1 T he Word of the Lord came to me saying,

Vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

2 “ Son of man, look toward Mount Seir and speak against it,

«Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro hacia el monte Seir y profetiza contra él,

3 s aying, ‘The Lord God says, “I am against you, Mount Seir. I will put out My hand against you and make you a waste land.

diciendo: “Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: »”He aquí, yo estoy contra ti, monte Seir; extenderé mi mano contra ti y te convertiré en un desierto desolado.

4 I will destroy your cities, and you will become a waste. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

Tus ciudades asolaré, quedarás desolado y sabrás que yo soy Jehová.

5 Y ou have always hated the people of Israel and have given them over to be killed at the time of their trouble, at the time of the punishment of the end.

»”Por cuanto tuviste enemistad perpetua y entregaste a los hijos de Israel al poder de la espada en el tiempo de su aflicción, en el tiempo en que su maldad fue consumada,

6 S o as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will give you over to death, and you will not get away from death. Since you have not hated killing, death will come after you.

por eso, vivo yo, dice Jehová, el Señor, que a sangre te destinaré y sangre te perseguirá. Porque no aborreciste la sangre, sangre te perseguirá.

7 I will destroy Mount Seir and make it a waste. And I will kill all who travel through it.

Convertiré el monte Seir en desierto desolado, y eliminaré de él al que salga y al que entre.

8 I will fill its mountains with its dead. Those killed by the sword will fall on your hills and in your valleys.

Llenaré sus montes con sus muertos; en tus collados, en tus valles y en todos tus arroyos caerán los muertos a espada.

9 I will destroy you forever, and no one will live in your cities. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

Yo te pondré en perpetua desolación, y tus ciudades nunca más se restaurarán. Y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.

10 “ You have said, ‘These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will own them,’ even when the Lord was there.

»”Por cuanto dijiste: ‘Las dos naciones y las dos tierras serán mías, y tomaré posesión de ellas’, estando allí Jehová;

11 S o as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will punish you for your anger and the jealousy you showed because of your hate toward them. And I will make Myself known among them when I judge you.

por eso, vivo yo, dice Jehová, el Señor, que yo haré conforme a tu ira y conforme a tu celo con que procediste, a causa de tus enemistades con ellos; y seré conocido en ellos cuando te juzgue.

12 T hen you will know that I, the Lord, have heard all the bad things you have said against the mountains of Israel. You have said, ‘They are destroyed. They are given to us for food.’

Y sabrás que yo, Jehová, he oído todas tus injurias que proferiste contra los montes de Israel, diciendo: ‘¡Destruidos son, nos han sido dados para que los devoremos!’

13 Y ou have spoken in pride against Me, with many words and I have heard you.”

Y os engrandecisteis contra mí con vuestra boca, y multiplicasteis contra mí vuestras palabras. ¡Yo lo oí!

14 T he Lord God says, “While the whole earth is filled with joy, I will destroy you.

Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: Para que toda la tierra se regocije, yo te convertiré en una desolación.

15 A s you had joy because the land of Israel was destroyed, so I will do to you. You will be destroyed, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”’

Como te alegraste sobre la heredad de la casa de Israel, porque fue asolada, así haré contigo: ¡asolado será el monte Seir, y todo Edom, todo él! Y sabrán que yo soy Jehová.”
