1 A nd He saith unto me, `Son of man, that which thou findest eat, eat this roll, and go, speak unto the house of Israel.'

Il me dit: Fils de l'homme, mange ce que tu trouves, mange ce rouleau, et va, parle à la maison d'Israël!

2 A nd I open my mouth, and He causeth me to eat this roll.

J'ouvris la bouche, et il me fit manger ce rouleau.

3 A nd He saith unto me, `Son of man, thy belly thou dost feed, and thy bowels thou dost fill with this roll that I am giving unto thee;' and I eat it, and it is in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

Il me dit: Fils de l'homme, nourris ton ventre et remplis tes entrailles de ce rouleau que je te donne! Je le mangeai, et il fut dans ma bouche doux comme du miel.

4 A nd He saith unto me, `Son of man, go, enter in unto the house of Israel, and thou hast spoken with My words unto them.

Il me dit: Fils de l'homme, va vers la maison d'Israël, et dis-leur mes paroles!

5 F or, not unto a people deep of lip and heavy of tongue thou sent -- unto the house of Israel;

Car ce n'est point vers un peuple ayant un langage obscur, une langue inintelligible, que tu es envoyé; c'est à la maison d'Israël.

6 n ot unto many peoples, deep of lip and heavy of tongue, whose words thou dost not understand. If I had not sent thee unto them -- they, they do hearken unto thee,

Ce n'est point vers de nombreux peuples ayant un langage obscur, une langue inintelligible, dont tu ne comprends pas les discours. Si je t'envoyais vers eux, ils t'écouteraient.

7 b ut the house of Israel are not willing to hearken unto thee, for they are not willing to hearken unto Me, for all the house of Israel are brazen-faced and strong-hearted.

Mais la maison d'Israël ne voudra pas t'écouter, parce qu'elle ne veut pas m'écouter; car toute la maison d'Israël a le front dur et le coeur endurci.

8 ` Lo, I have made thy face strong against their face, and thy forehead strong against their forehead.

Voici, j'endurcirai ta face, pour que tu l'opposes à leur face; j'endurcirai ton front, pour que tu l'opposes à leur front.

9 A s an adamant harder than a rock I have made thy forehead; thou dost not fear them, nor art thou affrighted before them, for a rebellious house they.'

Je rendrai ton front comme un diamant, plus dur que le roc. Ne les crains pas, quoiqu'ils soient une famille de rebelles.

10 A nd He saith unto me, `Son of man, all My words, that I speak unto thee, receive with thy heart, and with thine ears hear;

Il me dit: Fils de l'homme, reçois dans ton coeur et écoute de tes oreilles toutes les paroles que je te dirai!

11 a nd go, enter in unto the Removed, unto the sons of thy people, and thou hast spoken unto them, and hast said unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: whether they hear, or whether they forbear.'

Va vers les captifs, vers les enfants de ton peuple; tu leur parleras, et, qu'ils écoutent ou qu'ils n'écoutent pas, tu leur diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

12 A nd lift me up doth a spirit, and I hear behind me a noise, a great rushing -- `Blessed the honour of Jehovah from His place!' --

Et l'esprit m'enleva, et j'entendis derrière moi le bruit d'un grand tumulte: Bénie soit la gloire de l'Éternel, du lieu de sa demeure!

13 e ven a noise of the wings of the living creatures touching one another, and a noise of the wheels over-against them, even a noise of a great rushing.

J'entendis le bruit des ailes des animaux, frappant l'une contre l'autre, le bruit des roues auprès d'eux, et le bruit d'un grand tumulte.

14 A nd a spirit hath lifted me up, and doth take me away, and I go bitterly, in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of Jehovah on me strong.

L'esprit m'enleva et m'emporta. J'allais, irrité et furieux, et la main de l'Éternel agissait sur moi avec puissance.

15 A nd I come in unto the Removed, at Tel-Ahib, who are dwelling at the river Chebar, and where they are dwelling I also dwell seven days, causing astonishment in their midst.

J'arrivai à Thel Abib, vers les exilés qui demeuraient près du fleuve du Kebar, et dans le lieu où ils se trouvaient; là je restai sept jours, stupéfait au milieu d'eux.

