt-offering upon the altar of Jehovah, according to the command of king Josiah.

Ainsi fut organisé ce jour-là tout le service de l'Éternel pour faire la Pâque et pour offrir des holocaustes sur l'autel de l'Éternel, d'après l'ordre du roi Josias.

17 A nd the sons of Israel who are found make the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened things, seven days.

Les enfants d'Israël qui se trouvaient là célébrèrent la Pâque en ce temps et la fête des pains sans levain pendant sept jours.

18 A nd there hath not been made a passover like it in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet, and none of the kings of Israel made such a passover as Josiah hath made, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel who are found, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Aucune Pâque pareille à celle-là n'avait été célébrée en Israël depuis les jours de Samuel le prophète; et aucun des rois d'Israël n'avait célébré une Pâque pareille à celle que célébrèrent Josias, les sacrificateurs et les Lévites, tout Juda et Israël qui s'y trouvaient, et les habitants de Jérusalem.

19 I n the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah hath this passover been made.

Ce fut la dix-huitième année du règne de Josias que cette Pâque fut célébrée.

20 A fter all this, when Josiah hath prepared the house, come up hath Necho king of Egypt, to fight against Carchemish by Phrat, and Josiah goeth forth to meet him;

Après tout cela, après que Josias eut réparé la maison de l'Éternel, Néco, roi d'Égypte, monta pour combattre à Carkemisch sur l'Euphrate. Josias marcha à sa rencontre;

21 a nd he sendeth unto him messengers, saying, `What -- to me and to thee, O king of Judah? not against thee do I come to-day, but unto the house with which I have war, and God said to haste me; cease for thee from God who with me, and He doth not destroy thee.'

et Néco lui envoya des messagers pour dire: Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi, roi de Juda? Ce n'est pas contre toi que je viens aujourd'hui; c'est contre une maison avec laquelle je suis en guerre. Et Dieu m'a dit de me hâter. Ne t'oppose pas à Dieu, qui est avec moi, de peur qu'il ne te détruise.

22 A nd Josiah hath not turned round his face from him, but to fight against him hath disguised himself, and hath not hearkened unto the words of Necho, from the mouth of God, and cometh in to fight in the valley of Megiddo;

Mais Josias ne se détourna point de lui, et il se déguisa pour l'attaquer, sans écouter les paroles de Néco, qui venaient de la bouche de Dieu. Il s'avança pour combattre dans la vallée de Meguiddo.

23 a nd the archers shoot at king Josiah, and the king saith to his servants, `Remove me, for I have become very sick.'

Les archers tirèrent sur le roi Josias, et le roi dit à ses serviteurs: Emportez-moi, car je suis gravement blessé.

24 A nd his servants remove him from the chariot, and cause him to ride on the second chariot that he hath, and cause him to go to Jerusalem, and he dieth, and is buried in the graves of his fathers, and all Judah and Jerusalem are mourning for Josiah,

Ses serviteurs l'emportèrent du char, le mirent dans un second char qui était à lui, et l'amenèrent à Jérusalem. Il mourut, et fut enterré dans le sépulcre de ses pères. Tout Juda et Jérusalem pleurèrent Josias.

25 a nd Jeremiah lamenteth for Josiah, and all the singers and the songstresses speak in their lamentations of Josiah unto this day, and set them for a statute on Israel, and lo, they are written beside the lamentations.

Jérémie fit une complainte sur Josias; tous les chanteurs et toutes les chanteuses ont parlé de Josias dans leurs complaintes jusqu'à ce jour, et en ont établi la coutume en Israël. Ces chants sont écrits dans les Complaintes.

26 A nd the rest of the matters of Josiah, and his kind acts, according as it is written in the law of Jehovah,

Le reste des actions de Josias, et ses oeuvres de piété, telles que les prescrit la loi de l'Éternel,

27 e ven his matters, the first and the last, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

ses premières et ses dernières actions, cela est écrit dans le livre des rois d'Israël et de Juda.