16 A nd it cometh to pass, at the end of seven days,

Au bout de sept jours, la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

17 t hat there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, `Son of man, a watchman I have given thee to the house of Israel, and thou hast heard from My mouth a word, and hast warned them from Me.

Fils de l'homme, je t'établis comme sentinelle sur la maison d'Israël. Tu écouteras la parole qui sortira de ma bouche, et tu les avertiras de ma part.

18 I n My saying to the wicked: Thou dost surely die; and thou hast not warned him, nor hast spoken to warn the wicked from his wicked way, so that he doth live; he -- the wicked -- in his iniquity dieth, and his blood from thy hand I require.

Quand je dirai au méchant: Tu mourras! si tu ne l'avertis pas, si tu ne parles pas pour détourner le méchant de sa mauvaise voie et pour lui sauver la vie, ce méchant mourra dans son iniquité, et je te redemanderai son sang.

19 A nd thou, because thou hast warned the wicked, and he hath not turned back from his wickedness, and from his wicked way, he in his iniquity dieth, and thou thy soul hast delivered.

Mais si tu avertis le méchant, et qu'il ne se détourne pas de sa méchanceté et de sa mauvaise voie, il mourra dans son iniquité, et toi, tu sauveras ton âme.

20 ` And in the turning back of the righteous from his righteousness, and he hath done perversity, and I have put a stumbling-block before him, he dieth; because thou hast not warned him, in his sin he dieth, and not remembered is his righteousness that he hath done, and his blood from thy hand I require.

Si un juste se détourne de sa justice et fait ce qui est mal, je mettrai un piège devant lui, et il mourra; parce que tu ne l'as pas averti, il mourra dans son péché, on ne parlera plus de la justice qu'il a pratiquée, et je te redemanderai son sang.

21 A nd thou, because thou hast warned him -- the righteous -- that the righteous sin not, and he hath not sinned, he surely liveth, because he hath been warned; and thou thy soul hast delivered.'

Mais si tu avertis le juste de ne pas pécher, et qu'il ne pèche pas, il vivra, parce qu'il s'est laissé avertir, et toi, tu sauveras ton âme.

22 A nd there is on me there a hand of Jehovah, and He saith to me, `Rise, go forth to the valley, and there I do speak with thee.'

Là encore la main de l'Éternel fut sur moi, et il me dit: Lève-toi, va dans la vallée, et là je te parlerai.

23 A nd I rise and go forth unto the valley, and lo, there the honour of Jehovah is standing as the honour that I had seen by the river Chebar, and I fall on my face.

Je me levai, et j'allai dans la vallée; et voici, la gloire de l'Éternel y apparut, telle que je l'avais vue près du fleuve du Kebar. Alors je tombai sur ma face.

24 A nd come into me doth a spirit, and causeth me to stand on my feet, and He speaketh with me, and saith unto me, `Go in, be shut up in the midst of thy house.

L'esprit entra en moi, et me fit tenir sur mes pieds. Et l'Éternel me parla et me dit: Va t'enfermer dans ta maison.

25 ` And thou, son of man, lo, they have put on thee thick bands, and have bound thee with them, and thou goest not forth in their midst;

Fils de l'homme, voici, on mettra sur toi des cordes, avec lesquelles on te liera, afin que tu n'ailles pas au milieu d'eux.

26 a nd thy tongue I cause to cleave unto thy palate, and thou hast been dumb, and art not to them for a reprover, for a rebellious house they.

J'attacherai ta langue à ton palais, pour que tu sois muet et que tu ne puisses pas les reprendre, car c'est une famille de rebelles.

27 A nd in My speaking with thee, I do open thy mouth, and thou hast said unto them: Thus said the Lord Jehovah; the hearer doth hear, and the forbearer doth forbear; for a rebellious house they.

Mais quand je te parlerai, j'ouvrirai ta bouche, pour que tu leur dises: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel. Que celui qui voudra écouter écoute, et que celui qui ne voudra pas n'écoute pas, car c'est une famille de rebelles.
